  2. Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling News Huge news in MACW! Magnum TA will be leaving Mid Atlantic this month. Magnum will finish out his bookings before his departure. The Crockett's are very sad to see Magnum go but think this will be a great move for him and his career. Magnum just finished an epic run with the US title and is currently involved in a major feud with Ric Flair and the 4 Horsemen that will culminate on March 11th, when Mid Atlantic returns to the Omni with a big card. The Crockett's wish Magnum all the best and said he's welcomed back anytime. They said Magnum was nothing but a true professional and class act. The Battle of the Belts was a big success and sold out the Eddie Graham Sports Arena. The Crockett's said dealing with NWA world champ Rick Martel was a absolute pleasure and quickly booked him for the Omni show to defend his title against Mid Atlantic champ, Harley Race. Fans raved about the Martel/Gordy main event and plans are underway for another encounter. The big surprise of the night was Ric Flair defeating Magnum TA for the US title. Speaking of Flair, apparently him, Tully and Arn still have money issues with the Crockett's. They're still upset at the amount of money being thrown out at the international stars. They found out the battle of the belts pay offs for Stan Hansen and Antonio Inoki. The Crockett's again told them that's the price they have to pay to bring these guys in and that they are special attractions. The Crockett's insisted the Horsemen got top dollar for the card. Ric, Tully and Arn disagreed as they made as much as the Road Warriors and Freebirds. On top of the money issues, Flair feels that winning the US title should set him up with an automatic rematch with Rick Martel. His frustration is growing as he hasn't heard anything about this from Bob Geigel or the NWA. They're are rumors that other promotions outside the NWA have made calls to Flair and the Horsemen. More on this as it unfolds. Some big names are coming to Mid Atlantic. Former AWA world champ, 'Mr. Wonderful' Paul Orndorff is coming in and he's coming in with a bang as he will clash with none other than Bruiser Brody on March 11th at the Omni. That's some way to make a debut. Hacksaw Jim Duggan is also on his way. MACW thinks his rugged style and star power will make a tremendous impact. Another wrestler coming in with some buzz is The Cobra. His innovating style has fans intrigued. He'll get a golden opportunity to showcase his talents on March 11th as he takes on the legendary Mil Mascaras. March will be a big month for MACW, as NWA Canadian International Champion Jacques Rougeau will come in on March 22nd to defend his title. Also, Raymond Rougeau and Kevin Von Erich will be coming in for US title matches against Ric Flair. Mid Atlantic is very pleased to be working with other territories in the NWA, as it gives their fans the chance to see these big names up close and in person. Look for Alexis Smirnoff and the Iron Sheik to start teaming up as the Caspian Empire. MACW's next super card, Clash of Champions: Spring Spectacular, will take place on April 19th at the Baltimore Civic Center. Stan Hansen is scheduled to appear.
  3. Great show! I like this fired up Richard Charland. Man, Satanico getting his head shaved was a true heat moment. Look at Owen bending the rules. Seems like his new attitude has carried over to here. Thanks for showcasing Mid Atlantic, appreciate that. Moolah and Richter was a classic. Tough night for the Rougeaus in Victoria. Fun to see Garvin and Embry get a win over here. Even after getting his head shaved, Satanico gets a big win over Tommy Rogers. Martel looks like he's back on track.
  4. Yea Spivey is on fire! He's becoming a huge deal in Fantasy and I love it. So good seeing Tiger Mask. I remember reading all about him in the Mags and its great seeing him in action on here. You can tell White and Simmons are heading for big things in Japan. Really liked the Shaw finish, must of been an awesome visual. Tsuruta, Yatsu and Hase looked strong.
  5. MACW @ The Civic Center Greenwood, NC Special Live show 3-2-86 Schiavone: Hello again everybody and welcome to a live edition of Mid Atlantic Championship wrestling. My partner David Crockett is in Louisiana as he attended the Crockett Cup tournament yesterday. First off, I want to congratulate the Midnight Express on winning the Crockett Cup, 1 million dollars and the NWA National tag team titles. David told me it was an outstanding night of action and said Bill Watts did an impeccable job with the event. There's a big stir in the crowd as JJ Dillon leads out the four horsemen. They're all dressed up as Flair has the US title on his shoulder and the Andersons are wearing their NWA tag title belts. JJ: The first thing you should of mentioned Schiavone was the historic night the horsemen had at Battle of the Belts. We don't take a back seat to anyone, got it! Ric Flair soundly defeated Magnum TA to win the US title. The Andersons beat up the Road Warriors to successfully defend their titles then finished the job yesterday at the Crockett Cup and Tully here finally gave Michael Hayes his comeuppance. The 4 Horsemen are riding high, now sit back and keep your mouth shut Schiavone because Ric Flair has a huge announcement. Schiavone smiles, shrugs and nods. Flair: Whoooo! The question everybody has is what's causing all this? I'll tell you, it's the 4 Horsemen brother. I mean just look at us, are we styl'n or what? Now that sore loser Magnum TA shot off his mouth and issued a challenge. 