  1. So much can happen in an hour. Luger explains his actions. A full on heel Lex Luger with Ernie Ladd could be very dangerous. Sean Royal is getting noticed. Really, really cool seeing Mascaras and Atlantis show up here. I liked that segment with them and the Devils Duo. Big Bubba could get his big break here. Dr. Death and Abdullah have one heck of a brawl to end the show. I wonder who's going to team with Doc against the crazy team of Abdullah and Haku. And my highlight here was the Dibiase/JYD angle. That was classic Mid South at it's best.
  2. I wonder who the reps will be next week and who's walking out bald? Man, Kernodle is really getting over in his heel role as Canadian International Champ. It was fun seeing Frenchy in action but things didn't work out so well for him. The Blond Outlaws are causing some havoc. Garvin, Embry and Andre are really starting to stir things up. Looking forward to Garvin and Borne at the Bash. Southern Ramblers get a big win over the Rougeaus! Looking forward to your Bash card. A lot of intriguing match ups here.
  3. Whoa! What's going on with Andre here??? Is this the beginning of heel Andre? I'm with Dawho as I enjoyed seeing Pez Whatley show up and get a win. OMG and Bundy is just to cool. I hope to see more of this. Seems Martel is still hurting but just wont quit and even gets the win here. The heat between Sunny and Adias just gets hotter. I wonder how Kernodle is going to feel about this. If Garvin and Embry have the services of Andre, watch out Lutte!
  4. Yokota is champ! She earned that with a victory over Sherri and then the final win over Nagayo. I have to give Nagayo a lot of credit, she took a horrible beating from Dump and was still able to put up a fight in the finals. Love the aftermath with Sato getting the itch and immediately wanting back in. Already sets up a hot program. Excellent job and I'm excited to read and learn more.
  5. I just caught this and ending up binge watching (reading) all your shows. Man, this is really great stuff! Luger as champ, Levy finding is way, Horowitz involved in angles, an intense Ron Simmons, Armstrong rift, stacked tag team division, Morton and Eaton battling for the TV title. New rejuvenation gimmicks for Nord, Shaw, Bomb and Payne. ECW favorites like Sabu and Sandman. Of course having Sid around is a bonus. Backlund in ECW is surreal and awesome at the same time. Keep up the good work and I'm defiantly going to keep reading.
  6. Whoa! Didn't see that shocker coming. Luger and Baby Doll aligning with Ladd??? Wow! Fun seeing the Kerry/Nikita feud crossing over in different territories. Another great way to build up their huge WCCW Bash match. Are we seeing a different side to Landell? I wonder if he's being genuine or does he have something up his sleeve? Long Riders have a good showing and strong Promo. Cuban Assassin will be a fun heel here. The US Express getting into the thick of things as they have a showdown coming up with Ole and Ivan. A Fab Ones/RnR Express feud could be epic!
  7. That show was so much fun. I love that the GAEA brings a whole new dynamic to this game. The woman really shined here. Solid opener with Yokota and Gonzales with a classic German suplex pin. Always been a huge fan of Sherri so nice seeing her advance and Bobby Heenan is a pure bonus. Nagayo scores the upset but man Monster Ripper looked impressive here. Richter is another favorite but the odds were just to much to handle as Dump advances. What an exciting tag match to end the show. The crowd was pretty hot for that one. Hopefully we get a series of matches between these two teams.

