Love the set up. I'm really interested in this. The 4 Horsemen would love to cause some waves in Japan. Also I think Magnum TA could produce some good matches over there. MACW would love to help.

Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling News Ric Flair has shed more light on his big plans. Apparently Ric Flair wants to travel all around the NWA and face the top contenders in all the territories. He basically is doing what a world champion would be doing, only without a title. He's calling it 'Nature Boy Tour 86' He's already heading to Japan for a big show. He's booked to face Mil Mascaras on January 25th in Greensboro and he's already issued a challenge to Antonio Inoki for February 22nd at the Battle of the Belts card in Florida. Some in the back say Flair is obsessed with not only staying in the spotlight but being booked as the main event. While some other people have said the shock of losing the title just hasn't worn off yet. I guess if anything, the fans win on this because Ric Flair will still be traveling to a lot of different venues all across the NWA. No word yet on when Flair will face Martel in a rematch. Somebody else who wants a shot at the world title is Harley Race. Race feels Martel owes him a title match because Martel beat him for the WCCW title then unified it at Starrcade. So Race feels he's technically owed a rematch. Race solidified this by winning the Mid Atlantic title at Starrcade. Look for the longest reigning British Heavyweight Champion in history, Tony St. Clair to be arriving soon in MACW. Tony has stated that he's very excited to be coming to the United States and facing some of the best competition in the world. The Crockett's had been working on this deal for almost a year and were ecstatic when the deal was finally done. The Crockett's intend on holding a press conference in Greensboro to welcome St. Clair and introduce him to the MACW fans. And finally look for a number of tag teams coming in this month to tune up for the US Tag Team Tournament. Such teams as the Fuller Brothers, the Soul Patrol, the Kiniski's and the Nightmares will be debuting soon. There will be some qualifying matches on television, then 8 teams will compete in the tournament at various MACW venues.

What a way to end the show. Dr. Death goes bad! I agree with the others on the Texas Tornados, they could really be developed into a championship team. Love free agent Dick Slater. Enjoyed the draw between Landell and Smothers. I think that program could be a nice gem in the mid card scene. Always fun to read your territory. Who will be the King of the Mountain???