10 man tag match on March 11th at the Omni. Oh Magnum you should of just licked your wounds and headed to a safe haven. Right now is the moment everybody has been waiting for. Who will be the Horsemen's partner? Tully, Ole, Arn, I told you this man can ride with the Horsemen, let me tell you, not only can he party like a horsemen but this guy gets the job done in the ring horsemen style. You boys remember when I was in Puerto Rico? Ha Ha, let me introduce you to our partner, the one and only Chicky Starr! Schiavone: Oh my, I cant believe it! Chicky comes out in a suit and sunglasses and all smiles. Ric shakes his hand and hugs him then introduces him to JJ, Tully and the Andersons. They all shake hands, smile and pat Chicky on the back. Ric: Wait a minute! Boys, do you know Chicky here has his own segment on TV? It's called the Sports Shop. Oh man lets make this historic. Chicky would you host a impromptu Sports Shop? Here and now? Chicky: For an important moment like this and for important people like the 4 Horsemen, it would be my pleasure. Flair: Whoo! Schiavone, take a hike! Flair gives Chicky, Schiavone's mic. Chicky: Gracias Ric, it is my pleasure to be standing here with an elite group such as the 4 Horsemen. It's great to meet all of you and I'm sure we will get to know each other a lot better when Ric takes us out on the town tonight. I want to say if any of you are ever in Puerto Rico, I will drop any guest I have and you can come on my show. Then later we will party like I know you all can. They all laugh and nod. Chicky: It will be my privilege to team with you and to beat up a dirty low life like that Magnum TA. You guys and me go so well together. The Andersons are fighting tag team champions just like my cousin Ron and I. Tully is great in ring worker just like me. Just like me, you guys like the fine clothes, the jewelry and all the money. And just like me, you guys like to have titles and take care of business in the ring. Ric, you made this all possible and I cant wait to team up with the 4 Horsemen. I don't care who that Magnum gets as his partners. They cannot stop all of this greatness. What do you guys think? Tully: (smiling) I like you. Ric, you've outdone yourself. You couldn't of picked a better partner. I like the way you talk and the way you strut and the way you dress. You've got horsemen written all over you. Ole: You're something else alright, if you can back up that talk then you're ok in my book. Arn: You think like a horsemen and I can tell you're elite and confident. That's what being a horsemen is all about. Come March 11th it's gut check time and Magnum is severely lacking in that department. Chicky, you on the other hand seem to be full of guts. Welcome. Chicky: Gracias amigos, I wont let you down, count on that. Ric, take us out. Ric: Whoo! Magnum, you see this group? No matter who you get, it wont be nearly enough. Boys, Chicky, time to hit the bars and they're staying open all night for us. Whoooooo! Commercial Break Schiavone: That was something else. A bombshell announcement as Chicky Starr will team with the Horsemen. Now, listen to this, Magnum TA will announce his partners at the end of the program. Stay tuned for that. Lets go to the ring. Tony St. Clair vs. Vic DeMarco Tony looks sharp in his television debut as he back drops Vic then follows with a heel first drop kick. Tony gets up on the top rope. Vic staggers to his feet and Tony hits a cross body block for the pin! Tony acknowledges the cheers then heads to the podium. Schiavone: Very impressive television debut for Tony St. Clair. Tony, let me officially welcome you to Mid Atlantic wrestling. You got the pin at Battle of the Belts but it seems that Billy Robinson still has some issues with you. Tony: First of all, I'm so happy to have finally arrived to this great country. It's been a dream of mine for a long time and I'm looking forward to wrestling the great competition here in Mid Atlantic. Now I still don't know what Billy's issues are with me as I've always respected him. Now its come to a point where enough is enough and its time we settle this thing in the ring. I've requested a rematch and it was granted. We're not done yet Billy and you'll be seeing me again on March 11th at the Omni. Schiavone: Ok there you have it, the rematch is set. Fans, back to the ring. Spike Huber vs. Carl Hillman Huber takes off his construction helmet and Charlotte O's tank top then gets down to business. Huber takes Carl over with a series of arm drags and dropkicks. Huber swings Carl to the ropes and hits the powerslam for the pin! Commercial Break Schiavone: Fans, with me right now is the Assassin along with his tag team, the Assassins. Assassin: Tony Schiavone, the havoc has begun and people will soon see what this devastating team is all about. The future of wrestling is standing right here and they're going to the ring right now to show you just what I'm talking about. Assassins w/The Assassin vs. Aaron Arbuckle and Lloyd London The Assassins just manhandle their opponents with body slams, punches, chokes and stomps. Assassin 1 picks up Arbuckle in a bear hug then slams him back, head first on the turnbuckle. Assassin 1 tags in 2. Assassin 2 jumps off the top rope with a knee drop and gets the pin! Schiavone: Impressive win for the Assassins. Speaking of impressive, my guest right now is Mid Atlantic Champ, Harley Race. Harley you successfully defended that title against Wahoo McDaniel at the Battle of the Belts but then you got involved in the NWA world title bout. Now, its been signed, you will face Rick Martel on March 11th at the Omni for the world title. It looks like you got what you wanted. Harley: I'll get what I want on March 11th, Schiavone. Rick Martel has been ducking me for months but not any more. All I did at Battle of the Belts was send him a message. I know you got that message Martel. Harley Race was standing right there, looking down at you, letting you know I'm coming for you. You thought Terry Gordy was tough, just wait until March 11th at the Omni. You will see what tough is all about. Schiavone: Ok strong words from Harley Race, fans when we come back Rocky Johnson takes on Bob Roop. These two have been going at it so it should be quite the fight. Commercial Break Rocky Johnson vs. Bob Roop Roop charges Johnson before the bell rings but Johnson blocks his punches, shuffles his feet and hits Roop with a series of punches. Johnson body slams Roop, jumps up and hits a standing leg drop. Roop kicks out of the pin attempt. Roop takes control with an eye gouge and rake. Roop slams Johnson down then chokes him with his boot. The Ref tries to get Roop to break but Roop pushes him