  9. MACW trades Tom Prichard to Portland for Mark Lewin
  10. Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling News A lot of mid year changes are happening in MACW. The biggest news was the departure of Hacksaw Jim Duggan. Duggan came in for a 3 month deal and the Crockett's wanted to make the most of him and they certainly did. It was reported that the Duggan/Dibiase program drew huge houses on the way to their Great American Bash steel cage match. The Crockett's wanted it stated that Duggan was not obligated to work past July 1st but he said he would do the job to Dibiase on July 2nd before he left. The Crockett's said Jim Duggan was the ultimate professional and is always welcomed back. The Great American Bash was a tremendous success as Memorial Stadium drew 30,000 fans. The Crockett's wished to thank all the other NWA promoters who sent in talent for the event. They wanted to also extend a special thank you to the AWA for letting them showcase their world title in a special attraction match. The event will be released on video cassette within the next few weeks. New wrestlers arriving on scene recently are Tommy Rich, Bad News Brown, Bull Gantner, The Great Gama, DJ Peterson, George Wells, Chris Youngblood and The Stampede Rush. Leaving are Harley Race, Bob Backlund, Pedro Morales, Jimmy Golden and Spike Huber. The Crockett's wish all of them the best of luck. They wanted to especially thank Harley Race and his outstanding run as Mid Atlantic Champion. As for the new guys coming in, Tommy Rich has already won the TV title. Bad News Brown will be in a high profile feud with King Kong Bundy. The Crockett's have high hopes for Bull Gantner who's coming off a strong WWF Run. They are going to give him the Dusty Rhodes rub and he's even slated to be in WCCW's War Games match. They are also pleased to be bringing in International stars like The Great Gama (Gama Singh) and Stampede Rush (Duke Myers and Kerry Brown). Be on the look out for DJ Peterson. The Crockett's were impressed with his energy and charisma. Chris Youngblood is returning and will team with his brother Mark as the Renegade Warriors. Art Crews winning the NWA National title was quite a shock and certainly caused some changes. First, he will be now known as Arthur W. Crews and still sport his bleach blonde crew cut. Ken Timbs will now be teaming with Master G George Wells as the Fabulous Blondes. Rumor has it there might be a tad of dissention in Riddle's Agency as Tom Prichard was the top guy but with Arthur winning the National Title along with Prichard losing the TV title (to Tommy Rich) he's seemed to have dropped down a notch. We'll see how this unfolds. Other changes were made with the Assassin's group as Tom Brandi will be heading to Portland. The Crockett's were very pleased with Brandi's progression and think Portland will be a great territory to continue his progression. The Cobra and Kazuo Yamazaki will be the Assassins and the Wildman Jack Armstrong will be wrestling as The Flame. Ted Dibiase is really getting into the Million Dollar Man gimmick and is taking it to a higher level as he will own the contracts of Rick Rude, Manny Fernandez and now King Kong Bundy. The idea here is that Dibiase is not really an actual hands on manager but that these are wise business investments. Behind the scenes him and his lawyers will make sure these men are granted opportunities. Dibiase will make sure his investments are well taken care of so he can reap the benefits. He will also use them as obstacles as well. Big plans for JJ Dillon. The Crockett's were so pleased with Dillon's work during the 10,000 dollar King Kong Bundy angle that they have another new program lined up for him to get over. The Crockett's have been throwing around the idea of adding Mid Atlantic Tag Team Titles. They feel there is enough tag team competition to justify the titles. The Crockett's are working on the next big supercard, set for the Fall. One idea being pitched around is a Bunkhouse Battle Royal with the winner getting a US Title shot at Starrcade. However, this could change as another idea for Starrcade is a champion vs. champion main event between the US champion and Mid Atlantic Champion.
  11. Wild night in Amarillo! Southern Boys and Super D's is a classic territory style tag team match. Hot Stuff Inc is back in a big way. Gilbert even hits the Hot Shot for the pin. Fun feud going on here between Wrestling 2/3 and Tojo's stable. Looks like Tojo has a new guy but Akira comes out to even the odds. Street and Adonis lived up to the craziness but what really cracked me up was seeing Percy and Linda going at it. This feud is going to be a lot of fun. Crazy 6 man unification match! Oh man, Nikita nails Kerry with the sickle! Great set up for their Bash match. RnR Express continue their impressive National Tag Title reign. However they have a monumental task ahead with Brody and Hansen. We'll see if War Games will settle things between Dream and Funk. Insane main event. The Russians and Ole are wrecking havoc in Texas! Crazy seeing Dr. D being the victim of not one but two brutal beatings tonight. All roads are leading to the Great American Bash.