Mid Atlantic Championship Wrestling TV @ WTBS Studio Aired 12-28-85 The show starts off with a highlight montage of Starrcade 85 from both Quebec and Greensboro. The last image is Rick Martel holding up the NWA world title. Schiavone: Hello everybody and welcome to our last televised show of 1985. Well David, Starrcade is in the books and as everybody just saw, history was made. We should tell you that Magnum TA and Tully Blanchard are still out recuperating from their wounds. What a bloodbath that was. Crockett: Boy, you're not kidding, those two went through a war inside that cage. Magnum got his hand raised but I know he's still felling the affects. We're hoping both men get back soon. Well, We have a new NWA world heavyweight champion as Rick Martel defeated Ric Flair in Quebec, in what turned out to be nothing short of a classic. Ric Flair storms out to the podium. Flair: Rick Martel! By sheer miracle you somehow walked out of Starrcade, NWA world champ. Now you get to parade around the world with my title. This is far from over Martel. If you or anybody else thinks Ric Flair is going to just wither away well think again! I am the greatest wrestler walking the face of this planet and I'm going to prove just that. I'm here to say that the Ric Flair is going to take on every top name in the NWA. I don't care if its a Von Erich, I don't care if it's Carlos Colon, I don't care if its Bruiser Brody, Magnum TA, a Rougeau, whoooo! Doesn't matter who it is or where its at. When Ric Flair comes to your town, you better buy a ticket. On January 25th, in Greensboro, the great and legendary Mil Mascaras is gonna find out just what I'm talking about. Get ready NWA because the Nature Boy NWA tour is coming and Ric Flair is taking names. Martel, enjoy your reign because pal, it wont last long. WHOOOOOO! Flair leaves as Schiavone and Crockett are taken aback a moment. Schiavone: Ok, well it looks like the former champ is looking to get back on track. Well fans a few other title changes took place at Starrcade and we'll be hearing from the new champions throughout the program. Right now, lets go to the ring. Pedro Morales vs. Dave D'Arco Morales is pumped up tonight and shows he still has a lot of pep in his step. He swings D'Arco to the ropes and nails him with a punch to the gut then follows with a Caribbean Lift . Morales picks up D'Arco and hits the backbreaker then finishes him off with the Boston Crab. The fans cheer as Morales jumps up and down with clenched fists. Commercial Break Crockett: Fans at Starrcade, the Andersons won the NWA tag team titles from the Creatchman Family. Please welcome out the new NWA Tag Team champions, the Minnesota Wrecking Crew along with JJ Dillon. Arn: Well well well, we hate to toot our own horns but toot toot. We told everybody what we were going to do at Starrcade and we did just exactly that. These titles prove what we already knew and that we are the best tag team in the NWA. It's only a matter of time before Ric Flair gets his world title back and its only a matter of time before Tully is wearing gold. Then the 4 Horsemen will be complete and riding high again. Ole: We went into Starrcade and we took these titles away from those animals. They had no business holding these prestigious titles. I mean, look what that beast did to a civil human being. JJ Dillon comes forward with a neck brace and grimaces in pain. Ole: Don't worry JJ, the titles are in good hands now and you wont have to worry about those savages anymore. Take a good look at what champions look like. I'm daring any team in the NWA to try and take these from us. JJ and the Andersons walk off as Arn holds up 4 fingers while JJ adjusts his neck brace and grimaces again. Crockett: Well speaking of tag teams, the US tag team tournament will begin later this month as tournament matches will be held in different arenas across the MId Atlantic area. A number of teams will be arriving this month to gear up for the tournament. Lets go to the ring as I'm sure these two men want to qualify for that tournament. Devil's Duo (Jeff Sword, Doug Vines) vs. Gale Hutchinson and Norm Ramsey Sword and Vines come out with black vests, black chaps, long hair and beards. The bell rings and they work over their opponents with punches and kicks then throw them out of the ring. The Duo controls the entire match by use a variety of double team maneuvers. Sword body slams Hutchinson then tags in Vines. Sword picks up Hutchinson and holds his arms behind his back as Vines jumps off the top rope and crashes down with a double axe handle to the head. Vines tags in Sword. Sword climbs up to the top rope as Vines lays Hutchinson's body across his knee. Sword comes down with a boot to the face that catapults Hutchinson over. Sword covers for the easy pin. Pre Recorded Comments Ron Fuller: You people out there are looking at the future US tag team champions and I'm talking about myself and my brother Rob. The Fullers are back, the Fullers are united and the Fullers want some of that there gold in MACW. Because my brother and I are used to having gold around our waists. Tell them brother. Rob Fuller: That's exactly right. Now let me assure all of you people something. My brother and I have had our fair share of disagreements and we have been at odds but there is no bond stronger than that of a