down. The bell rings and Roop is disqualified. Roop continues choking Johnson. Roop drops a knee then goes out and grabs a chair. Roop slides the chair into the ring, climbs in then picks up the chair but Johnson gets up and dropkicks the chair into Roop's face. Roop falls back against the ropes and Johnson follows with another drop kick, knocking Roop out of the ring! The crowd is going wild as Johnson holds up his fists. Schiavone: Oh my that was a wild one and looks like their feud is far from over. Fans joining me right now is Rock Riddle and his Agency. Riddle leads out Tom Prichard and the Fabulous Blondes. Riddle: Tony, I'm out here to TCB baby. Take care of business. Now you saw that B level team, Nightmares didn't even make it out of the first round of the Crockett Cup. If my Blondes were in there, they would be a million dollars richer right now! We want the Nightmares and we want a title shot! Now the Doctor of Desire has something to say. Tom: Thanks Rock, Terry Taylor, boy, you got a fluke win over me at Battle of the Belts. I had the match won until that dumb timekeeper messed everything up. I deserve another shot and everybody knows it. So here's the deal. You and me, March 11th at the Omni and if I don't win the TV title then I'll leave Mid Atlantic for good. I'm putting it all out there and all you have to do is put up that TV title. Are you man enough Taylor? Riddle: The Agency wants answers Schiavone. You hear me? The Blondes want the Nightmares and Tom here wants Taylor. The Agency gets what we want. Commercial Break 'Wildcat' Wendell Cooley vs. Tim Straw Cooley swings Straw to the ropes and nails him with a back elbow then follows with an elbow drop. Paul Jones comes out and is scouting the match. Cooley picks up Straw, hoists him over his shoulder then hits the Oklahoma Stampede for the pin. Jones looks impressed as Cooley stares down at him while the ref is raising his arm. Johnny Rich w/Paul Jones vs. Steve Ramsey Rich and Jones smile at Wendell Cooley and let him by as they head to the ring. Rich hits Ramsey with a running knee, Rich hops up on the 2nd turnbuckle, jumps off and lands a fist drop for the pin. The fans boo as they head to the podium. Schiavone: Ok, solid win for your man Johnny Rich. Now, Mr. Jones it looks like Brett Sawyer and Hot Property have an alliance. I think maybe your man Johnny Rich and the Devil's Duo should be a little worried. Rich: Hold on there Schiavone. Worried? Why? I've already beaten up that Sawyer and do you really think those two pretty boys are a match for the Devil's Duo? Jones: That's right Johnny. The Devil's Duo are the toughest tag team in Mid Atlantic and they cant wait to mess up the faces of those two pretty boys. As for Sawyer, I guess he just loves getting whipped again and again by Johnny. He must love punishment. Schiavone: Well I guess so because I've been informed that on March 11th, your man here will face Brett Sawyer in an anything goes Alley Fight. Jones and Rich are livid. Jones: Johnny Rich should be getting a title shot! He's already beaten Sawyer from one arena to the other. Ok Johnny, I guess on March 11th you will just have to finish the job once and for all. Rich: I can guarantee you that Paul! Schiavone: Fans, you wont want to miss that card at the Omni. In addition to everything you heard tonight, Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorff takes on Bruiser Brody in a block buster match up. Also on the card Mil Mascaras takes on the Cobra. March 11th at the Omni, Be there! When we come back Pedro Morales clashes with David Sammartino. Commercial Break Pedro Morales vs. 'The Great One' David Sammartino David spent most of the early moments running from Pedro. When Pedro finally caught him, he unleashed a flurry of punches. Pedro swings David to the ropes and punches him in the stomach which flips David over. Pedro continues to dominate as he back drops David then body slams him. David tries to run out of the ring but Pedro pushes him into the ropes and rolls him up but David carries the momentum and rolls Pedro over, grabs a handful of tights and gets the pin! The fans boo as David exits the ring and jumps up and down in excitement. Commercial Break Schiavone: Before he goes to the ring, my guest with me is the TV champion, Terry Taylor. Well, Terry you heard the challenge by Tom Prichard. Your TV title or he leaves Mid Atlantic. Taylor: Tony, I told you I was going to be a fighting champion and answer all challenges. Tom, I beat you at battle of the belts and I'll beat you on March 11th at the Omni. Yes, I accept! TV Champ Terry Taylor vs. Tim Straw Taylor hits the jaw breaker on Straw then hoists him up and falls back with a vertical suplex. Taylor hits a knee drop from the 2nd turnbuckle and gets the pin! Taylor holds up his TV title to the cheering crowd. The Fabulous Blondes nail Taylor from behind then double body slam him. Tom Prichard climbs up on the top rope and hits Taylor with a diving splash! Riddle kicks Taylor then holds up Prichard's arm to the booing crowd. Commercial Break Schiavone: Ok fans, Terry Taylor was helped out by officials. Another cowardly act by Rock Riddle and his Agency. I'm sure Taylor would love to send Prichard packing. Fans, I want to show you a video of a man who will be making his Mid Atlantic television debut in the near future. Lets take a look at Austin Idol. A video is shown of Austin Idol in ring clips to the song of 'Do you want to touch me' by Joan Jett. Schiavone: Mid Atlantic is excited to have Austin Idol arriving soon. Fans when we come back we will hear from Magnum TA and I'm sure he has some big announcements. Commercial Break Schiavone: At this time please welcome out Magnum TA. The fans roar as Magnum comes out limping a bit. He waves to the fans. Schiavone: Magnum, great to have you and looks like your doing a lot better. I understand you just arrived and have some very big news concerning the big 10 man tag team match at the Omni. Magnum: Tony, I'm feeling a lot better. I told all these people I wouldn't come out and cry about losing my US title and I wont. I would like to say that I gave 