DJ grabs Sharpe's legs then hits a diving headbutt to the mid section. DJ applies the Scorpion Deathlock! Sharpe submits and the Ref signals for the bell. The fans cheer as DJ jumps up and down while shaking his fists. Sweet Brown Sugar and 'Boogie Woogie Man' Jimmy Valiant vs. The Assassins w/The Assassin The Assassins are subbing for the Southern Ramblers tonight. Rip Oliver vs. Blackjack Mulligan w/Paul Jones The bell rings and the brawl is on. Jones is still on the apron yelling. Oliver swings Mulligan to the ropes and clotheslines him, then charges and knocks Jones off the apron! Oliver stomps on Mulligan and drops several elbows. Oliver's momentum is stopped with an eye rake and body slam. Mulligan gets his shots in. The fight goes back and forth and eventually both men fight through the ropes and to the outside. The Ref is counting while Oliver and Mulligan tear into each other. The Ref counts to 10 and signals for the Double Countout. The bell is ringing but they keep fighting. Jones is still in a daze. The fans cheer as they keep fighting around the ring until officials come out to break it up. TV Title Bout Tommy 'Wildfire' Rich (C) vs. 'The Doctor of Desire' Tom Prichard w/Rock Riddle These two are giving the fans their money's worth as they go back and forth. 13. And the War Games match is set! Awesome promos by both sides. Awesome anticipation leading up to this historic match. Nice preview with the fun 6 man main event that of course ends in chaos. I cant tell you enough what a tremendous job your build to War Games has been. Always great seeing Brody and Hansen teaming up. Hot Stuff Inc. returns in full force. Fun battle royal as a lot of feuds continue to develop here. Adonis and Street should be a very interesting program especially in WCCW. I like seeing Kendo back in action in this game. Gilbert and Houston should be an exciting match for the TV title.
  14. Entertaining offers for Tom Prichard.
  15. MACW @ WTBS Studios TV (Recorded 7-9) Aired 7-12-86 The show opens with footage from Greensboro as Jimmy Snuka officially becomes the number one contender to the United States Title by winning an 8 man tournament. Schiavone: Hello again everybody and welcome to another edition of Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling. With me as always is David Crockett. David as we saw at the top of the program, Jimmy Snuka is the number one contender to the US title. Crockett: Great news for the Superfly. I understand he will get his shot at the US title next month in Greensboro. Speaking of the US champion, I understand The Million Dollar Man Ted Dibiase will grace us with a live appearance in the studio today. Schiavone: Should be interesting. Lot's of action in store today. Sweet Brown Sugar takes on Randy Rose of the Southern Ramblers. Also in action will be The Flame, Hot Property, The Fabulous Blondes, Tony St. Clair. Crockett: Austin Idol will be in the ring, as well as the Caspian Empire. DJ Peterson and The Great Gama will be making their Mid Atlantic debuts. And in a blockbuster main event, Tommy Rich will defend the TV title against former champ, Tom Prichard. Schiavone: Well fans...wait a minute what's going on here? Boos come from the fans as US Champ,Ted Dibiase walks out with JJ Dillon and King Kong Bundy. Dibiase is getting some serious heat here. Dibiase: You peons keep your mouths shut and that includes the two of you (looking at Crockett and Schiavone). I understand Jimmy Snuka is now the number one contender to my US title. I have more pressing issues right now so I'll address that 2nd rate loser another time. You know, there's a reason I have so much money and that's because I'm a very shrewd and savvy business man. Now, I'm happy to say I have worked out a deal with another brilliant business man, James J. Dillon. A very historic deal, perhaps, literally the biggest deal in history. Today I have officially acquired the contract of one King Kong Bundy (the laugh) Big smiles from JJ and Bundy. Schiavone: Oh my! Dibiase: Oh my is right. Everybody saw the recent theft committed by Bad News Brown. That criminal steals 10,000 dollars and gets away with it! I couldn't let that happen to a great man like JJ Dillon. JJ has been fully compensated plus a whole lot more. King Kong Bundy is the most destructive force in wrestling and is worth every penny I paid. King Kong Bundy is one of my greatest investments. Rest assure JJ, Bad News Brown wont get away with this and he will be taken care of. JJ: Mr. Dibiase, I want to tell you what a pleasure it has been doing business with you. You certainly wont regret this. (JJ arrogantly smiles) I myself have an investment in mind. Mr. Dibiase, here is the official