Highlight of the whole thing was Hogan writing out the match spot for spot on the legal pad. Classic Hogan bullshit that I’ll always love. It would've been great if they ran a forensic analysis on that thing and it turned out to be purely frabicrated bullshit, which I coudln't help but think it was. Still, if it wasn't, it's great that people deride Steamboat/Savage if Hogan/Andre was essentially the same thing. Oh yeah, he definitely wrote that out the day before the interview.

[2018-04-08-WWE-Wrestlemania XXXIV] Brock Lesnar vs Roman Reigns
Zoo Enthusiast replied to cactus's topic in April 2018
The live crowd situation made it virtually impossible for me to really get into the match at any level. I was too annoyed. -
I'm so glad to have read this here - I actually came on just to note how much I think this match is getting slept on. I get it that people expected a squash, I understand that people wanted a squash, but Nia Jax has never looked invincible and Alexa Bliss, at least in my opinion, has lived up to the "5 Feet of Fury" thing by being sneaky and clever and taking cheapshots and shortcuts. As you said, she gouged eyes and went after the legs. Plus, by giving this 10 minutes, I thought it was a nice way to keep the RAW Women's Title looking equal to the SmackDown despite Charlotte/Asuka getting more pageantry, better card placement, etc. A totally above average match that told a great story from beginning to end (love Mickie James getting tossed around early) and gave the crowd a feel-good moment late in the show. I loved this match. This was my favorite feud coming in and I thought they nailed it. Crowd was quiet for a while but they showed up when Nia won.

The Evolve shows are solid but the WWN Supershow was by far my favorite indie show of the weekend. Will write too much or too little (most likely) about everything I've watched from the weekend once I finish a couple other shows, but Ospreay/Riddle was the best match I saw all weekend other than Ciampa/Gargano, and everything on the show other than the women's match was good. I had a blast at both Evolve shows and especially the Supershow. Riddle/Ospreay was the best match I saw live.

Brother, it's already been lost.

Part of my deciding to attend live this year was KNOWING it was going to be his moment, so I was pretty bummed when he lost.On another note, I just finished listening to the reaction show with Zellner and Dem Hales Boys and they had been talking about all kinds of backstage machinations that had possibly taken place before the match. Has any of that been fleshed out further yet? Dave Meltzer said that backstage almost no one knew that Lesnar was going to win. The referee was only told so once he was in the ring. Kris mentioned the idea of Brock sort of hint hint refusing to do the job prior to the match. I wonder why then, if Brock got what he wanted, he supposedly had such a confrontation with Vince afterwards. And how much of this is working the boys bs? I always feel that that's a factor when it comes to Brock. to Yeah, that was my first impression when I was hearing this stuff. They tried too hard to work people when they leaked out the UFC news and it derailed the match even more than it already would have. There were "you both suck" chants very early in the match where I was sitting.

Going to try and track these down.

Seconded. I really haven’t seen any TNA since the EC3/Spud stuff.

[2018-04-07-ROH-Supercard of Honor XII] Cody vs Kenny Omega
Zoo Enthusiast replied to ShittyLittleBoots's topic in April 2018
Being there live in the front row at ringside, the atmosphere was great, but I was pretty much satiated after about 10 minutes. It became pretty obvious that Cody just couldn't take Kenny's stuff and make it look good and that stopped it from being a really good match. It certainly didn't help that the show was just too fucking long, but this match was also too long. And of course by the end, it was just a 40 minute episode of Being the Elite.- 5 replies

Being in the arena that night felt like a prison sentence at times. After the way the show started, I thought we were headed for a nice three hour show. Instead, I was gouging my eyes out four hours later during a half-hour Scurll match that Refused. To. End. I went to nine shows over the weekend. The only ones that dragged for me were the Friday Progress one (just too long) and the ROH one. And yes, that includes sitting through the entire Mania card.

Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 4
Zoo Enthusiast replied to TravJ1979's topic in Pro Wrestling
Amazing range. Almost Jeff Jarrett-esque in that way. -
If she was ever going to have a shot to get over this was the night she had to debut.
-
I don't think it's a unique one. Goldberg was massively over during his streak. Even Tatanka was over. Asuka didn't even come close to Ludvig Borga, of all people. It struck me in the crowd that Asuka was far less over than Charlotte.

Cobb defeats Strickland Joey ryan & Martina defeat Cabana and marty derosa Juice Robinson defeated eddie Kingston FCP Three Way Match meiko © defeats jess havok and Kimber lee AAW Title Match ACH© defeats Trevor Lee Tornado Six Man Tag Team Match the Crists and calihan defeat ar fox, brian cage and janella Matt Palmer won a PWR scramble title invitational match Penta El Zero and rey fenix defeat Jack evans and Teddy Hart AAW and PWR Tag Title Ladder Three Way Match Davey Vega and Matt Fitchett © defeat Aussie Open and Xavier and Wentz Having been there live, this show was a total blast. Far exceeded my expectations. The only less than good show I saw all weekend (aside from ROH having been excruciatingly long) was the CZW show. That also was partly due to a terrible crowd.
-
It was actually WALTER vs Hot Sauce Tracy Williams. Darby Allin had gotten injured earlier in the day during the Progress show on a nasty bump he took outside.
-
Riddle vs Ospreay fucking ruled. I lost my damn mind.
-
I think it depends if youre into Black. Im personally not but the Gargano feud was going to be impossible to follow no matter who challenged after. Im sure the show will be good (obviously Gargano/Ciampa will rule) but Im not as emotionally invested in the card and am fine with being at ROH that night and catching Takeover in the AM.

WWE TV 2nd - 8th April 2018 (Wrestlemania Go Home Shows)
Zoo Enthusiast replied to FMKK's topic in WWE
Because its a lot easier to have them lose and just move them to Raw. They go out of their way to hammer home that they wont be allowed in a Smackdown arena if they lose. -
I hope he does a standing shooting star. (Sarcasm)

So, I assume Brock goes to Smackdown and Owens/Zayn wind up on Raw after Mania since Heyman said this would be Brock’s last time on Raw. Anyhow, I am hyped as fuck for Mania. Hoping Cena is sitting by me. -
I would have been really bummed to be missing NXT if it was a hot title match like Gargano or Strong or something but I don’t really care about Black very much. My buddy got first row for ROH when they went on sale, so that’s where we will be. I am definitely bummed to see Ibushi in that match, though. At least it isn’t Scurll, though.

Yeah that sounds horrific even though I have enjoyed them together a couple times previously.
