  1. JR is awful
  2. Lashley! This is the first raw I've watched in months
  3. aye- they don't need a Thunder but World Wide would work a charm.
  4. I wonder who the worst possible winner could be. Dominic mysterio?
  5. It's a shame they can't take these trivial internet beefs and just have it out Washed up wrestler mma. It would still be better than 3/4 of raw
  6. Max was proving his point emphatically after Kattar ran his mouth for three weeks and is on the comeback trail trying to get his belt A great showing from the lad
  7. Unreal performance by Holloway at the weekend. When was the last time a face was booked to look that good anywhere
  8. Akiyama is a great shout
  9. In terms of impact in a competitive environment it has to be Kurt Angle, very little like him in that regard. Probably a case of right place & right time but had everything there seemingly straight away. Hard to judge in relative terms but if you look at this Regal match from 86 and consider he's 18 at the time? That's pretty crazy to me. I know it's hard to look bad against/alongside Marty but two years in the ring and working like this? Pretty special I think. Probably more ability than "impact" though
  10. Why is rapping a gimmick in 2020 Some amazing promos in this promotion. Kingston is so good
  11. I don't think this will necessarily be any good but I will end up watching it anyway https://youtu.be/-sgxAH47TsA
  12. Fucking hell is there footage of this?
  13. Orton v Mcintyre had at least 300 ddts. Mcyintre's adlibs are not great.
  14. Considering the eccentric clientele behind NXT these days I am surprised the product isn't better really. It should feel a lot more unhinged.
  15. Why couldn't they just apply to SAG? That's what I don't get
  16. Bugsy Mcgraw! Great reference
  17. Miracle Violence Connection do certainly have a lot of dreary matches in their catalogue (there is one against Hansen & Spivey that may be the biggest disappointment ever) but there is a match from 1990 against Misawa & Kawada that is just fucking brutal and does redeem them as a concept. Probably the best tag team name ever though, regardless. Glad Keith Lee beat the shit out of Orton. Hope they don't stick him against Drew straight away, would be much better to have him just annihilate the mid card first I think, build him up as a concept. Him & E are probably the only two people I have any investment in these days, so they'll probably fuck them both up. * Edit, 1991, I know they had a few but this is the one I meant-
  18. Sorry I've checked out of this show (all of it tbh) recently - can someone explain how this match works? Basically you can pin anyone and whoever gets the most pins wins?
  19. Amazing thread, got to thank you immensely for this twitter find. Quite the account. What an interesting spot this is.
  20. Yes- wrestling was much better when it was the idea of hard drinking weirdos fighting for money than corporate schills fighting for... I don't know exactly. I like Keith Lee though he seems like a good laugh
  21. When was he last on Raw? I know NY Post isn't the most reliable but this is well believable from modern day Ric
  22. Even a weekly womens show. An hour. I think it would do better ratings than anything else they have
  23. It was too much tv even with a crowd. Empty arena 3 hours with a mismanaged pandemic lurking in the background feels borderline exploitative I am surprised they haven't just started doing career retrospectives full of old matches instead. The audience is old, tv crew is threadbare. It seems pointless at this point - Florida is going to kill them all if they're not careful The Ric Flair classic. Best of Austin/Rock etcetera Oh well fuck em
  24. I always thought peak Flair presentation was leading upto the Rumble and ultimately if that had been the approach in JCP/NWA/WCW I think it would have been a lot more successful as a draw. Despite his strengths as a promo - arguably the best ever - tying him to heenan and hennig gave it a sports-like basis that gave it the extra edge. Like, I love Flair but think he was so much better with Ole or Heenan beside him. He is still the best ever tho, these are minor points.
  25. Thought New Day v Nakamura/Cesaro was pretty cool. I still think they could take a run with Cesaro even after all this time.