contract of King Kong Bundy. Once again, a pleasure Sir. JJ hands Dibiase the contract, shakes hands with him and Bundy, then exits. Schiavone: I cant believe this. King Kong Bundy, any comments? Bundy: Hey! Mr. Dibiase is going to make me a wealthy man. But don't think for one second I'm going to get comfortable and soft. Bad News Brown! We have a score to settle and it's going to end with you getting the Avalanche! Bundy heads to the ring for his match. Dibiase: (Laughs) As always, money well spent. Just look how my other investments are doing, I'm talking about the Awesome Twosome. You see, I don't have to come out and escort my men to the ring. They don't need guidance. They win matches and we all make money. Simple! Well, Gentlemen the pleasure was all yours. (looks around) Jeez, I hope I don't have to come back to this place for a long time. King Kong Bundy vs. Tim Straw Bundy charges and mows down Straw. Bundy swings off the ropes and drops a giant elbow. Bundy picks up Straw, swings him to the turnbuckles and charges in with the Avalanche! Bundy grabs Straw and throws him to the center of the ring. Bundy swings off the ropes and hits the Big Splash for the pin! Commercial Break Crockett: I still cant believe what we just witnessed. Ted Dibiase has purchased the contract of King Kong Bundy. Dibiase now owns the contracts of Bundy as well as Rick Rude and Manny Fernandez, the Awesome Twosome. I have to hand it to him, those are good investments. Back to the ring. DJ Peterson vs. Lou Simms DJ gets the crowd going as he swings Simms to the ropes and hits a Power Slam! DJ grabs the legs and hits a diving headbutt to the mid section then wraps Simms up in the Scorpion Deathlock to get the submission! DJ pumps his fists to the cheering crowd. You saw what my Blondes did to those B level so called champions. The Fabulous Blondes are going to be wearing the gold real soon. Speaking of gold, by the end of this program, Tom Prichard is going to get back his TV title. Right Tom? Prichard: You said it Rock. They turn around and hold up their fists. Sugar intervenes and plays peacemaker. They all head to the podium. Oliver: (looking at Valiant) Listen Valiant, there's no reason in the world for you to trust me. However, I will give you just one valid reason...Paul Jones. It seems we have a common enemy. I'm sure Sweet Brown Sugar wants in. I'm in! So, Valiant, if you want to help in the fight, I'll fight side by side with you and I'll earn your trust! The fans cheer as Valiant looks out at them. Sugar: Boys, you know you can count on me! Jimmy, we need you brother. Valiant: Sugar, we're brothers, you know I'll always back you up. Oliver, the past few months I've despised you, however lately you've shown some good qualities against a man I have a bitter hatred for and yes I'm talking about Paul Jones. Sugar says you're ok, then I'll give you the chance. I'm in! The fans roar as Valiant and Oliver shake hands. The fans boo as Brad Rheingans comes over. Brad: Whoa, wait just a minute. Great? They call you great? That's funny because, watching from the back, you didn't look so great to me. As a matter of fact you might not even pass for mediocre. I'm the Professor of wrestling, so I know. Schiavone: Stop causing trouble, this isn't your time Mr. Rheingans, it's Great Gama's time. They pound away on Sheik then double body slam him. They pick up Sheik and throw him through the ropes, then do the same to Smirnoff. The fans cheer as Myers and Brown raise their fists to them. Commercial Break Crockett: Ok, order has been restored. Wow that situation between the Caspian Empire and Stampede Rush has gotten out of control fast. Speaking of out of control. Last weekend, Tiger Jeet Singh attacked the Mid Atlantic Champ, Paul Orndorff during a tag team match. I want to take you to some comments made earlier by Tiger Jeet Singh. Singh: I've told everybody here that I abide to no rules! I see something I want and I will take it! This so called Mr. Wonderful calls himself a champion? He's a pretty boy and I mess up pretty faces for a living! Your title will soon be mine! As for that other pretty boy, Tony St. Clair, on July 19th I will finally finish you off. Anything goes! This match is a playground for me. I end you on the 19th St. Clair and then I get your title Orndorff. Nobody is safe from the wrath of Tiger Jeet Singh! 16. Cant beat a show that starts off with Andre. Man, Sunny paid a huge price on that interference. 6 Man tag would of been a lot of fun as Savoldi gels well with the Bees. Jacques gets a big win over OMG. Tough night for OMG as he even gets attacked after the loss. I bet the crowd loved Charland's win over Ole. Once again, Kernodle retains.
