  1. JR might be the worst commentator on TV. Can MJF work? His promos and overall vibe are really good
  2. Not sure if there is a "what are you watching" thread but I started Georgia championship wrestling from mid 1980 recently and my god what a show this is. Theres a lot to be said for old ramshackle wrestling, the lack of production leads to a much more freewheeling approach from the roster and to be honest I watch modern day stuff--even AEW, shocker--and they just don't have the charisma or charm. Maybe wrestlers were just better when they looked like rough drunks Great show. Probably the best one there is. Piper in a sports jacket https://youtu.be/GPNgk4dEAxQ
  3. It's a legit organisation in theory but there have been a couple of fights that seem a bit off- Sarabia v Melara was a bit strange recently, the tap didn't make much sense unless he was heavily gassed. Realistically this is a rubber fight for Tito given how long its been since Del Río fought (and he was never good in the first place), but hard to see where they go from there. Does Ortiz have a one fight contract or is it more than that?

    AEW Full Gear

Despite thinking the TV has been pretty inconsistent, I actually think this has a lot of potential. As mentioned up thread, it might end up going a bit too flip-flop but if they show a bit of restraint & card I'd structured well it could be really good
  5. No-one has enough charisma to create a boom. A lot of talk about Cody's promo and Jerichos video but ultimately its only catering to a specific niche and a half-decent funny or die sketch, at best. Maybe at some point it will click- and AEW is okay I guess- but they're not doing enough to really be a unique product Edit- fair play
  6. I would argue that these venues are quite optimistic for a small organisation to fill weekly, despite hype within internet wrestling bubbles.
  7. That is the strangest post I've ever read on here. Wow
  8. Having working in the middle east (admittedly not Saudi) it could be a visa clearance issue. Some transient contractor visas need to be signed off to process exit, as they're classed as "transit" workers and exit can become an additional security risk. If they've not processed everything correctly it could be that. A spontaneous show will probably be better anyway
  9. booking Cain to be Brock's pity return win two weeks into the company is pretty sad. He beat the shit of Lesnar in reality and is a likeable character, natural charisma. What a waste Short term thinking
  10. This is such a good show. Enjoying it more than anything else at the moment. If only more wrestling shows were an hour
  11. Nah Cain has decent charisma, he's adapted well to a lot of situations. He'll do okay.
  12. Not paying huge attention to this but the whole thing would be so much better without JR Never really watched a full joey Janela match before. He has some decent charisma but basic offence like punches and chops is horrific, it is like a child cosplaying. It's hard to accept, can't buy into the idea that his offence could make this amount of impact on omega. Though annoying he does have a real sense of urgency and danger that Janela does not. Should have been a squash. Otherwise not a bad show. It needs more sleaze and dirt though

    Is WWE redeemable?

Needs far less live television. Even the best writing teams would struggle with 7 hours worth of TV to produce, nevermind the shower of shit that write these shows. I think a lot of stuff plays into this too - a lot of the vignettes and angles would be a lot more cohesive if there were multiple takes, most of the interviews could do with 3/4 goes, the in-ring meandering promo could disappear. There is plenty of talent there for them but it's just oversaturated.
  14. Two hours is too long never mind three
  15. Any good matches? Think it is time to sit raw out for a while
  16. While it doesn't suit the narrative really, wwe certainly have the better mma fighter run-in segment by a country mile Wonder if they will bring Cormier in after he fights Miocic again
  17. Cain beat the shit out of Lesnar when they fought in UFC. I do wonder how they'll end up referencing that as doesn't really play into the type of image they've gave Brock over the years.
  18. The cuck angle is pretty awful and has probably given us an unhealthy insight in Heymans taste in porn, but I do think Rusev Lashley could be a decent hoss brawl if they give them enough time.
  19. Obviously didn't watch all three hours of raw but it's really not a bad show now compared to five-six months ago. Commentary is still god awful but the flow of it all is so much better.
  20. I'm not sure there is a single good play by play left in the company No-one has any individual charisma
  21. Jericho retains with Moxley interference surely Tbh Jericho is by far the best character in AEW, they'd be foolish to take the belt off him any time soon. Losing it pissed in a steakhouse only adds to the aura
  22. It was poorly scheduled and that probably speaks to the naivety/inexperience of the crew really Personally I think the main event was far better than the bucks match but I can't buy into them really Not a bad show but was it really better than a tna weekly ppv?

    AEW All Out

Tully was the best thing on the entire show.
  24. The show for DSF in Germany was an edit of a few different shows, right? You used to be able to get DSF action on moody satellite in the UK but it was so long ago I might be confusing myself

    NXT talk

Cyborg jacked to the gills throwing The Miz around would be ratings gold, its a shame. Back to the topic Keith Lee definitely seems like he could have something, if they can let him retain a bit of mystique. I can believe in him beating the shit out of people
