  1. I didn’t get to watch live tonight. Please tell me you’re joking. Good lord. He could have just said Dynamite and not put any company in front of it. Sigh. Did he do this kind of stuff when he was doing commentary for New Japan on AXS?
  2. No offense taken. That’s part of it. Setting aside time on Monday Night to watch wrestling can be a bit of a habit. If I’m going to have free time to watch wrestling I’d like it to be good wrestling.
  3. Thanks for the comments everyone. Gives me some stuff to go check out instead of Raw.
  4. Did ECW ever have a signature match? Examples of what I’m talking about is NWA/WCW had Wargames, WWF/E had the Royal Rumble and Hell In A Cell, TNA/Impact had Lethal Lockdown and Ultimate X, etc. I know they used triple threat/3 way dance matches a lot, that’s the closest thing I can think of but I’m not an ECW expert by any means.
  5. Ric Flair never became the Nature Man. As long as he keeps the gimmick Jungle Boy is fine.
  6. I know they put Andrade with Vickie because they want him to be booed but it’s the wrong kind of heat.
  7. Lol at Konnan telling Tully he’ll need to learn some Spanish to talk to his grandkids. Pretty obvious that FTR was posing as Proud and Powerful as soon as they came out, but I like this feud.
  8. Missed the first few minutes of the show but Hangman Page vs Powerhouse Hobbs has been pretty good so far.
  9. I used to be this way about comics, buying them out of habit and hoping for things to get better but nothing ever really changing. So I dropped the habit about 12 years ago. I still read older stuff, pick up thing I hear are good, but I don't worry about continuity or feeling like I have to keep up with everything anymore. I'm in the same place with WWE. I stopped watching regularly, but I keep up with it, mostly online. I check out things I hear are good, and I watch the older stuff. I was never a hate watcher/reader, I just wanted it to be good. Once I gave up hope of it being good, it was time to let go.
  10. I was there in 92-96, in Southwest Virginia Flair was a big deal, and everyone knew the big names like Hogan, Savage, Warrior (if for no other reason than the slim Jim commercials and other media). It wasn’t huge, but it wasn’t really shunned or made fun of either. Local wrestling events were held at my high school and the VFW, and more people liked it than not.
  11. Don’t say that. They’ll put the entire NXT roster in polka dots.
  12. WWF/E maybe but there’s some good stuff in 92. (Flair, Savage, Warrior, Bret, Bulldog) WCW had the Dangerous Alliance in 92 that’s great, Flair returning in 93, Flair vs Steamboat and Hogan coming in 94, Nitro starting in 95.
  13. If the stock price is the most important thing then yes, the empire is crumbling. Like popping the territory, there are only so many tricks you can pull to elevate the stock price. As long as the product is terrible, eventually it will catch up to them.
  14. Looks like Lio Rush hurt his shoulder at Double or Nothing and is retiring.
  15. As of right now no. They are keeping it as is.
  16. That’s part of my point. They didn’t do that with Austin or Piper. They won’t do that with Hogan if they do one on him. It’s bs. This isn’t Dark Side of the Ring. They chose to not even mention the negative stuff for anyone else but they spend a big chunk of the Savage documentary talking about it. They give Bubba The Love Sponge a bunch of air time to talk shit about Savage. Who gives a fuck what Bubba The Love Sponge has to say? It’s crap. It’s McMahon still holding a grudge after all these years.
  17. I didn’t watch the Randy Savage A&E documentary but just reading about it pisses me off. A self destruction of the ultimate warrior level hatchet job, except Savage is dead and can’t defend himself or get his WWE ordained ‘redemption’ when the company graciously accepts him back. It’s despicable garbage and pretty much the final nail in the coffin of me giving a damn about any wwe produced bs from here on out. Fuck them.
  18. That is interesting.
  19. Benjamin has the win over Triple H on Raw that they can show, plus highlights of the Shawn Michaels match that was really good too. Other than the stuff with Angle and WGTT he’s never really been involved in any big memorable angles or gotten decent pushes.
  20. Looks like Impact is offering a couple of months of their service free including the PPV tonight if anyone is interested. https://impactwrestling.com/rebellion2021-landing/?utm_source=paidsocial&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=rebellion&fbclid=IwAR1gsDmuCxBOPXzz2WLJBFrMFdSkn-yXqqA1oHHgcg9rFYtpB_AkKn_sgio
  21. Just saw that. He said it’s gotten so bad he can’t even sign his own name anymore.
  22. Watching Wrestlewar 92, anyone know what the story was behind the Ron Simmons/Junkyard Dog vs Mr. Hugues/Cactus Jack tag match? Cactus takes out JYD before the match leading to it being changed to a Ron Simmons vs Mr. Hugues singles match. Was JYD injured? Some storyline reason to take him out?
  23. It's getting coverage in music circles, which is pretty cool. https://pitchfork.com/news/pixies-where-is-my-mind-is-orange-cassidys-new-aew-entrance-theme/#:~:text=Pixies' classic Surfer Rosa song, extremely laidback star Orange Cassidy.