100% every time I stepped into the ring to defend that prestigious title. As for right now, I owe the 4 horsemen some serious payback for that parking lot attack and Tony, it looks like I'm going to get it. JJ Dillon, the worm that he is managed to get out of the match. Ric Flair thinks he put me in checkmate by going to Puerto Rico and picking up Chicky Starr. Well Flair, I have an ace up my sleeve. I just got off the phone with somebody who would love to be on my team. Matter of fact he would love to go at it with Chicky Starr because they go way back. The man teaming with me is connected right now on satellite, he is the Universal champion, Carlos Colon! Colon: (via satellite with a big smile) When Magnum called me and told me Chicky Starr came to town and is teaming with the horsemen, I gave him a yes before he had to ask. Oh Chicky, it will be a lot of fun to fight you over in the States. Chicky, Flair, we have unfinished business. Magnum: (smiling) You like that Chicky? If anyone's got your number it's Carlos Colon. You know something Tony, it turns out the horsemen have a lot of enemies. Which brings me to my next partners. Ole and Arn, you know them well. We got them on satellite, the UWF tag team champs, the Road Warriors! Animal: Andersons! You cost us the Crockett Cup! Magnum has given us this golden opportunity for sweet revenge and we cant wait to beat up the so called most dominate group in wrestling! When your talking domination, you're talking about the Road Warriors! Tell them Hawk! Hawk: Well! Andersons you pulled a good one on us last night but this fight has just begun! We're gonna break every bone in your bodies and just for kicks we're gonna break that pencil neck of Blanchard's and then we're gonna take Flair's head off with a clothesline! Domination is coming! Schiavone: I cant believe this! Carlos Colon and the Road Warriors! Magnum who can possibly be your last partner. Magnum: Glad you asked Tony. I needed somebody crazy and I mean really crazy. I called him first and he sent in these comments. Tony, my final partner is Terry Funk! Terry: (pre recorded) Of course I'm gonna team with Magnum. He's given me the chance to get my hands on those egg sucking dogs, the Andersons. I also get to beat up that bleach blond, banana nose Ric Flair. You all might of left Texas alive but at the Omni, your all going to be put down! Schiavone: Magnum, you have indeed put together an incredible team. March 11th will be a historic night indeed. Magnum: I've assembled the best team possible. We're coming to fight and rest assured not one member of our opponents will be standing when its all said and done! Schiavone: Fans we've got to go. What a match that's going to be. See you next week. Omni, Atlanta GA- March 11th NWA World Title Bout Rick Martel © vs, Mid Atlantic Champ Harley Race 10 man tag team match Ric Flair, Tully Blanchard, Ole and Arn Anderson, Chicky Starr w/JJ Dillon vs. Magnum TA, The Road Warriors, Carlos Colon, Terry Funk Special Attraction Matches 'Mr.Wonderful' Paul Orndorff vs. Bruiser Brody Mil Mascaras vs The Cobra Alley Fight Johnny Rich w/Paul Jones vs Brett Sawyer TV Title, if Prichard loses he leaves Mid Atlantic Terry Taylor © vs. Tom Prichard w/Rock Riddle Tony St. Clair vs. Billy Robinson
  6. Count me in as loving the Andre/Hansen match for WrestleMania! SNME was such a great set up for WrestleMania. Liked Fridge coming out and great idea having him in Hogan's corner at WrestleMania. Demolition and Fuji together spells danger for the tag team ranks. I'm really enjoying the Roma/Powers problems and looking forward to the blow off. Sting is on the verge of a breakout. Once again, loved the SNME promos, Dibiase's was classic.
  7. Awesome main event! Also that Windham/Hennig match looked outstanding. The Fab One's are having a nice run with the tag titles. Savage/Valentine looked pretty good and Windham keeps the heat going on his feud with Savage.
  8. A big thank you from MACW for giving Hot Property a great push. This will be a great confidence boost. I'm sure Dundee will want some answers from Street. This environment is such a great setting for all these different characters. I have a feeling Eddie Gilbert is going to bust loose soon.
  9. Yep, Rougeaus and Harts stole the show tonight with that epic match. Perfect opening match, that must of really got the crowd going. Hoping to see another Adonis/Charland match.
  10. Wow! What can I say, the Crockett Cup delivered! What a night of action and surprises. Slater takes home the Continental Title as Gordy goes insane on Dr. Death and Duggan. Nikita beats Lawler! Man, didn't expect that tonight but then again Nikita has been an unstoppable monster. Can anybody stop him??? The Crockett Cup tournament was outstanding. Every match told a great story as all of these teams went all out. The Funks, RnR Express, Von Erichs and Stud Stable all looked great. I thought the Road Warriors were going to take it until those no good Andersons interfered. They better watch their backs. Congrats to the Midnight Express! They put on an awesome performance tonight and deserve the National Titles. Great job!
  11. Another fun and well balanced card. I really like the Furnas/Burke match. Cameron looked strong. Bam Bam gets a great AWA win over Gagne. Loved the tag title match. I wonder when the inevitable blow up between Bock and Larry Z will happen. Tanaka and Pillman is all kinds of fun. I also like the Tanaka push.
  12. MACW would love to have Stan Hansen on April 12th and April 19th.
  13. I'm with Edger, that match alone would get my money. A couple of stacked cards coming. Looking forward to them.
  14. LOL "Wanna go pretty boy" classic! Keanu as the ref was all kinds of awesome. Maybe in a few years we can get him and Swayze for Bash at the Beach. The Texas Death match would of given me my money's worth and then there's an epic dog collar match as a bonus. Sawyer and Cactus is a dream feud for me. The Razor boys are looking razor sharp as they proved they're contenders. Steamboat with another strong title defense. Steamboat and Rotundo I'm sure put on a classic. Great card!
