  1. There were a bunch of omissions in the tag teams that I assumed were nominated but weren't, and nominating 20 teams would just be a pain in the ass. The Von Erichs (only Kerry and Kevin were nominated), Kawada and Misawa, half of the Hansen teams from AJPW, a bunch of the AJPW tag teams, Sheik and Abby, pretty much every tag team ever in lucha, every tag team in the Dragon Gate System, The Blonde Bombers,
  2. I didn't vote for Graham or Tenta but I could see a defensee for both. Graham was top heel for a decade everywhere he went. He was a great promo. He drew some serious money every where he went. I'd put him in the top 25 promos. I don't think I've ever seen a good Graham match and he certainly wouldn't do well in the BIGLAV. Tenta was one of the better big men in the late 80s/ early 90s.
  3. @ jetlag and OJ, if I remember you guys alway were hyping Greco back on the old puroresu.tv board right? Anyways 3 guys so far for me- Yoshihisa Yamamoto, Barr and Shiek. Kind of a wide range....
  4. Surpised I wasn't the high vote for Barr. I was off by like 5 spots. I would argue that at the time of his death, he was the best heel in the world and way better than Eddie, like Eddie wasn't even close. So far I've got the Sheik (91) and Barr (58) on my list, and I feel like I could defend either of those selections.
  5. For the most part there are a lot of votes where I can understand if a style or era or company is your thing I could see having somebody who is an above average guy from that style making your the bottom half of your list. I really, really enjoy wild brawls, so guys like Sheik and Brody are toward the bottom of my list. I really enjoy 90s AJPW so half that roster is on my list. Same with RINGS and to an extent ECW. With that said, even if you are the biggest fan ever of Chikara, I don't see how somebody could justify putting Quack as #6. Or if you are the biggest deathmatch fan ever putting a guy like Matsunaga #17. Serious question, are these troll ballots?
  6. only had one- The Sheik. I'm sort of surprised as I had a lot of people on my list that aren't popular around these parts. Anyways, if it was a list of my 100 favorite wrestlers there would probably be about a dozen or so guys that I'd have so far.
  7. I haven't seen him in ages either because I choose not to. What do I not like about him? He's excessively movezy, his matches lack any sort of structure or focus, and he regularly blows spots. Basically everything wrong with indies.
  8. Solid yet not spectacular is the majority of the Evolve roster. Lince Dorado is a train wreck and everything wrong with independent wrestling.
  9. Its a cosmetic industry. Guys have to at least look the part.
  10. Evolve has a few guys I could see making a career in the WWE, but Riddle I could see drawing serious money on top of the WWE.
  11. Who were thee 12 people not nominated who recieved votes?
  12. Jericho did his role perfectly... I argued back 2 months ago that you don't put a new guy in there with Jericho to make sure they get over, you put them in there with Jericho to make sure they don't get over.
  13. They've fucked up with every guy they've brought in who was a big deal somewhere else. This goes back some 25 years. Its like they do it on purpose. Flair would be the lone guy I can remember who was a main event guy for a "competitor" (as if WWF/E has ever had any competition) who wasn't jobbed out. It began in the big expansion in the 80s, they brought in so many top territory guys just to job them out. Then they did the same thing with WCW and ECW. Then after they bought WCW and aquired the rights to ECW, the ones they brought in were brought in just to be jobbed out. There's a shoot where Kevin Nash talks about it. Where he's like they could just be like fuck that guy we don't need him, but instead they are like no, lets bring him in so first we can fuck him before we fuck him.
  14. I know I haven't been around here long... but I'm imagining JVK at a social gathering, and saying to somebody "hey you know that guy over there? he seems gay to me. is he gay?"
  15. So lemme get my 2 cents in. 1- Good to see Ryder get the win. I'm not a fan or anything, but he's been there forever and he's been booked horribly. 2- I typed an excessively long rant about WWE mishandling AJ Styles like 2 months ago. People here thought I was being a total pessimistic asshole. At the risk of being a total asshole, I was kinda right. 3- That was a Bataan death march of a show... What 7 hours including preshow? Christ no wrestling show should ever be that long. 4- Come on, They are never going going to do something of meaning with New Day, face it. Its the WWE, and the New Day is black. There I said it. 5- Lesnar is always fun. Thats the one thing on the show that I think they did well. Lesnar didn't take a fall because in no way could he, but Ambrose went down swinging and comes out better than he went in. 6- Shane McMahon off the top of the cell was crazy, especially with his kids there what the fuck... speaking of McMahons and what the fuck Stephanie's get up.... there is an age limit for crazy stunts and dressing like a street walker out of Mad Max, they are both way past it. 7- the women's match was fun, even if the wrong person won. 8-- The biggest frustration to me was watching Shaq vs Big Show staredown. If they had booked Big Show or Kane consistently well at all in the past 15 years, a match with one of them against Shaq could really draw money. Shaq is still on TV 4 nights a week, and is still in great shape. It just boggles my mind that they never thought that keeping Show, Henry, and Kane strong would be a good idea. 9- YAY Reigns won!!!!!!! All in all not the worst show ever, not good, worth watching for free.
  16. Watched a handful of Riddle matches for the first time yesterday. As much as I enjoy most of the Evolve crew, I don't see most of those guys going to WWE and drawing money. Riddle is different. He has so much personality. He has an awesome character with that whole East coast jock/lax bro thing going. On top of being a legit badass, he just has that it.
  17. The Hall of Fame kind of reminds me of Kurosawa's The Bad Sleep Well......
  18. have Sombra and Ibushi ever wrestled?
  19. That was a really, really good show.

