I hated Cobb/Gacy in the crowd, very much (I would say it was the worst match I saw live, until the ROH womens title match). And I am a big Cobb fan. Maybe I was already dreading that I was having to go to ROH. We wound up leaving before Xavier/Ospreay and I havent gotten around to it yet, unfortunately.

Definitely. I mean, I assume they were holding out Braun in case they did have to insert him in the main for some reason, like Roman legit getting popped in some PED scandal or Brock flaking out. When they didn't have to, they went for something that would at least be memorable for Braun, while also not entangling him in something meaningless long-term, I guess?

And people would have bitched up a storm. True, they're bitching about Nicholas too, but at least that was unique. Jose would have been a profound disappointment. His debut 24 hours later was met with apathy or at least a mild shrug (maybe not by the live crowd - I don't know - but it certainly felt like he got an "ehh, ok" reaction everywhere else). Plus the Nicholas thing had a lot easier out than using an active wrestler would have. The point wasnt to have Braun be in the tag division after Mania.

Is that on Austin's podcast ? I'm quite curious about it. I've heard Austin before talked about how odd that seemed to him because he basically had no submission hold in his repertoire apart from the old Million Dollar Dream that he actually busted out at the Garden too, leading to a pin (that was something, but not enough). Then again, one can argue that the I Quit gimmick, with the live mic, can be obtrusive to the style of match Austin & Bret would want to have. Especially after Bret & Backlund laid an egg with the same stipulation. So, that was a way to have one guy having to quit while not getting a mic in the way (well, plus putting over Shamrock's character, like I mentioned before) Its Edge & Christians. I think Braun can pretty much be whatever they want him to be right now. Though it’s going to get harder by the day to have him be a heel unless they have him slaughter Bryan, or something.

Starr is way, way up on my list of faves. Saw him have what I thought was a really good match vs Juice Robinson at the CZW show on Saturday.

I agree. I actually had no problem with her losing, per se, just that she seemed so invulnerable going in that it didn’t click for me in the crowd that she could actually lose. Obviously that is partly my fault but the build was so meager that I didn’t think she’d lose.

Shoot almost jumped the rail myself (about four seats to the left of Papa) when Gage came out of the crowd during the Supershow. So that made it good for me.

It would be a solid move but I have my doubts that the WWE can be patient enough to let that build for a year.It wouldn't surprise me if Summerslam or the Survivor Series is as long as they could execute a build between the two without feeling they had to have the match happen. If they can do a full build to Mania that would be great, but I'm skeptical. I think an easy first interraction is at Survivor Series as the captains of their respective teams who manage to never touch during the match. That is, if they want to keep treading water with Charlotte on Smackdown, which has been pretty tedious now for at least 6 months.