  15. Hmmmmmm maybe there's more to Embry than I thought LOL. Love the Jimmy Jack/Leatherface wild confrontation. Also like the four way feud going on between Dr. D/Bad News/Dutch and Garvin. You can go in a lot of directions with those four. Gilbert/Ice Man are in a heated rivalry over the TV title. Kamala with a huge win over Kerry. Really good title defense for Martel with a victory over Funk.
  16. Oh snap, Larry Z upsets Martel, that was a shocker! However, Larry Z as the AWA Canadian champ should get some serious fun heat. Wow, Bam Bam with a decisive win over Mando. Steamboat gets a good first title defense against a very credible veteran in Leo Burke.
  17. SpiveyMania is running wild! Man he really deserves this title. You did such an excellent job with his build. I think we're heading for a Bock/Larry Z showdown. Looks like Slaughter has some strong allies. Sullivan is bringing out the brutality of the Varsity Rush .I like the Perez/Diamond team and Tanaka proved he's no fluke. Very curious to see who takes on Bam Bam.
  18. Thanks everybody, yea I'm really looking forward to the 10 man tag and I'm sure all of you will get a kick out of the Horsemen's partner. But don't worry, Magnum has some heavy hitters coming in.
  19. Man the wheels are in motion for a lot of fun angles. Martel sure had a busy couple of days. Proves what a versatile champ he is. I would love to see Duggan and Tonga go at it. Benoit's involvement with Los Infernales is very intriguing. Liked the teaming of Roop and Kamala. What a fun 6 man with Charland and the Stud Stable going against Adonis and the Nasty Boys. I love how it's everybody against everybody here not just standard faces versus heels, adds a lot of possibilities. To follow up on Martel/Gordy, I figured this match would set up a huge blow off and with the history of this rivalry happening in Lutte, I think it's only fitting the conclusion should happen there. Martel/Gordy 3 will sellout any venue. A big thank you to Edger for helping me set up Martel/Race.
  20. Post Battle of the Belts Recorded Promos Jim Crockett: Hello fans, first off I want to thank everybody involved that helped make battle of the belts a successful card. Also, thank you to all the fans for coming out and supporting Mid Atlantic and the NWA. Now, I had a long conversation with the Referee of the Magnum TA, Ric Flair US title bout. He was very clear that Magnum never submitted but that he made a judgment call to stop the match. He saw the amount of punishment that Magnum's knee took and knew his career was in jeopardy. I agree with the call and it's a shame the knee injury was the result of a horrible attack by the four horsemen. I want everybody to hear comments that were made earlier tonight after the card and I'll address this situation further. Magnum TA: (On crutches) Tonight I lost a title that was very dear to me. A title that I defended with honor and pride. Now I'm not going to sit here and cry about it and throw myself a sympathy party. However, I can be upset about the fact that the parking lot attack had a lot to do with this! You couldn't beat me straight up Flair, No! You and your henchmen had to do a job on me. So instead of dwelling on my loss tonight, I'm going to dwell on getting some serious payback! I owe all the Horsemen and that worm JJ Dillon some payback! So here's the deal, I want all of you in the ring. I'm talking about a match with myself and four partners going against the four horsemen and that coward JJ Dillon. I know all of you are short on guts but if you have just a little then lets do this. Ten man tag match, survival of the strongest! But to tell you the truth, I don't think any of you have the intestinal fortitude to meet this challenge. Ric Flair: (surrounded by JJ and the Horsemen with the US title on his shoulder and head bandaged up) WHOOOO! I told you what I was going to do and I walked that aisle tonight and did it. Now Magnum, you sore loser, I heard your comments and I was right, you're stupider than you look. What, you don't think the most dominant group in wrestling wont accept the challenge from a whiner like you and his four underachieving friends? Guess what pal? We accept! However, JJ Dillon is not a wrestler, he's a licensed manager. Our argument was heard and our request was granted. So I will be handpicking a partner for the four horsemen and boys do I know the right guy for this job. I'm telling you all, you will love this guy, defiantly horsemen material. So Magnum, pal, you better call in the cavalry because you're not coming after the horsemen, WHOO, the horsemen are coming after you! WHOOOO! Jim Crockett: Ok after hearing both sides I'm making it official. On March 11th at the Omni, Magnum TA and four partners will face the four horsemen and a partner of their choosing in a 10 man tag team match. Also on that night, Rick Martel will defend the NWA World Heavyweight Title against Mid Atlantic champ, Harley Race. It should be an outstanding night of action as Mid Atlantic returns to the Omni in Atlanta.

  22. Watched the video. Man what a lost art. That's how wrestling should be. Straight up bad guys acting like bad guys. You really thought these guys just hated each other and that shows how good everybody was at their craft.
  23. LOL that Hansen match description was hilarious. Fantastics put up a fight and seemed to have earned some respect from the fans. Fujiwara gets a pretty big win over Baba. I liked the Fuchi/Chono match. I think this could develop into a nice rivalry. I love your writing style and a bit of what's going on behind the scenes such as your explanation of Brody and Hansen and Mil Mascaras. Your description of the main event was well done and so realistic.
