  1. Nah, Bill Gates is pretty horrible. He’s just way better at PR than an oaf like Vince McMahon. Gates has “donated” several million dollars to various media outlets that all essentially amplify the message of the benevolent billionaire and has served to create a positive perception of him. The Gates Foundation and charter school organizations essentially took a wrecking ball to what was left of the US public school system and has left it, and teachers unions, in shambles (which they were recently forced to admit). He has more wealth now than he ever has. There’s no such thing as a good billionaire. Some are just more obvious carny cartoonish scumbags like Vince and some are more savvy when it comes to media/propagandizing/personal brand-building like Gates, Bezos, etc.
  2. That’s the seal of approval right there.
  3. If Callis was this good on NJPW, I would listen to the English commentary.
  4. These look awesome.
  5. Completely agreed. Of course there’s some trash but it’s unavoidable when they are doing 5 hrs of TV a week.
  6. Road Dogg is good again, y'all.
  7. I like your idea, as well. I'm no fantasy booker but I have also switched to where I feel that Roman can be a top heel if that turn involves Braun since I think he can be a top babyface for a run.
  8. I think Braun's pretty bulletproof and wouldn't be sacrificed by losing in a bullshit way (the only way he will ever lose from here on out, most likely) and then winning the Rumble and belt at Mania. People will ALWAYS buy him in a title shot even if he doesn't win the Rumble. It's a hell of a lot better to have him lose the cash-in to Roman Reigns than Kevin fucking Owens.
  9. Cliche to say at this point but Summerslam may be a great opportunity for a heel turn for Roman. Have him beat Brock in a war. Hardway blood, etc. Of course he'll get booed. Then have him cheat to beat a cashing-in Braun (who will get a massive pop) to keep the belt he has been chasing for so long. Mania main event of top heel Roman vs top baby Braun. Obviously not gonna happen.
  10. Once K-Dawg quoted Huey P. Newton in the promo package before this match, I became an Impact fan. This match was really fun.
  11. Fun, fun show. Glad I watched it, which is all I ask for from a show.
  12. Yeah, I thought Yano/Ishii was pretty great.
  13. I think Becky herself has mentioned that they literally do just get turns being featured in the women's division. Charlotte and apparently Alexa are the only constants. This was said pre-Ronda, who is in a different category, anyhow.
  14. I really expected more discussion about this match. I thought it was terrific and a great appetizer for what will hopefully wind up being a main event program in the near future. Styles is a true ace and it is really driven home in matches like this and the Rusev match. He has to be thrilled to not have Nakamura hanging around his neck anymore.
  15. Among the type of fan who votes in the Observer poll, it’s basically being contrarian to say a WWE show was good. It wasn’t a great show by any means but there was some very good stuff on it. There was also bad stuff. Like 99.9% of all professional wrestling shows in history. I actually expected it to be a more well-received show on that poll since Reigns lost, though, because I do think that it usually is driven by whether or not people they don’t like win. In short, these particular voters appear to want five hours of Omega/Okada.
  16. It certainly seems that way.
  17. This was fantastic. Better than anything on the PPV.
  18. Yeah, I’d say probably better than Backlash and Fastlane. MITB was a really solid show, IMO.
  19. Apparently Jeff Cobb has signed with ROH.
  20. I’m still kicking it around because I would like to see the Lapsed Fan guys at Starrcast but the All In tix haven’t really dropped much yet. I guess there are still some SRO tix left for the AAW show on Friday night, as well.
  21. Anyhow, they'd be nuts to not put the belt on Rusev in Brooklyn. If they're in the moment business now, they don't have any better ones ready and waiting.
  22. Agreed.
  23. It was reported quite a while that he had already signed but whoever reported it (the SI guy, I think) got the money way wrong which cast some doubt on it.
  24. Has it actually been confirmed that Hogan is doing a segment? Hopefully they don't.
  25. I think it has to be Lashley now.
