  1. Damn, never noticed such similarity between Arn and Kevin Owens before seeing that photo.... Looking forward to the episode, Kris.
  2. Shouldn't kick a man when he's down/gone, but I listened to the whole thing. A sense of dread, then disbelief at his rambling came over me. 'Does this man really think any of this is worth listening to?', came into my head a few times.
  3. Oh, he's gone? His podcast was a bit bonkers too.
  4. I was a bit sceptical but this worked out really well. Is it MSGs, PPVs and SNMEs going forward from Jan 85 then, or any other shows in the pipeline?
  5. Cheers. I listen to most of the show but Lucha Underground isn't my cup of tea.
  6. Any chance of timestamps, please?
  7. Can you list all of your results? I enjoyed it but had trouble keeping up and processing the info while listening, thanks.
  8. Really liked the new carny talk.
  9. Ok, now these are interesting. Three enthusiastic fans with amusing introduction stories to get us settled in, and then a really good break down on 06/09/95. Also enjoyed the second episode, although I have to admit to being more an AJPW/NJPW first fan when it comes to puro. Any progress with episode 3?
  10. Would it be possible for you two to make a top 15-20 matches list from your series, maybe at the end of 1988? I've followed along and watched most of the highly pimped stuff, but seeing how they all rank collectively for you both would be interesting.
  11. That's funny. No, just wanted to give the show a bit more attention here, that's all.
  12. There was an issue with Bobby Blaze cutting out around the 2 hour mark on this originally but I see that it's been fixed. Good Top 10 so far, Bobby bringing plenty of fresh stories. It highlights that Brian could do with a larger selection of regular co-hosts.
  13. http://605pod.com/2016/11/13/episode-51-talk-promoter/ The Superpodcast returns with another pier sixer of an episode, as The Great Brian Last is joined by former Smoky Mountain champion Bobby Blaze in the co-host chair. This week’s episode features: – An extensive conversation with Bobby Fulton. Bobby talks about working in Stampede and how his look changed after an injury in a riot. Bobby shares his observations and memories of the 1983 Jerry Lawler/Lance Russell split from Jerry Jarrett that almost happened. We hear about his teaming with Terry Taylor as the Fantastic Ones in Chattanooga, what Junkyard Dog told the locker room in Mid South before he left for the WWF, how the Fantastics quit WCW and much more! – TGBL & Bobby Blaze discuss Bobby’s career, including his training by the Malenkos, his time around Karl Gotch, his friendship with Sean Waltman, his escape from South Africa with help from the United States Embassy, growing up watching Memphis & ICW, beating Jerry Lawler for the SMW championship and more. Plus we hear talk about wrestling mimes, shoot backdrops, pretend wrestlers and more! – We have part three of our look at classic John Tolos audio from 1971, during his famed heel run in Los Angeles. – Stuttering Tommy Rich and Impressionist Jim Ross raise the stakes in their feud! This is the longest episode in Superpodcast history, so CALL SOMEBODY! Time Stamps: Superuniverse Top Ten (0:07:18) Fantasy Booking (2:39:27) Here and There (2:45:34) John Tolos audio (2:56:54) Bobby Fulton (3:15:22)
  14. Too early? So far, I've heard speculation about Lesnar-Goldberg, Lesnar-Shane, Taker-Cena, Styles-Cena and Jericho-Owens. Anything else out there yet?
  15. That's a fair assessment.
  16. I love the discussion part of the long topic lately. Two pundits taking an amusingly serious approach to a wacky world.
  17. Quote There's a really strong RVD v Furnas match?
  18. Returning to this, you might want to hang in there for the stories about the origins of Undertaker. Best part of the show.
  19. Yeah, I was thinking about that too. Nice big long Survivors matches, as nature intended. Only other things so far are Lesnar-Goldberg and Dolph v ?????
  20. Can't argue with all that, but here's another - match length. 4 matches (including very long 10 team matches at each event) worked nicely in 87 and 88. Without the tag team match in 89, it moved to 5 matches in 89. No complaints about feeling rushed on any of the first three years. In 1990 you're moving to 6 matches (plus gobbledgooker), resulting in rapid fire eliminations and nothing really given time to breathe.
  21. Why did you like it, Matt? I thought it placed limits on booking the undercard (to ensure a decent heel/face divide) and went against Vince's trope of not liking tournaments because you can't promote the final match.
  22. Anyone who is put off by the "wackiness" should at least skip ahead to the interviews, they are always great The wackiness can be the best part where some great stories come up that have nothing to do with the original line of questioning. I call this section the "lucky dip". That's true. This week there's great stories about Jerry Graham in the top 10. However, for newcomers, I can understand 2 hours for the possibility of good stuff being daunting. Tom Prichard interview was great.
  23. To be fair it's easily missed - it was only when looking out for it in the shot that I spotted it.
  24. Glad to hear you'll be doing Survivor Series 88 soon. The Warrior v Honky and Roberts v Andre team matches were always clipped on UK release, I only got around to watching them in full today. Jake earns his high ranking on your GWE here, Kelly.