  24. MACW @ WTBS Studios TV taped 2-20-86, Aired 2-22-86 Schiavone: Hello again everybody and welcome to another edition of Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling, with me as always is David Crockett. David before we get to our show, we have some disturbing footage to show the fans. Crockett: Very disturbing and I'm disgusted by the actions of the 4 Horsemen along with JJ Dillon. This transpired earlier this week in the parking lot of the Rec Center in Shelby, NC. It was prior to a card where Magnum TA was set to appear. I guess we should show the footage. Footage from Shelby N.C. JJ Dillon is holding a hand held camera while talking. JJ: Magnum has put his hands on me for the last time. He's been a thorn in the Horsemen's side for far to long. Now he and everybody else are going to find out what the 4 Horsemen are all about. Ok boys, there's his car. Magnum pulls up and gets out. The camera moves closer then you see the Andersons, Tully Blanchard and Ric Flair run over and attack Magnum. They punch and stomp him down on the pavement. They all start kicking his left knee. The Andersons hold Magnum's leg as Tully continues to kick away at the knee. Then Flair walks over. Tully and the Andersons pick up Magnum and hold him. Flair slaps Magnum a couple times then picks him up in the shin breaker position and drops him down on the hood of his car. Magnum is screaming in pain. The Andersons hold Magnum's leg out as Flair drops several knee drops down on Magnum's left knee. The Horsemen continue the assault until security runs out. Back Live Schiavone: David, I don't know what to say, I'm shocked by the actions of the 4 Horsemen. I don't know the extent of the injury but I know significant damage was done. Crockett: Indeed, just a despicable act and right before Battle of the Belts where Magnum will be defending his US title against Ric Flair. Magnum has insisted he will be in Orlando to defend the title. I don't think its a good idea but he wants nothing more than to get his hands on Flair. Here's what Magnum had to say just yesterday. Magnum: (Sitting on a table with his knee wrapped) Nice job Horsemen but you didn't finish it! Ric Flair, If you think this is going to keep me from defending my title against you at the Battle of the Belts, you better think again! Not only am I going to be in Orlando but I promise I'm going to make you pay and pay dearly! You made a grave mistake Flair and I'm gonna make you pay with your blood! Schiavone: Wow, a very intense and down right angry Magnum TA. I'm worried that Magnum's emotions might be getting the better of him, not that I blame him but I just don't want to see his knee permanently damaged. Crockett: I agree, its obvious by the Horsemen's shameful actions that Ric Flair is worried he cant win that US title on his own merit. What a shame. Schiavone: Well fans we do have a great show lined up as Ivan Putski will clash with David Sammartino. Also in action will be Jimmy Snuka, Hot Property, Pedro Morales, The Devils Duo, Brett Sawyer and the team of Corporal Kirchner and Don Kernodle known as American Made. We will also hear from a number of wrestlers who will be competing at the Battle of the Belts. Speaking of Battle of the Belts, its been made official, Rick Martel will defend the NWA World heavyweight title against NWA National Champ, Terry Gordy. That should be a barn burner. Crockett: No doubt about that. Martel has been a fighting champion and Gordy has been on a tear since winning the National Title. We will also be hearing from the tag teams representing Mid Atlantic in the upcoming Crockett Cup tournament. The fans cheer as the Nightmares come out. Crockett: Here's one of the teams now. Welcome back boys. Davis: Good to be back David, we'll get right to the point. Rock Riddle's Fabulous Blondes put us out of action for awhile but now we're back! Wayne: That's right and we want those Blondes! So we've agreed to put our Crockett Cup tournament spot on the line, here, tonight! Crockett: Ok, there you go, the Nightmares will put their tournament spot on the line against the Fabulous Blondes later tonight. Oh my! Well lets go to the ring for our first match. Pedro Morales vs. Tim Straw Morales is on fire tonight as he hits Straw with a running knee then finishes him off with Caribbean Cannonball for the pin! Commercial Break Schiavone: With me at this time, Rock Riddle and Tom Prichard. Riddle: Oh Tony what a glorious day it is for the Agency, not even these booing 2nd rate losers out here will dampen my mood. Speaking of 2nd rate, that B level tag team the Nightmares actually did something right and accepted my Blondes challenge. I can tell you right now, the Fabulous Blondes will get that tournament spot and then go on to the Superdome and win everything at stake. Can you imagine what the Agency will do with 1 million cold hard dollars? Schiavone: No, I cant imagine. Riddle: Of course you cant, a guy like you wouldn't put that money to good use. That's why your holding the mic for me. Now, this man here, the Doctor of Desire Tom Prichard is going to Orlando this weekend and he's going to win the Television title from another B level competitor, Terry Taylor. Tom: (Laughing) Tell them Rock. Taylor, you cant run and duck me any longer. It's you and me baby and when its all said and done I'm bringing that TV title to the Agency, right where it belongs. Riddle: Oh Tony, it's great to be around true A list professionals. Schiavone: Unbelievable, fans lets go to the ring. Hot Property vs. Lou Simms and Roger Murphy Travis and Savoldi look sharp tonight with quick tags and high offensive moves. They double hip toss Simms and crash down on him with a double leg drop. Murphy runs in but is met with a double punch. The finish comes when they swing Murphy to the ropes and hit him with the double Hot Shot for the pin! Crockett: Impressive win for Hot Property and the fans here have taken a liking to that pair. Fans I want to take you to a pre recorded interview with the longest reigning British Heavyweight Champion in history, Tony St. Clair. St. Clair: You know, I couldn't wait to get here to the States and compete against the best in Mid Atlantic. Mid Atlantic, the NWA and Crockett's showed me the upmost respect. It's to bad it was tainted by Billy Robinson. Billy, I