Comments that don't warrant a thread - Part 4
Sweet Brown Koko replied to TravJ1979's topic in Pro Wrestling
I need MORE of the selfish Hulk Hogan stuff. This is just insane to think about. I had forgotten about a lot of it. We need a Hogan WCW thread like the EPIC WCW Highway to Hell thread. Thanks for making my week! LOL! -

I’ve been out of the loop but what happened to Samoa Joe? Is he not wrestling anymore? What happened? -
Hey! You can’t put down The Birdman!!

How many guys do they have on their roster right now? Do they even have ROOM for a mystery wrestler?

Loved Butch Reed. Awesome worker. Doom was such a criminally underrated team and he was great. This is really sad.

LOL! I also got to see Flair vs. Steamboat live as well. Best live match that I ever saw. -

The Cancellation of Jim Cornette
Sweet Brown Koko replied to fakeplastictrees's topic in Pro Wrestling
Count me in as well! Awesome recap. BTW, I got to see Midnights vs Windham/Garvin live and that heat was INSANE! The crowd was so rabid that when Cornette cheated one too many times the audience lost it and they had to go home early. The babyfaces won by countout but The Midnights had to legit fight their way back to the dressing room. The match was in an auditorium with a stage so as the heels were fleeing to get on the stage and back to the dressing rooms Garvin grabbed the back of Eaton’s tights and pulled them down to moon the audience and send them home happy. INSANE HEAT!!! -
I don’t see the issue with what Ross said or him saying it on the podcast. On the TV broadcast...maybe....depending on how it’s said. I think it’s BEYOND dumb having those spots and all the choreographed nonsense. The toss to the corner, leapfrog, kick, catch foot, spin, miss clothesline, go into whatever else you do is tired. The wrestlers today are super athletic and I get that styles evolve but I also think the wrestlers could do more listening as well and quit trying to have Misawa/Kawada or Liger/Sasuke EVERY time they go out there. One or two of those spots per match would be more effective. Bottom line: I get the Ross criticism from the wrestlers on some level but it should be a two way street.

I got to see The Road Warriors many times live in the 80s and they were the real deal. They had an aura and everything they did look devastating. It’s funny because they could run out to their music, maul their opponents for MAYBE a minute tops, and you wouldn’t feel like you got cheated. Them hitting the ring was like waiting on a hurricane to hit and then looking at the wreckage afterwards. Living until 60 is nothing outside of wrestling but it might as well be living to 100 in wrestling. I always loved Animal’s steadiness within the team. He was the anchor. He’ll be missed.

Thanks for the heads up on the Andre book. I just got it! I was waiting for it to drop and missed it the last time it was mentioned on the site. -

Has anyone read the following: ASSASSIN: The Man Behind the Mask I saw it on Kindle and was wondering your opinions, although you can’t really go wrong with The Assassin. -
I just listened to a brief podcast with Bix and Kris saying that he passed away. This really sucks. I absolutely loved his podcast and all the info that I learned about Memphis. He was so passionate and had an infectious laugh. He will be missed.

Not sure if you knew this was out there but AEW has a podcast hosted by Tony Schiavone and Aubrey Edwards with various AEW talent. Episodes are between 45-55 minutes. I enjoyed what I heard so far. Dustin Rhodes has a good one and so did JR. They actually seem more loose on this show but stay on topic.

Is the empire crumbling before our eyes?
Sweet Brown Koko replied to flyonthewall2983's topic in WWE
So my question in all this is where is the line for the posters here regarding WWE? I don’t watch them anymore and haven’t for quite some time due to things they do that I don’t agree with. I’m just curious how we can be critical of the wrestlers for sticking by Vince no matter what but then nothing he does seems to pull anyone away here? It seems like posters here are ALWAYS close but never quite take the step to be done with WWE for good. What keeps you coming back?? I’m just curious. -

Bray Wyatt = “Horror” Vince Russo Good grief, this was awful! The ONLY thing that I can give WWE credit for is going all in on this but I thought that this was garbage. I think the same thing could have been done to John Cena psychologically without traveling to another dimension. Get in his head and push him to the brink. The only interesting thing I liked about this is that it COULD be interesting to see certain wrestlers go back to certain points in their careers and make different choices. That could be a show for The Network. I just don’t like it in the regular programming. Someone really needs to filter this stuff....just my opinion....

Agreed about Highway to Hell! There was also a thread about Hulk Hogan being the worst babyface due to his heelish tactics that I love. I agree with all the sentiments posted. I check this site multiple times a day and appreciate all of the discussions had here. The discussions can be challenging and open your mind to new perspectives. I appreciate Lucha WAY more because of this site. Prior to coming here lucha was just guys in a mask flipping around. I’ve learned a lot about the nuances of this style and still have a long way to go. Another MAJOR thing that helped me here were/are the podcasts!! Those really hooked me to this place. My all time favorite was the Royal Rumble Reaction Show when Roman Reigns won and got The Rock booed. It was Johnny Sorrow vs. The World! I wish I could listen to that one again. Bruno vs. Larry was also a must listen podcast. Same with the JCP breakdown series (Drawing a blank - JVK was on it and it had “The Billy Graham Award”.) Thanks for everything that’s done here. I certainly appreciate it. Stay safe!

Do you think Vince will still yell in the headset at the announcers? -

They should have postponed the event. Sometimes (most times) Vince is too stubborn for his own good. -
Where does Naito fit in all this? Would he be Taue?