brother's bond and that's exactly what we're going to show every team in MACW. The Studd Stable is looking to have some fun in 86. Commercial Break Schiavone: Fans, please welcome out the new Mid Atlantic champion, Harley Race. Race comes out with the belt over his shoulder. Schiavone: Well I have to say Mr. Race, you certainly made an impact with your surprise return at Starrcade. One match in Mid Atlantic and you're already a champion. Race: That's right Tony Schiavone. This Mid Atlantic title proves I'm still at the top of my game. While I'm taking on all challengers for this title be sure of one thing, I'm gunning for the world title as well, which means I'm gunning for you Rick Martel. Don't forget our history and I do believe you owe me a title shot. Schiavone: Ok, Harley Race making his intentions known. Fans lets go to the ring. Missing Link w/Paul Jones vs. Rob O'Meara Link just manhandles and overpowers his opponent. Link finishes O'Meara off with the diving head butt and pin. Paul Jones and Missing Link head over to the podium. Crockett: Well Mr. Jones, impressive victory for the Missing Link. Jones: What else would you expect from this man. Just look at him. He's a destructive force, he's a maniac and he isn't afraid of anything. This is just a sample of what my army will bring to Mid Atlantic in 1986. The fans cheer as Tom Brandi comes out. Jones: Ok kid, look, I admire your guts but I think you better get out of here before you get seriously hurt. Link is pacing while grabbing the back of his head. Brandi: I'm not going anywhere. Your maniac here attacks me last week. Then I eliminate him from the Starrcade battle royal and what does he do? He attacks me again. Tom Brandi isn't a punching bag. He wants me? Fine by me. Next week, here on live TV, me and him, one on one, face to face. Let's see how well he does then. Brandi walks off to cheers. Crockett: Well Mr. Jones? Jones: It's his funeral. A Video package hyping Jimmy 'Superfly' Snuka Commercial Break Schiavone: Fans, if you haven't heard, the NWA crowned a new Light Heavyweight champion as Chris Benoit won the title in a tournament. Congratulations to Chris Benoit on his well deserved victory. Right now we're going to have a very special match between two top light heavyweights in the NWA. I'm sure both of these guys would like a shot at that title. Mike Graham vs. Roy Lee Welch Pretty good match here as both of these men go toe to toe and show off some solid wrestling. Graham controls a good amount of time with some good scientific wrestling. Welch comes back with a flurry. They exchange a series of forearm shots as the bell rings. The match is declared a 10 minute draw. Crockett: Wow that was a good match up. Ten minutes just isn't enough time for those two. I know I'd like to see a rematch. Ok fans, please welcome out the new Television champion, Terry Taylor. Taylor: Thank you very much David. Crockett: You had a great match with Sam Houston at Starrcade. Sam was a fighting champion and I believe you have something to say about that. Taylor: You know David, this is going to sound crazy but Sam Houston helped clear my head. I have been arrogant in my ways for awhile. I came here with nothing but an arrogant attitude. I take on Sam and he gives me everything he has. That was one tough customer. Then when its all said and done and after all I said and did to him, he hands me this great title and offers me his hand. I have to say, that moment of class and sportsmanship really got to me. It reminded me of why I'm in this business. I'm in this business to be the best and take on the best. Being a wrestler and champion is about ability and not short cuts. I used to know that. Sam Houston reminded me of that. So from here on out, Terry Taylor is going at it with talent and ability. I'm going to be a fighting champion and I want to represent Mid Atlantic well. Crockett: Well, there you have it. Apparently Terry Taylor has changed his ways and I'm happy to hear that. Fans when we come back, returning to the Mid Atlantic, the one and only Rocky Johnson. Commercial Break Rocky Johnson vs. Calvin Parks Rocky has the fans standing up as he takes down Parks with his lightning punches. He follows up with a couple body slams then picks up Parks, swings him to the ropes and nails him with a high drop kick for the pin. Rocky waves to the cheering crowd as he heads over to the podium. Schiavone: Let me be the first to welcome you back to Mid Atlantic championship wrestling. How does it feel? Johnson: Tony it couldn't feel better. Man oh man I feel recharged and rejuvenated. Rocky Johnson is here in MACW and brother I'm here to make an impact! Johnson holds his fist up to the cheering crowd. Schiavone: (smiling) Ok fans there you have it, straight from Rocky Johnson. Crockett: Boy, its great to have Rocky Johnson here. Well fans that does it for this week. Join us next week as we kick off 1986. In action will be a true wrestling great, Bob Backlund. Also in action the MACW debut of David Sammartino. A couple of teams that will be vying for the US tag titles, Mark Youngblood and Cpl. Kirchner. Also the team of Norvell Austin and Sweet Brown Sugar, the Soul Patrol. Missing Link takes on Tom Brandi and Terry Taylor defends his TV title against Iron Mike Sharpe. See you next week and have a happy new year.

