I'm gonna really be fighting an uphill battle trying to hate Bo Dallas. I don't think they've had a heel this delusional in years.

They were catalysts for the Four Horsemen reunion of 1995. Flair and Sting vs Anderson and Pillman.

How is the Network going to affect WWE Home Video?
The Chief replied to flyonthewall2983's topic in Pro Wrestling
Hopefully the network means the home video department will put some more effort into making the releases stand out. I don't understand the point of Best WCW PPV Matches or Best Of Great American Bash now that we have the network, but has anyone seen the listing for the upcoming Paul Heyman set? Holy shit that looks great! -
Wow, the Brood weren't even the number two faction in the promotion at the time.

Austin may have been in a neck brace still. -
Just started watching NXT Takeover, very fun show. I gotta say, Bret Hart and Ric Flair as dueling little league coaches is pretty funny.

Listening to Vader on the Steve Austin show got me thinking, did Vader and Regal ever face off? I apologize if this is obvious, but AFAIK they were both heels in WCW and Vader was leaving WWE as Regal entered. I would love to see a match if one exists.

There were s lot of casuals during the Attitude Era WWF, those crowds aren't bad at all. That kind of thing didn't really become over the top in the WWE until around the time Cena became the man. In the Attitude Era, people still cheered the faces and booed the heels. Now, who the faces and heels were could get confusing, but I don't think that's the same thing. Those crowds were one hundred percent behind Austin kicking peoples asses, for example.

I love heel Hornswoggle, dead serious.

I'll take this crop over the "throw shit against the wall and see what sticks" approach any day. I'm talking about Gavin Spears, Ryan Braddock, Gunner Scott, the Major Brothers, Ricky Ortiz, etc. Even if things don't work out for certain guys now, at least there is EFFORT put into it. I haven't had that feeling about new guys in years.

That idea is terrible, but what does that have to do with people thinking Raw sucks?

Is TNA the worst wrestling promotion in history?
The Chief replied to Loss's topic in Megathread archive
I didn't get any of that from his mic work tonight. Just seemed like a forced early 2000's HHH or Jarrett promo bullshitting about power, THE BUSINESS, etc. MVP cosplaying as a main event heel is not interesting. -
And he uses words like "fake"to describe Gorilla Monsoon's presidency to prove that he's smart.

Is TNA the worst wrestling promotion in history?
The Chief replied to Loss's topic in Megathread archive
Decided to tune into Impact tonight. Haven't watched in at least a year. MVP, Lashley, Kenny blabbing about the business, money, blah blah. American Wolves come out to interrupt. Guessing they used to be aligned with MVP? Brawl starts and Lashley spears one of them off the stage. This came across as very forced, Lashley should never be allowed near a microphone and MVP wasn't much better. I'm not even sure who's still on the roster, gonna be fair and watch this all the way through. -
I really can't get into the guest booker stuff for a lot of those reasons. I feel they often forget/ignore major details and stray too far from reality. Not a fan of fantasy booking in any form, honestly.

To those types, when has wrestling ever been 50, 60, 70 whatever percent "good?" Even during really good periods of the WWF like 1997 and 2000, one could argue that there was a LOT of crap on those shows to go with the good. That's just how things work. Was there ever a time in WWE history when everyone on the roster was utilized to their full potential? It just is what it is. I actually do watch Raw live every week. I don't like everything I see, but I'm not under the impression that wrestling was ever at a point where everything was great.

How can wrestling appeal to educated people with money?
The Chief replied to Loss's topic in Pro Wrestling
They need to get rid of the groan-inducing comedy. They can still have some comedy, but some of the stuff is beyond low-brow. You know the stuff you're embarrassed to be watching if someone else is in the room? They do that way too much. Example, when Brock Lesnar came back a couple years ago, I had some lapsed fans watch with me. They enjoyed Cena and Lesnar beating the shit out of each other. Then, in the same show there's a segment where Hornswoggle is biting Vickie Guerrero's butt. They all said stuff like that is why they don't watch anymore. That's all it took, interest was killed dead. Honestly, who would find something like that funny besides hillbillies? -

Totally unrelated and as far as I know, they only used the hard camera footage on the 50 years DVD. They did it because they wanted to put a different spin on a match they've released on dozens of sets. It puts over how big the Silverdome atmosphere was. -
Great show guys, love the format. One thing about these early Raws is that they're a breeze to watch. Nothing really overstays it's welcome, good matches are fairly long and the stuff that needs to be short ifs kept short. Lots of variety too. I give passing grades to a lot of these shows because they were so different from the big bright and shiny TV we were used to up until that point. I might even say the weekly TV had s bit of a Memphis studio feel.

Please don't bring that here, just say "Benoit"

I think Lesnar/Angle very much played into what the general fanbase was looking for at the time. Lots of moves, moves, moves, high impact, lots of kickouts. Very much an early 2000's main event.

I think Brie kind of takes away from Bryan's character. They just don't seem natural together, that's probably different in real life, but they don't need to acknowledge their relationship on TV.