    WrestleMania 32

Because the public reaction doesn't line up with the sold out crowds at those RAW's and PPV's. If Roman was truly hated, people wouldn't come to the show anymore. The RAW and PPV shows will always be more hardcore, especially now wrestling has become a 'nerd' thing. I think the WWE has largely accepted that. As long as people keep on buying overpriced tickets and experiences to those events, they can boo Roman all they want because the money still goes into Vince's pocket. Gotta disagree. WWE only runs cities a few times a year. Its like the circus or some other special event. If it comes to your town and its your thing, you are going regardless of how shitty a show it is or who is on top. I go, although I admit it is harder these days finding people to go with than 15 years ago. This is in large part because it will be months to years before they come back. This is not like the old territory days where its a loop of the same 5 to 10 towns every week or two. Secondly WWE is not selling out. I can only talk about when WWE comes to Washington DC. I have never been to a sold out WWE show ever. Recent years, I was able to call somebody two days before RAW and get tickets. Scaplers were giving the tickets away. Any other sports tickets in town are tough to come by. Also tickets for WWE are downright affordable compared to other sporting events, cheaper than any other professional sport or entertainment act out there. The WWE has to be hurting. Their stage and the Titantron block out about 5,000 seats at the Verizon center, skybox tickets (which are almost ungettable for concerts and hockey) go for 20 bucks.
  21. Correct me if I'm wrong, but after WWE he had 2 or 3 more good Tanaka matches, a couple good matches with Corino, a good run in AJ, and an ok run in NOAH.
  22. I went to a lot of indie shows when I was a kid, usually to see somebody like Danielson, Low Ki, Haas Brothers, etc. Anyways there would always be somebody comically bad on the show. Guys like Mr. Ooh La La, Prince Nana, The Japanese Pool Boy, Corpral Punishment, etc were some of the worst that I saw.
  23. I am loving Lucha Underground. The slow build toward Pentagon Jr vs Mil Muertes is awesome. The 3 debuts this week were all done perfectly.
  24. I think the New Day is hit and miss. Some stuff is really corny just like everything in WWE, but they have had some good TV matches. And occassionally their corniness makes a segment pretty great. I have never like Owens. Every match he does something that defies all logic and reason.

    WrestleMania 32

Legit question- which has a higher attendance and a bigger gate- Wrestlemania or the middleweight title fight in September? Both are at Cowboy Stadium. The build to Wrestlemania has been less than stellar, whereas HBO and GoldenBoy have done great with the build to Canelo vs GGG...And I ask this knowing boxing is at its all time lowest in popularity in America...