  17. Garvin makes a huge TV debut here and makes his intentions known, then backs those intentions up with a piledriver. The SST/Fab Ones match was awesome. SST is really becoming a top NWA team. Hot Property represented MACW well with a huge win over the Harts. The Adias/Sunny feud continues to build tension and heat. Wow, looking forward to the Blond Outlaws and what they stir up here. Southern Ramblers have given the Road Warriors some good matches but once again the champs prevail. What a way to end the show. That dirty Kernodle manages to once again barely hold on to that title. Poor Jacques, pretty heavy penalty laid on him. Expect the unexpected in Lutte.
  18. Great follow up show. I like the comeback wins for the guys who came up short on the stadium show. Fun seeing the announcers back in full force tonight. Owen Hart's promo was outstanding and his segments are getting close to Chicky Starr level. Speaking of Starr, he continues to crack me up and in his mind, he does bring up some valid points LOL. Fun main event and the ending surprised me a bit as Medicos and Mantell score the pin. Big time matches announced for the next stadium show. Colon and Abby in a fire match! Mantell/Jaggers in the cage! Just those 2 matches make this card insane! I'm sure the build will be another wild ride.
  19. MACW releases Spike Huber
  20. Fun cards in Texas. Smart booking having Wahoo beat Barry in a strap match. The fans in Houston must of blown the roof off the place when Duggan showed up. TV starts off hot and we find out later Savage will be out of the picture for 30 days. I wonder who Barry's next challenger will be? You can count on Tonga Kid to get a crowd going. I love your booking of the Russians and that finisher was insane. Studd makes a dominant statement here. I'm all for a Studd/Wahoo program. Wow what a debut for Muta! A Muta/Hart match will be off the charts. Liked the Tully/Atlas match. Cool seeing Atlas and Bravo teaming again. The show ends with a bang as Hacksaw Duggan returns in a big way! It seems like a lot of alliances might be forming to take on the Horsemen.

Rock Riddle (Manager) 49. Paul Jones (Manager) 50. Jody Hamilton (Assassin, Manager)
  22. MACW releases Pedro Morales
  23. Martel's win over OMG is big and puts him right back in title contention. Road Warriors retain but for me their opponents were the story here. What a combo with Graham and Ole. They might of done alright if Ole hadn't of walked out. Ole is making a lot of enemies of late. MS-1/Cobra, Goto/Satanico and Lane/Brunzell are a string of exciting and fast paced matches that must of kept the crowd hot. Kernodle continues his reign. Borne gets a huge win over Jacques but gets a surprise attack from Jimmy Garvin. Very interested to see where this goes.
  24. Exciting 2nd hour that brought out top stars everywhere. Magnum needed some help and boy does he have it. Magnum, Lawler and Kerry vs. Nikita, Ivan and Ole will be a blockbuster of a main event. Boone isn't just going away as Wright found out. Things just seem right seeing Big Bubba with Cornette. Fun main event but what a shocker seeing the Fab Ones align with Ernie Ladd. Ladd made some serious waves with this move.
  25. Welcome back Jack! Jack is the perfect commentator for the UWF and Buddy Landell found out Jack still has some fight left in him as well. Ole explains his actions and looks like Magnum has an uphill battle here. Fun seeing Sean Royal debut here. Good young talent. Liked seeing Killer Brooks get a win. Rotunda and Kendall make a solid team. Kendall will benefit from Rotunda's experience. I enjoyed seeing the Devil's Duo pop up here. I really think they're an underrated team. Haku and Dr. Death going toe to toe was a highlight. Long Riders are a great fit with Wright. I can see them being a serious threat to Jarrett and Armstrong.
