I have a weird feeling that a Vickie/Stephanie fued could lead to a really fun clusterfuck match like the shockingly good Trish/Stephanie match from 2001.

No problem with Kane being added to the match, he was supposed to wrestle Bryan if he was healthy so he has a legit reason to be in it. Bo Dallas needs to whiten his teeth if he's gonna be smiling so much.
  3. According to MVP on JR's podcast, Benoit used to do a lot of ecstasy in WCW.
  4. Bob Holly had a nasty cut in that RVD match. It's not a Muta Scale bloodbath, but it's absolutely disgusting for how deep the cut is and where it is on his body.
  5. I think a good question would be; at this stage in his career, is there anything at all Orton can do to get over his stigma?
  6. If anybody needs any further proof of how great an interviewer Steve is, check out today's episode with Tommy Rogers. I really wasn't sure what to expect from Tommy, and yeah, he's kind of all over the place. But Steve does his best to keep things on track without being rude or invasive. I look forwrad to every Tuesday and Wednesday for this.
  7. Finished the show, good listen. Justin's RVD impression had me in stiches. The next couple years of shows will be interesting because 2003 is when a lot of people checked out. I didn't check out completely, but it's the closest I ever came. You raise good points about HHH's title reign in general and how they would point out all the negatives in a guy before feeding him to HHH for a couple PPV's. It's hard to imagine who they could have put the belt on if not Hunter, Brock was a heel champ on SmackDown so having a face champ on Raw could have worked. RVD and Booker were probably the most over babyfaces, but I think there would need to be a lot of work done to both to heat them back up.
  8. 3MW weren't the gangsters from 1995, Rosey was there but not Jamal. I'm not 100% sure who the other one was, I've heard Samu but it looks nothing like him. I think Samu had another brother who didn't make it as big as his brothers and cousins.

Why are we still getting Vickie Guerrero comedy segments? Wasn't she supposed to be done after Mania?

Cmfunk, Layla has been around for a couple years longerthan Nattie. Actually, I think Layla has had the longest run of any diva, ever.
  11. I'm so glad you're doing more of these, and it's awesome you're going with Chris Adams instead of somebody typical. Keeping my fingers crossed for Buzz Sawyer...

  13. So between making it cool to cheer heels and the "what?" stuff, is it safe to say Steve Austin is the worst thing to happen to the wrestling business? :-)
  14. When did that stuff filter into WWE crowds? I'm thinking around the time of the ECW shows.

A Cruiserweight or Light Heavyweight Division is at least something that can be easily defined, what the hell is an X-Division supposed to be? How do you explain that to a casual fan? Makes no sense from a kayfabe perspective either, the guys competing for the world title are ok, but the X-Division is where the wrestlers try REALLY hard and they're much better because they do flips. You have to do flips to be in this division, think of how amateur that sounds. What's to stop a more traditional style worker like a Shane Douglas from competing there? You can kayfabe that he is above the cruiserweight limit, but how do you kayfabe explain that he can't be in the X-Division? Horrible, catering to the smarks in the worst possible way.
  16. I had some audio trouble listening to this show but I put up with it because I thought it was an awesome topic! I really hope you do more of these because I think the Snapshot idea works much better in podcast form. Billing Jericho from New York was an edict from Vince in 2004. Vince didn't want any babyfaces announced from foreign countries. I swear, I'm not making this up. Jericho was billed as "born in Manhasset, Long island." Chris Benoit was billed as "now residing in Atlanta, GA." It started at WrestleMania XX. Christian and Test were allowed to keep Toronto, Ontario Canada because they were heels. I'm pretty sure Edge kept Toronto despite being a babyface, I'm not sure if his heel turn was planned long-term though, so he may be an exception.
  17. Listening to Graham on Main Event shoot down Scott's batshit rumor is hilarious "was that WrestleNews with an S or a Z?" Graham needs to do more podcasts.

  19. You know it's weird because everyone always bitches about how WWE is extremely annoying about over promoting things, yet this is arguably the most important product they've ever launched and they're promoting at 50%.
  20. To be honest I liked parts but some of the smark turned me off. The talk about firing all the jobbers, fire all the divas, fire El Torito, the attitude towards big guys like Ryback and Rusev made it kind of hard to get through. I will give it another shot though.
  21. I dunno, 2006 is kind of fun for how bizarre and random the roster was, plus you had the awesome Finlay run. 2003 is the only year that almost made me give up completely, although a lot of the stuff is good in retrospect.

Not necessarily. The Dudleyz were lumped in with the Summer 05 crew when they mutually agreed to non renew. We can still get a sendoff. Sgt. Slaughter was released in 08 or 09, how many times have we seen him since?

Pretty classless, if so. The guy deserved a real retirement, not this "future endeavored" bullshit. But I guess they couldn't be bothered after they worked J.R.'s "retirement" and that bounced back in their faces. We don't know the exact details, let's not raid Stamford with torches just yet. There have been many instances where talent has been released from their "talent" contracts in the past but still received compensation in other ways. Teddy is in his 60's and hasn't been used on TV in months. For all we know it was mutual. Until I'm proved wrong I'm going to believe that releasing JTG so late in the day was a deliberate rib.