always had the highest amount of respect for you and for some reason you had to stoop low and attack me at my Press Conference. Ok, I guess the lines have been drawn. At Battle of the Belts I'm going to show you what I'm capable of and you might be surprised at what's in my arsenal. Commercial Break Brett Sawyer vs. Larry O'Meara Brett hits several standing drop kicks then body slams O'Meara down. Brett goes to the top rope and finishes off O'Meara with a flying leg drop! Schiavone: Ok, great win tonight Brett. A few weeks ago Johnny Rich put you down with some brass knuckles courtesy of his new manager Paul Jones. However in Ashville, you got a measure of revenge, lets take a look. Ashville Footage Brett runs to the ring and nails Rich with Brass Knuckles. Brett exits and Austin Idol drops an elbow and pins Rich. Back Live Schiavone: I guess turnabout is fair play. Brett: I call that sweet revenge! So Johnny Rich is aligning himself with that rat Paul Jones? Doesn't matter one bit because Paul Jones wont be able to help poor Johnny... The Devil's Duo and Paul Jones come out. The Duo level Sawyer and start stomping away! The fans cheer as Hot Property run out and start wailing away on the Duo. The two team are fighting as Sawyer regroups. Sawyer grabs Jones and drops him with a fist! The Duo grab Jones and run out of there. Sawyer shakes hands with Travis and Savoldi. Commercial Break Crockett: Well, looks like Brett Sawyer found some allies. Joining me right now is Bob Backlund. Bob, it's you and the Iron Sheik in a No Disqualification match at the Battle of the Belts. Bob: The Sheik and I have had some rivalry. I'm not one who likes to break the rules, I prefer to win with my wrestling skills. Sheik on the other hand has hit me with chairs and has broken every rule in the book against me. Well I can tell you Sheik, you can break every rule you want at the Battle of the Belts but it wont be enough. I'm still the better wrestler and even in a No DQ match I'm still going to beat you with wrestling. Crockett: Ok fans, Bob Backlund. Should be interesting to see how that match turns out. Lets go to the ring for a featured match as David Sammartino takes on Ivan Putski. 'The Great One' David Sammartino vs. 'Polish Power' Ivan Putski David tries to jump Putski from behind but Putski was waiting for it, turns around and punches away on David. Putski spends the first few minutes hammering away on David. Putski body slams David a couple times then stomps away on him. Putski grabs David's hands and squeezes them. David is yelling in agonizing pain. David kicks Putski low to break the grip. David regroups and swings Putski towards the turnbuckles but Putski reverses it. David hits the turnbuckles and Putski charges in, David sticks up his foot and hits Putski. David grabs Putski's legs, then puts his own feet on the turnbuckles. David pushes forward, the ref doesn't see his feet on the turnbuckles and counts 1..2..3! David rolls out quick and jumps up and down with joy as the fans boo. Commercial Break Schiavone: Ok, questionable win for David Sammartino. David runs out David: Did you see that Tony? That was one of the greatest wins ever on Mid Atlantic Television! I just beat a wrestling legend. So, I've beaten Morales, now I've beaten Putski. Sure, they're a couple of washed up guys from my father's era but they have some credibility, so I should be the one wrestling Rick Martel for the NWA title at battle of the belts! I'm serving notice to the NWA, The Great One David Sammartino wants a title shot because everybody just saw it, I earned one! David holds his arm up and heads out as the fans boo. Schiavone: I don't know what to say to that. Fans back to the ring. Jimmy 'Superfly' Snuka vs. Todd Rooney Snuka head butts Rooney then picks him up and body slams him. Snuka goes to the top turnbuckle and flashes the 'I love you' sign. Snuka leaps off the ropes and hits the Superfly Splash for the pin! The fans go crazy. Schiavone: Please welcome the always exciting, Superfly Jimmy Snuka. Snuka: Tony, brotha, its great to be here and in the ring. The Superfly is hungry for action brotha. The fans boo as Ron Fuller walks out. Ron: Hold on a minute friend, this is Ron Fuller's time and you're intruding on it. Schiavone: Ron, your time is next, this is Jimmy's time. Ron: Jimmy? Why are you talking to him anyway? You should be talking to me, after all, I am part of the United States Tag team champions. Now, Rob and Jimmy are in Canada and I want to talk about the Stud Stable and the Crockett Cup so Jimmy you need to go. Snuka: Hold on brotha, this is my time, I think you're the one who needs to go. Ron: First off, did you just refer to me as a brotha? Did you mean brother? Because you my friend are no brother of mine. My brother is Rob Fuller, it sure aint you. We're southern gentlemen and I'm not really sure what to classify you as. You look like a savage. Snuka: Do you have a problem with me? You call me a savage, do you have a problem with me? Because we can settle this in the ring brotha. The fans cheer Ron: Just relax there. Let me tell you something that everybody except you seem to know, which doesn't surprise me. A man of my credentials doesn't wrestle on television. People have to pay to watch me. Now I sure the heck wouldn't wrestle somebody like you on TV. Well, that would be lowering my standards, matter of fact, it would be insulting to a man of my credentials to wrestle a savage like you period. Ron puts his cigar in his mouth. Jimmy slaps the cigar out of his mouth. Schiavone: Hold on gentlemen, just hold on. Fuller is steaming as officials come out and get between them. Commercial Break Crockett: Wow, that could of escalated fast. I'm not sure what Ron Fuller's problem was with Jimmy Snuka. Well as you heard earlier, the Nightmares will put their Crockett Cup tournament spot on the line against the Fabulous Blondes tonight. You also heard the Stud Stable will be in the Crockett Cup. With me now is the 3rd team representing Mid Atlantic in the Crockett Cup Tournament, Norvell Austin and Sweet Brown Sugar, the Soul Patrol. Austin: David Crockett, awwwww man, one million dollars! National Tag team championships, Superdome, Crockett Cup Tournament! The Soul Patrol are coming. Sugar: And the Soul Patrol are winning! This is a grand