  1. Agreed, Bubba. I hope Alexander takes a stand, no-shows the rest of his dates, and starts working indies. The cheap penny pinchers at TNA won't be able to do a damn thing about it. It's not like they can afford to sue him, or would bother spending the money to do so.
  2. Is it just me or does this reek of Josh Alexander being held hostage by his new TNA corporate overlords? TNA Wrestling Exercises Its Option to Extend Contract of Josh Alexander https://tnawrestling.com/2024/02/20/tna-wrestling-exercises-its-option-to-extend-contract-of-josh-alexander/ Just to be clear, I'm well-aware WWE and AEW do the same thing (Brian Cage getting his AEW contract extended is especially baffling), but I'm guessing no one in TNA is making WWE or AEW money.
  3. I genuinely thought Paul Roma died years ago. I guess I somehow confused him with Tom Zenk. I'm glad "Pretty" Paul is still around. A genuinely underrated wrestler and actually one of the more talented Horsemen if you rank them all.
  4. Dave Meltzer may have lost a step or two - I'm not sure - but Dave Scherer re-solidifies his toxic reputation with tweets like this: I don't know about you, but I'd still trust Meltzer over the fawning sycophant masquerading as a "journalist" who worked for promotions and gave them biased coverage, and whose website used to (and maybe still does) infect its readers' devices with spyware. About the only positive is that he possibly wasn't as bad as Bob Ryder and eventually got out of bed with him, but that's faint "praise."
  5. "The Iron Claw" just became available to purchase for $19.99 on digital platforms such as iTunes and VUDU, and probably Amazon and others. The price will inevitably go down eventually, but if you want to see it now, it's there.
  6. Tyler Bate and Pete Dunne have the worst gear ever. #ButchWasBetter
  7. Triple H is a deadly boring promo.
  8. Sting is still a cool badass wrestling name though. What the fuck is Big Bill? Sounds like any generic henchman in an '80s action movie.
  9. The abruptness of D'Amore's firing makes me think there's more to this story. I just hope it's not related to abuse allegations. Unless some troubling #SpeakingOut news comes out about D'Amore (and just to be clear, there has been no indication of that), there's no way to spin this as anything other than a disaster and TNA once again getting in its own way. At best, Cicione won't be as incompetent as Jim Herd. That's a pretty low bar to climb though. The wrestlers seem pretty heartbroken about it. https://www.cagesideseats.com/2024/2/7/24065482/tna-wrestlers-react-scott-damore-firing
  10. D'Amore is out. Some random useless corporate suit is in. https://tnawrestling.com/2024/02/07/anthony-cicione-named-president-of-tna-wrestling/
  11. Speaking of which, Nancy Davis Reagan was in an incredible movie - Talk About a Stranger (1952) - but nothing about her role was notable. She played a stock '50s housewife. Still, if it ever shows up again on TCM, I highly recommend it.
  12. I'm not sure how true that is. Was it great for Rock? No. But pretty much everyone acknowledges that the DCEU has been a disastrous shitshow for years and Warner Bros. is one now with the Discovery merger and David Zaslav at the helm.
  13. Since no one else started this yet...
  14. Just the overwhelming feeling that it's a diseased and corrupt industry to its very core? Vince, the alleged Jericho/Kylie Rae issue and TK's possible involvement in covering it up, #SpeakingOut, Ashley Massaro, and who knows what else... Yeah, it's a cesspool. FFS, even *I* know who Dan Marino is, and I couldn't give two fucks about football. With that said, I was under the impression that Making the Game was a boring workout book/bodybuilding manual, so that definitely isn't where I heard this story.
  15. Obviously this Vince news is more than enough by itself to get anyone feeling very sad and angry, but is there anything else going on with you? I hope everything is okay. Triple H is King Bubble and always has been. Even has the throne and everything. I think it was Batista's book that mentioned a famous sports star being invited backstage, and Trips (and maybe Steph) having no idea who it was.
  16. Agreed, but they're also me (casually), Kawada Smile, and others who don't do any of shit. Am I taking it personally? No, not at all. I'm just saying. Actually, I was responding to Coffey's post going on a tangent that had nothing to do with what you said, even though he mentioned you, which is the only reason I also mentioned you again. I generally agreed with Coffey's post though. Agreed again.
  17. It's a Japanese proverb that has nothing to do with Vince. But if it makes El-P feel better to white knight and act like he's "above" WWE's audience, so be it. If he wants to say he's above all the Vincels who are defending Vince and shaming his victim, absolutely, I agree with him and agree he is above them. But don't paint everyone else who watches with the same brush. I do agree with Coffey, though, that all of this Rock nonsense is a purposeful distraction tactic. However, people can be bothered by more than one thing and bothered to different degrees about each. There are even a couple of (now deleted) Sami Zayn tweets about exactly that.
  18. GO TO HELL! STRAIGHT TO THE FIERY DEPTHS OF HELL!!! Okay, while I agree with everything you wrote, it has nothing whatsoever to do with El-P's criticism of a random NXT video with a Japanese proverb. Seeing the Vince situation in that is a massive stretch and overreaction IMO.
  19. Exactly how Christian and Mauro must feel.
  20. One person. My GPS points to somewhere in France. No one else nowhere else. I assume Melo will do double duty until the NXT show on WrestleMania weekend and put Trick over strong there.
  21. Okay, Vince invented an ancient Japanese proverb, along with the internet and bitcoin.
  22. I think you're reading into this too much, honestly. Everything can evoke Vince if you think about it hard enough. This is a Japanese proverb, and Vince had to be convinced that Asian women could be hot and Asian porn was a thing. Everyone is expecting Okada, but I'll laugh when it's a revamped Akira Tozawa or *shudder* The Good Brothers.
  23. I'm not watching, but a friend says the fans are hijacking the show with "We want Cody!" chants.