What a great way to end 85! That MSG card was incredible. WOW! Stan Hansen! What a shocker. Back in the 80s I always wanted to see a Hogan/Hansen program for the WWF title. Looks like I might finally get my wish. Can't wait to see how this turns out.

Good deal. Yea it wouldn't feel right using the Assassin name without Hamilton involved.

Another great show. I loved the angle with Kerry using 10 grand of his Starrcade winnings to pay Studd's fine. That was genius. Of course the Garvin promo was hilarious. Things are heating up in Texas with Steel Cage Showdown coming up. -
Cool, thanks for the info guys. I was actually planning on bringing in the 'New' Assassins with Hamilton managing them.

Sweet, MACW would like to book Antonio Inoki on Feb. 22.

Mid-Atlantic Championship Wrestling News Well, Starrcade is in the books and word is that Jim Crockett was more than pleased with the event. Outside of a few technical glitches in Greensboro, the show was viewed as a huge success. Crockett also stated how impressed he was with the Quebec portion of the event. He praised the NWA World Heavyweight title match and said it was an all time classic. With all the backstage changes, the Crockett's were extremely grateful to the other territories in the NWA for helping make Starrcade a success. They say that the NWA will stand tall in 1986 as all the territories involved are on really good terms. As for MACW, the biggest news will be the announcement of the U.S. tag team tournament. Jim Crockett is happy the Andersons are representing the NWA as world champs. He also knows they will be traveling all around the NWA, defending their titles. That's why he's thrilled about the U.S. tag tournament. This will give the MACW territory their own tag champs to defend the titles on the loops. A lot of teams want the US straps and are coming in to compete in the tournament. MACW wants to really build up their tag team division. The Crockett's have always been huge fans of tag team wrestling and they've been working hard at signing a lot of established teams. MACW will also be putting focus on some young teams as well. Rumor has it, that their ultimate goal is to bring in all the top teams in the entire NWA for a Crockett Cup Tag Team Tournament sometime in the Spring. Somebody who isn't very happy is Ric Flair. Flair claims that politics caused him to lose the world title in Quebec. Rumor has it, he has something big planned to show the NWA that he is still the best wrestler in the world. One final note, MACW has signed one of the biggest wrestling stars in the world, Jimmy 'Superfly' Snuka. The Crockett's are very confident that Snuka will be a huge draw for them and have some big plans set for him.

Hey everybody, does anybody have Jody Hamilton on their roster? I didn't see his name anywhere.
-
Sounds really cool. Looking forward to JWA in 86.
-
Great way to finish 85! Who is the masked man?!?! Awesome Orndorff/Bock match, the fans got their money's worth on that one. The AWA looks more than ready for 86.
-
Great follow up from Starrcade. Man, who were those men that attacked Borne???? Martel and the Rougeaus look ready for 86. King Tonga is a madman. Looks like the Creatchman family have rebounded well. Lots of good stuff going down in Lutte.

MACW releases George Steele, Tiger Chung Lee and Pete Doherty and would like to pick up Brett Wayne Sawyer, Johnny Rich and Rock Riddle (manager)
-
WOW! The UWF has kicked off 86 with a bang. Lawler and Rich together, Baby Doll debuts with Luger and a very sinister promo by Ron Wright. Great show and I'm really interested in the Gauntlet Match.
-
MACW would like to book Mil Mascaras for January 25th in Greensboro.
-
This card had everything and more. So many great brawls. Wow didn't see that turn by Rambo coming. LOL, Chicky manages to escape. Liked the taped fist match and Madril had to earn that one. Santana looks to be a star on the rise.
-
Same to you Gene! I feel the same way. Everybody has been so helpful and I'm so glad to be a part of this. Happy Holidays everybody and looking forward to working with all of you in the new year!

Always something good going on in WCCW. Freebirds/Hot Stuff Inc turned out to be just as wild as I thought it would be. Kokina will be a force in WCCW. Goodbye Sir David. Fun angle with Bad News and Parsons. Funks as champs in Texas will be a lot of fun. Love the ending to the championship bout as we could be heading into a Hart/Pringle feud. You really have a way with blowing things off and setting up new angles on the same show. I can learn a lot from you. -
Excellent set up show. Chicky Starr really steals the show, man that guy can generate heat. I'm hoping for an epic Starr/Colon feud. I cracked up when Hugo says Santana wont get anywhere with that nonsense attitude, LOL. Rambo is looking impressive. Really looking forward to your big show.
-
Wow that was one exciting SNME! Every match told a great story. Savage and Gino battling for the IC title will be epic. Looking forward to the Windham/Rude No DQ blow off. Also looking forward to Big Bossman getting into the ring full time. Very intrigued by the Dibiase/Hogan story. Bundy or Dibiase could headline against Hogan at WrestleMania. I think Hogan needs some serious help as Dibiase has a lot of men on his payroll.
-
Man that card in Chicago was awesome! I bet that drew well.

Very sad. That's the worst part of Fantasy booking, is knowing the sad things that are coming. It's almost heartbreaking for me to write for Magnum TA as I know his career will tragically end this year.