opportunity of a lifetime and the Soul Patrol are going to take this opportunity and run with it all the way to the top! Crockett: The Soul Patrol are fired up, fans lets go to the ring. American Made (Kirchner/Kernodle) vs. Bill Richards and Clyde Putnam American Made is in sync tonight and the fans are in full support. Kernodle gives Richards a neckbreaker then tags in Kirchner. Kirchner hits the Fallaway Slam for the pin! They head to the podium. Schiavone: Ok fans, American Made Kirchner: Proud to be an American Tony. You don't know how good it is to have Mr. Pride of the USA himself, Don Kernodle back by my side. Smirnoff, I sent your partner packing and you tried your best to send me out as well but didn't work out did it? Don: Hey Smirnoff, doesn't matter what you do because I have my partner's back. We've done this before and we're going to do it again! Kirchner and Kernodle high five and soak in the cheers. Commercial Break Crockett: With me now is the Mid Atlantic Champ, Harley Race. Harley it's you and Wahoo at the Battle of the Belts and he thinks you're making the mistake of underestimating him. Race: I never underestimate an opponent David Crockett and Wahoo is going to find that out first hand at battle of the belts. I've defended this here title against all comers and after I beat Wahoo, its plain and simple, I want Martel! I want what's coming to me and that's an NWA World Title shot. Martel, you might escape Terry Gordy at battle of the belts but I guarantee when we face off, the world title is coming home with me! Crockett: Ok Harley Race is looking ahead to Rick Martel. Speaking of Rick Martel, as we told you earlier, Martel will be defending the NWA world title against National Champ, Terry Gordy at battle of the belts. More big news, on March 11th, Mid Atlantic returns to the Omni for a huge card. Either Rick Martel or Terry Gordy will be there to defend the world title. Also signed is Mil Mascaras who will be facing a man debuting in Mid Atlantic, the Cobra in what should be an outstanding match up. And that's not it, listen to this match signed, Bruiser Brody comes to the Omni and will clash with none other than Mr. Wonderful Paul Orndorff! Fans this will be a must see, Omni, March 11th, be there! When we come back, it's our main event. Commercial Break For the Nightmare's Crockett Cup spot The Nightmares vs. Fabulous Blondes w/Rock Riddle The Ref lets the two teams go at it for a bit. The Nightmares clean house as the fans cheer. The Blondes try to regroup and comeback but the Nightmares stay in control with quick tags while keeping Crews down with arm bars and twists. Crews is beyond frustrated. Timbs tries to run in but Wayne knocks him down. The Nightmares double suplex Crews back and go for the pin but Riddle distracts the Ref. Davis stands up and heads towards Riddle, this allows Timbs to nail Davis from behind with a high knee. Crews then follows with a knee drop and cover. The ref turns around and counts 1..2..Wayne comes in and drops an elbow on Crews. Timbs comes in and starts brawling with Wayne. The ref is tied up with them. Tom Prichard comes to the ring and climbs the ropes but Terry Taylor runs out and pushes him over. In the chaos, Davis rolls up Crews, the Ref jumps down and counts 1..2..3! The Nightmares keep their Crockett Cup spot! Riddle, Prichard and the Blondes are throwing a tantrum in the ring as Terry Taylor lifts the arms of the Nightmares on the outside. Commercial Break Crockett: What a match, the Nightmares showed why they're going to the Crockett Cup. Well fans, we shall see you at battle of the belts in Orlando. Wait a minute. Ric Flair struts out in a suit as the fans boo. Crockett: I cant believe you have the audacity to show your face. I have to tell you, I wouldn't of expected such a cowardly attack from a former world champ. Whether Magnum is injured or not, I wouldn't want to be in your shoes at battle of the belts. The fans boo louder as JJ leads out the Andersons and Tully. Crockett: Oh sure why not. I'm sure you guys are real happy with yourselves. JJ: (smiling) Of course we are David. You're looking at the most dominant group in the entire wrestling world. Magnum TA found that out. Now if you don't mind, the 4 Horsemen want to talk and that's exactly what they're going to do. Arn: (Holds up 4 fingers) These four fingers represent the symbol of excellence. A solid unit. We sent a message at Magnum's expense. You mess with one, you mess with all of us. Now as for battle of the belts, we're going to defend our NWA world tag team titles against the mighty Road Warriors. Don't think for one second we're intimidated by the Road Warriors. We beat the beasts at Starrcade, we tore down Bad Street, the loud music stopped when we pounded the Rock n Roll Express and at battle of the belts, we're going to beat the invincible! Ole: Because that's just what we do. We beat people up David Crockett and we don't give a damn whether you or anybody else likes it or not. Tully: Arn, you mentioned Bad Street. Michael Hayes, don't think I forgot about that sneak attack last week. Sure you got me from behind but at battle of the belts you've got to go toe to toe with somebody who's way out of your league boy. I cant wait to put you down and if Buddy Roberts sticks his nose in our match then JJ will slap him silly. JJ laughs and nods Flair: WHOOOOOO! David Crockett, you're standing amidst the greatest wrestlers in the world today. Whether you deserve to be standing here with greatness is sure debatable. Magnum TA, pal, you messed with the Horsemen and you paid a dear price. You've got more guts than brains to walk that aisle with me at battle of the belts. I just think you're plain stupid! Magnum, I'm taking you to school in Orlando then I'm going to take that US title and then I'm going to win back what's rightfully mine, the NWA world title. After our match Magnum, you're going to know why diamonds are forever and so is Ric Flair. WHOOOOO! JJ and the Horsemen put there hands out and slap there other hands on top and smile at the camera as the show ends. 25. I agree, an intense and angry Savage is bad news for the Heenan family. I have a feeling the SNME will be a wild one. Really liked the Rockers/Fabs match. I'm interested in the Roma/Powers saga. Curt Hennig continues to shine.
