It definitely has played into my subconsciously being disinterested in their product for quite a while, even though I have gone to a few live shows over the years and am going to the NOLA show. I haven’t watched their TV in years.

All In is on Saturday and its not tough to get from Vegas to Chicago.

It’s a shame the visa problems happened. I don’t know a ton of their work outside of PWG but their run there is some of my favorite stuff.

Mate, we're basically stealing it at this point. Unbelievable how much content we're getting for $10. The vault is building up nicely. I'm never cancelling my subscription no matter how uninterested I'am with current WWE. It also adds value literally every month. I am sure it won’t be super long before they eventually do roll out the long-rumored tiered pricing but even then it is likely to remain a steal.

Its a point in its favor, really. It has been a mutually beneficial relationship, though.

They draw really great when they get Omega. They've never drawn more than 3,500. 6k for ROH is unprecedented even if the announcement for Omega-Cody spiked ticket sales. Seems highly unlikely they'd ever draw this number if they're not running the same market the same weekend as a major WWE event. This article lists the capacity at 5,162. Joe Koff is an old school wrestling promoter, so you have to factor that in as well. It will be very interesting to see what happens in Chicago. Last time they ran Chicago the show sold out practically instantly when they announced Omega for it and probably could have sold a couple thousand more if the building could hold it, speaking as someone who was in attendance. The All In show being announced has seemed to hurt the sales for the May 13 Chicago show the last time I saw, though. ROH pretty much sucks but All In isn't an ROH show. They sold a ton for the NOLA show because fans knew who was going to be there before they announced matches. We got our front row tix for it because we got them right when they went on sale. I am guessing we could sell them for a few hundred bucks at this point.

83 Weeks with Eric Bischoff
Zoo Enthusiast replied to flyonthewall2983's topic in Publications and Podcasts
If it’s 83 weeks of watch-alongs, there is no way they will make it to the end. This is some of my favorite stuff ever, so I will definitely give this one a try but I can’t say I am overly optimistic about it because of how much of a tool Bischoff generally comes off as. -
That would be great.

Doubful considering the Raw champs will be BRAUN and his mystery partner by then. Some kind of multi man match announced for Raw. Sami and Owens are signed by Kurt; Owens pins, idk, Scott Dawson. He and Sami rush off through the crowd and Braun obliterates every opponent and even his team mate. That seems like Raw after Mania booking to me. Yeah, there are certainly plenty of ways to do this that don’t involve having Bryan losing his comeback match, or even having Shane turn on him, for that matter (which honestly makes about as much/less sense as Bryan turning would, considering Owens/Zayn have been his nemeses going all the way back to the fall). They’ve already mentioned a shakeup coming right after Mania so they could even have Owens/Zayn off of TV briefly. I think Mania is shaping up like an old school “night for the good guys” and I am all for it. Bryan, Reigns, Strowman, Kurt/Ronda, and Nia should all be winning, off the top of my head. Plus the two Smackdown singles title matches both essentially being babyface vs babyface, at least in the builds.

Oh yeah, that is terrible. Kelly does really do his homework and try to do a great job, though. Japanese commentary is always the correct choice.

The Bucks/Being The Elite are cool and ROH smartly latched onto that. They'd be delusional to not realize that. If the card was Dalton Castle, Jay Lethal, Punishment Martinez, and a bunch of the other standard ROH guys, it's not drawing anything.
-
It's going to get there pretty easily.

After I get back from New Orleans and need a breather from modern stuff, this is on my agenda.
-
I believe they've solved that by taking the cues off most of his matches (although I think some have cues but don't use his name). I do wonder if part of the issue with playlists is the way video is organized - it's all in the full cards, and not individual videos. Even when you click a searched video you're pulling up the show. Yes, that is the stumbling block right now. The idea usually shows up in the surveys that they send out occasionally, so hopefully it happens.

The JR/Barnett duo is atrocious. Kelly/Callis are pretty bad but if you want to watch with English commentary, they are the only option.
-
I'm just now starting to realise how restless I'm going to be sitting by myself watching the show with no commentary for 47 hours. I can’t wait to see it. It’s also undoubtedly part of why I am optimistic about the Bryan stuff.
-
Not saying that it always has to make sense in any way, just that this particular instance seems like a bridge too far. I think Bryan is victorious at Mania, with whatever happens with any kind of turning, firing, etc. happening after the fact. Something stupid like Seth Rollins cashing in during the night they had allegedly built around Roman was speculation that I could see as feasible. Turning Daniel Bryan heel on his first night back just isn’t. He’s the permanently-over babyface that you use to turn other people heel.
-
I think a huge thing that would make the Network truly incredible as a resource for stuff like this would be adding user-curated playlists that allow for individual matches to be added. You can search for feuds and stuff but it’s still a touch wonky.

There gonna be 10 hrs of podcasts for this that I can listen to on the plane to NOLA?
-
IMO, the matches in 2018 NJPW have not been very good so far. I did love Sabre’s run through the Cup, though.
-
They just attempted to kill him on TV a week ago, though. It would be one of the dumbest things ever.

I’m thinking the Starr thing is a work. -
Chosen Bros tags are fun to watch.
