I'm glad I'm not the only one for whom it completely jumped off the page. Looks like they're slowly getting there. And based on last night's reactions, they might pull the trigger sooner rather than later.
So, my ears didn't deceive me then. I really did hear Excalibur burying Cage on TV
I guess that Melissa Santos' Twitter rant didn't help his situation either.
I don't know how true this is is but I saw someone from the UK bragging that he emailed Meltzer about this, claiming to be in Raleigh. So, if that's the case, no wonder Meltzer looked like an ass reporting this.
I guess for me, the question becomes how long can you afford to wait to put the title on Hangman if you're AEW before he cools off. I know that Hangman still is adored by the AEW faithful but you can't prolong that too much longer. Could it be a good compromise to have Danielson go after the TNT title instead?
Pete Dunne has apparently re-signed a 3-year deal with WWE so now, I could argue that Dunne could be the favorite to become the new NXT Champion tonight, over LA Knight (who was my original pick).
The last (and only time limit draw that I can remember) one they did was Cody vs Darby and that was pre-Dynamite (I believe it was at the first Fyter Fest)
BTW, Tony Khan mentioned that Full Gear isn't happening in St. Louis because they moved the date back not to compete head-to-head for the UFC PPV that weekend. St. Louis I think is still getting Rampage on the same date but they might have Full Gear in Minneapolis instead.
Probably not related to what we're discussing but with everything that has happened in recent months backstage, can't be a stress-free environment for Triple H.
Technically, Jericho lost 3 times to MJF prior to All Out:
-Full Gear in the match that allowed MJF to join Inner Circle
-Blood and Guts when Sammy Guevara quit on the Inner Circle's behalf to avoid MJF tossing Jericho down the cage
-The Fifth Labour of Jericho
I know that the Blood and Guts one sounds weird but Jericho made it a point in his promos to mention that was one of his losses to MJF so that's why I included it.
The vibe I got from the ending of the show was that they might still go Omega vs Hangman - possibly keeping Omega vs Danielson for Omega's first program post-title loss - and they could be setting up a 6-men or an 8-men tag with The Elite (combo of Cole/Bucks at the very least vs Danielson/Jurassic Express)
