Christy Hemme is the newest member of TNA creative. I knew they were going to pay for Aries humping her face last year, at least they prevented a court filing.
-
It's probably going to play out a lot like TNA, but I'm looking forward to more wrestling on my TV. If they try to go after Duck Dynasty's audience instead of Vince's they might be on to something.

There are a bunch of indy feds scrambling right now to book Rhino vs Zeke in a deactivated ECW championship unification match.

Rewatching Brock/Taker, and it's not bad at all. They're both working their asses off, and Heyman is fantastic. The crowd just wasn't buying it, which made the finish even better. The commentary team is actually foreshadowing the loss heavily, in a different way than other years where they tried to sell a possible loss.

One of the biggest laughs we had last night was when Cesaro slammed Show out of the ring with relative ease then had trouble lifting the trophy up.

Hunter's entrance killed me. He needs to be sitting on that throne in all of his backstage segments from now on. His warmup jacket from the end was great too.
-
I hope there's some kind of closure tonight. A Flair/HBK style sendoff is probably off the table, but something. The idea of seeing him walk out like that last night not to be seen until he goes into the HOF would be sad.
-
If that's how Taker wanted to go out good for him. I'll have to give the match a rewatch, but it totally lost the group I had over. I didn't know I could have such a visceral reaction to a three count at this point. Hopefully they get a lot of use out of Brock this year.
-
And that's why you need a buffer match.

Stephanie screaming breakfast club lines at Bryan got the biggest pop so far with my party. She's on fire.
-
The audio improved for me as soon as the tag match started.
-
If there is some kind of twist with the finish it would probably be that Brock has the match won, and someone, I wouldn't even begin to speculate who, attacks Taker to end it in a dq. They can say they're protecting the streak so they can beat it next year, and then feud with Brock in the interim.

Something as touching as Jake's speech followed by midget fight/groin injury is why I love wrestling.
-
Great video, although it was awkward the way they cut around having to show Cena job to Bryan.
-
I think Flair mispoke, although he clearly doesn't mind taking shots at people. It was also a little odd that he's still pointing out how weird garbage wrestler's are when he essentially became one the last six years of his career. They should only use him as a talking head for network shows where they can edit out stuff like this.
-
They should've stayed with the Mania 10-14 song permanently.
-
I'm really happy for Bryan, and I have a feeling once the bell rings I'll be way more excited about Taker/Brock than I thought I'd be. There's going to be a lot of fun nostalgia stuff, so it'll be palatable for the casual fans I have over to watch. Even though there may not be any classics on the card, I think 30 will go in the good Mania pile.

I've been having semi-annual Mania parties for the last five years. I'm having people over, but I'm definitely leery about the network stream. Does anyone know the difference between the stream that you purchase on a game platform or mobile device and the network? Are they the same one?
-
I saw an old thread on Wrestling classics where a guy nonchalantly said he had Flair/Robinson on tape, but didn't know if he'd get around to watching it. Everybody lost their minds making trade offers, but I don't think he responded.

Thanks funkdoc I just watched some clips of ESPN's "Pro Wrestling's Hold on America" special from about fifteen years ago. Hogan, Nash Bischoff, Jericho, RVD, McMahon, and a few others are grilled about drugs. Everyone looks bad, except for Meltzer. I know hindsight is 20/20, but even when I watched this at the time everybody sounded insincere or naive.
-
He doesn't own the footage, but he recorded it on his own VCR going back to 79, and a lot of what's traded comes from his master tapes.
-
I've been watching all of the WCW pay per views starting from 1990 on the network. I just got to Great American Bash 91. Is it worth going through the rest of 91, or is it as brutal as I've heard? Is there another good starting point, maybe in 92?

I love Piper. As whacked as he is he seems to have made a pretty normal life for himself outside of wrestling, which is no small feat when you look at his contemporaries. That said, there's rarely even glimmers of what made Piper great in his promos now. They'd be better off doing "In the Bunkhouse" with Dusty Rhodes segments. Now there's a dude who can still talk.

I wish they'd done the battle royal a few years ago so heel Bryan could've won it. Him carrying an oversized Andre trophy everywhere like Owen with his slammys would've ruled.

The only other instance of the name Ryback to my knowledge is Steven Seagal's character in Under Siege.
