Lutte Internationale/International Wrestling July 1986
SirEdger replied to SirEdger's topic in Promotions
July 25th, 1986 Pacific Coliseum, Vancouver, BC -Tatsutoshi Goto (w/Paul E. Dangerously) destroyed Brian Adias in :53 with the Backdrop Driver. After the match, Paul E. cut a lock of Adias' hair as well, teasing that with his short night of work, Goto could still represent him later tonight in the Hair vs Hair Match! -Armand Rougeau beat Keith Hart in 15:14 with a Missile Dropkick -Baron Von Raschke beat One Man Gang (w/Floyd Creatchman) in 14:26 with the Claw -Gino Brito beat Gilles "The Fish" Poisson in 10:04 with the Figure Four Leglock Hair vs Hair Match: Ken Wayne (representing Floyd Creatchman) beat NWA Canadian International Tag Team Champion Prince Alofa Fatu (representing Paul E. Dangerously) in 13:35 after interference from One Man Gang. After the match, Prince Alofa Fatu was shaved bald as a helpless Paul E. (neutralized by One Man Gang SITTING ON HIM!!!) had to watch Floyd Creatchman proceed to the shaving. Floyd added insult to injury by shaving a bit of Paul E's hair as well!! -"The Suicide Blond" Chris Candido beat Satanico in 12:15 with the Blonde Bombshell -Rick Martel beat Rip Oliver in 7:48 with the Slingshot Splash NWA National Tag Team Championship: The Rock N' Roll Express beat The Rougeau Brothers in a spectacular match at 21:39 to retain with their double dropkick on Raymond. -
Just a heads-up: you mixed the Caribbean Tag Team & Caribbean Heavyweight title matches. Although Bam Bam Bigelow could easily defend the Caribbean Tag Team titles by himself if he could!

Ah yes, the intentional countout is always a great way to draw heat on the champs. And God knows that the Starrs are pretty good at it! :)
-
It feels so weird to see a Barbed Wire match in the AWA. The ultimate ends of the spectrum but it completely fits with the brutality of the Sheepherders.

I think I might've missed something here, who's Azrael?
-
It has finally happened! Kerry Von Erich has finally slayed the Russian Nightmare! What a great moment for the Von Erichs and the World Class faithfuls! Another fantastic Great American Bash event! Both megamatches delivered big time!

2 trades to announce between Lutte & AWA Effective November 1st: Lutte trades King Tonga to AWA for Cactus Jack Effective January 1st: Lutte trades its 1st round draft pick to AWA for Buddy Rose

I liked the intro of Mark Lewin to Mid-Atlantic. Very fitting of how he would've actually debuted. Great main event as well between Paul Orndorff and Blackjack Mulligan. Vintage Mid-Atlantic! :)

That's so odd. How come it appears like this on your iPad but just like all of us on your PC?
-
Yeah, that's not an issue. Yes, it feels strange but we all do stuff so far that is a bit different from what the territory was IRL. I know you're gonna make it work :)

Date added!

In this game though, I think the scenario of multiple promotions trying to expand in various markets in the way you explain it will be diminished because of the NWA affiliations and such. Unless a territory decides to break off on his own at that time and decides to play hardball, then this could come into play. Right now, this would mostly apply to WWF and AWA but I think we still have a long way to go and figure this out as we progress

Nice. Exactly what I was looking to know. Thanks. :)

Over the years, we've seen number of mysterious wrestlers using the mist for various circumstances and we've seen our share of different colors for that mist. I like that still today, when I look at wrestlers like Rosemary or Su Yung, it's still used since it can be a very effective weapon to build the aura of a gimmick but I've always wondered if historically, there have been some references to some colored mist being more destructive than another. I know my question might seem confusing at first glance but this is something that I've always been curious to know if that has been discussed before.

No problem, we're getting the gist of what you're doing so that's what matters. Like I said earlier before, it takes some time to find our groove at first and to be comfortable with the writing style as well. Things are looking good for the Gauntlet for Gold. Keep up the good work!

I'd never thought I'd see Bunkhouse Buck in a WWF program but there you go. Personally, I think he'd be a good fit with Jimmy Hart. Otherwise, great series of shows as Hacksaw Jim Duggan is gearing up to be a major thorn to the side of the Horsemen!

Nice tie-in with the Freebirds incident in Mid-Atlantic on the same day. In the same breath, you gave Dusty & the Road Warriors some good momentum headed into War Games, which was the purpose so very well done. But now my question is this: who the hell will take the North American Tag Team Championships away from Brody & Hansen??? -
No problem with that.
-
I'm definitely looking forward for more matches between Arthur W. Crews and Tommy Rich. Got a kick out of Crews still yelling at the crowd when the match started lol And what a setup for War Games as The Fabulous Freebirds make a special appearance in the main event! The stage is set and I cannot wait!

We said it all the time for the Great American Bash but I look at your card for the Great American Bash and it has the potential to be THE Bash stop of this year. Every single match in there has at least a sleeper potential to it. If I were Mr. Olympia though, I'd still be careful with Andre, knowing who he chose to align with recently in Lutte. This might actually play in Gary Hart's favor more than he could think! :) -
Another solid show in the books. The Starrs better not get too cocky because Los Super Medicos have some serious momentum right now.

Is it safe to say that hadn't he been in the shadow of El Santo, he could've been as big as him?
