Its because his trunks are tight enough that you can tell what religion he practices

Kip Sabian is unwatchable. They could not have come up with a worse way to debut Rusev than throwing him in with these jackoffs

I don't understand any of this. Maybe its just me being old and not understanding how Twitter and social media work, but to me #SpeakingOut is no different than the old DVDR Urban Legends Sleaze Thread. Like the late Anthony Bourdain said twitter is the 21st century equivalent of writing on the bathroom stall- anybody can say anything anonymously and without consequence. If there was an active criminal investigation or criminal charges or a civil lawsuit or an HR complaint of some sort or credible accusations from actual people became public, then yes I would absolutely expect somebody to lose there job for the accused behavior. The #MeToo movement had actual people with actual names, DOBs, and social security numbers coming forward and filing actual complaints against prominent public figures. #SpeakingOut seems to be twitter handles anonymously accusing private citizens (most of these wrestlers accused aren't important enough to be considered public figures) of misconduct often with little to no details or evidence provided. So yeah I don't understand.

Problem with Fale is he's not good enough to go over anybody of worth but he's too big to ever lose clean. Booking Fale in these tournaments require some creativity as keeping Fale a monster heel and a threat to beat top guys while never actually having pinned a top guy is very tricky.

Yeah its intentionally misleading. Imaging can determine if a person suffered a concussion, but it can't prove that a concussion didn't happen. Most concussions don't show up on imaging. That's why baseline test and physical and emotional symptoms are used far more often than imaging to diagnose concussions. Anybody who has been around been around sports especially football would know this.

With reports that Lesnar's WWE contract ran out on August 31st, would it be too crazy to expect him to show up on AEW tonight or at the PPV this weekend?
-
Damn. Saw him live probably a couple dozen times between 01-04. He always went all out no matter how small the crowd. I was thought he should have had more success in wrestling than he did.

I put Jericho in the same category as Cornette- anytime his lips are moving he is working and he doesn't care if he looks horrible as long as it attracts eyeballs and makes money. As for the shakeup at TNT, the guys who brought wrestling back to TV being replaced with the guys who fucked up the distribution for the HBO Max launch and ran HBO Sports into the ground can't be a good thing for AEW, NBA, MLB or any sports with a connection to TNT or TBS.
-
Off the top of my head- Daisuke Sekimoto- In the last two decades, the guy has had over 20 tag title runs across a half dozen promotions and a dozen or so different tag partners, and his matches are consistently good to great. Karl Anderson- Multiple championship runs in NJPW and WWE tagging with Gallows. Championship runs in Japan tagging with Bernard and a long run tagging with Joey Ryan on the Cali indies. Negro Casas- In the last two decades he's had 5 tag title runs with Santo, Mistico and Shocker as well as countless 6 man title runs. He had the whole Mistico feud and the whole Peste Negra vs Los Ingobernales feud. Harry Smith- Was one half of maybe my favorite WWE tag champs in recent memory with Tyson Kidd. Then went to Japan had several title reigns in NOAH and NJPW with Lance Archer and in between has had several interesting tag runs on the indies tagging with a wide variety of people.

LOL love this!!! Especially as I'm always the first person to be like "well kids do make mistakes" when somebody gets in trouble for something they did 20 plus years ago.
-
Except he never he said Cage doesn't need Taz. He said Taz shouldn't be standing in front of Cage during promos and that they need to fix their camera angles and blocking so things like that don't keep happening....

prowrestlingtees has the classic Playboy Buddy Rose "I worked hard for this body" shirt in stock. Unfortunately its only in XXXL and smaller.... Do they not understand the comic appeal of the shirt to begin with?
-
^^^YES!!!! I was envisioning him more as a Bobby Heenan type, with a stable of bigger, more athletic guys around him and then in a multi man tag setting steals the show feeding for the babyface...

As for managers, I've always thought thats where Joey Janela's skills would provide the most use. He's a good talker, he's proven himself a great self promoter, and he can bump and takes some crazy bumps. He's small and and his in ring work is sloppy as fuck so it never made sense to me for him to be a worker.

Agreed. I was just thinking about the Sammy situation. He was 21 when he cracked that rape joke. At the time nobody stood up and said thats not ok. Everybody on the recording laughed along awkwardly as you do when you hear an innappropriate joke. Nobody in charge of the podcast thought to edit out his comments at the time. I think its more an indictment of wrestling's culture that nobody batted an eye at the joke rather than an indictment of Sammy's character for saying it. Truly, I shudder to think what was the most offensive joke I made at that age. I'm just glad my generation didn't record all of our mistakes and put them up on the internet.

Oooookay. I get the picture, yeah that's not good. What I still don't get is how are the screenshots of his wife's nude selfies tied into that at all.
-
Help me understand this... so the allegations are that Cornette and his wife made unwanted advances on underlings in OVW? That is not good. The proof is screen shots from an iphone text exchange between his wife and somebody that while salacious occurred at least a decade after their time in OVW.... I don't see the correlation.

Yes. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was convicted and sentenced to death in a court of law, not on twitter. And I think you are referring to the biker who went viral for going crazy on a bunch of teenagers on the Capital Cresent Trail (which runs right behind my apartment building btw). He turned himself into police and is expected to be plead guilty to a lesser charge in a court of law where he will be sentenced. Its more that twitter and reddit have no track record of carrying out a punishment or exonerating somebody whose name has been smeared.
-
Exactly. Like I said in the other thread, criminal cases are held in a court of law and not on twitter for a reason. In a court of law somebody found guilty can truly be punished for their crime. In a court of law somebody found innocent can regain their reputation in civil court. On twitter there is just rumor and inuendo with no consequences for the guilty and no way for the innocent to clear their name.

I thought I'd give this a shot 2009- 2010- Koji Kanemoto vs Hayato Jr. Fujita NJPW 5/30 2011 - John Cena vs CM Punk WWE 7/17 2012 - Minoru Suzuki vs Hiroshi Tanahashi NJPW 10/8 2013 - LA Park vs Dr. Wagner Jr. TXT 5/11 2014 - AJ Styles vs Minoru Suzuki NJPW 8/1 2015- Low Ki vs Rey Mysterio Jr. JAPW 11/14 2016 - Trauma I vs Canis Lupus IWRG 9/4 2017 - Kazuchika Okada vs Katsuyori Shibata NJPW 4/9 2018- Johnny Gargano vs Tommaso Ciampa NXT 4/7 2019- Cody vs Dustin Rhodes AEW 5/25

Was just reading about this kid who they signed to a developmental deal. I vaguely remember seeing him fight on an Anthony Joshua under card. So he was bronze medalist at middleweight in 2012 and was a rising contender fighting on the under card of some big name fights until an eye injury and subsequent blindness forced an early retirement. He's the sort of legit world class athlete that's absent from AEW yet seem to be growing on trees over at NXT. Should be really interesting to see his development. Any word on who is training him or when he is going to debut?

I've been thinking the past few months, who is the greatest worker of the 2000s so far? As much as we like to gripe about modern wrestling, there have been some fabulous workers so far this century. I would assume Daniel Bryan would be the run away pick. But there's also LA Park, AJ Styles, Jun Akiyama, Rey Mysterio, etc, etc, the list goes on and on. So who's your pick?
-
^ yeah exactly!
