  1. You're gonna be eating those words when they introduce Christian any minute
  2. Didn't realize he's only 30, but I'd like a singles run for him, even if I still dig seeing Death Triangle.
  3. Would have liked to see one of the younger teams take that, given it's, what? Just a title shot on Dynamite? Bear Country looked good and beefy. Dynamite needs some fresh blood in the rag ranks.
  4. "I apologize for my voice. I'll make it through.' - JR Noooooo!! That tag match did nothing for me. A disappointment.
  5. His delivery of that line was so good
  6. How many fans are they letting in?
  7. Don't think I've purchased an AEW ppv since last year's Revolution, but the combo of this being on a Sunday and this death match has me likely to pull the trigger. Unrelated, but something I've been wondering: is there a known reason for why they brand a lot of their Dynamite episodes? Is it mostly so that the show doesn't just blend together?
  8. I was there and oh yeah. That spot took the wind out of the crowd big time. Fortunately, we had...uhh...HHH beating Lesnar and Cena getting shit on by 80,000 fans to really save things.
  9. I don't recall the specific matches, so I'm genuinely curious...what is Edge's signature match? TLC?
  10. Have they mentioned why the next ppv is on a Sunday and not Saturday? Preferable for me, but curious.
  11. I generally like Tony in AEW, but there are several times throughout every episode of Dynamite where he sounds like ADR. It's usually between matches and when he's hyping what's to come, so maybe it really a dub that they're inserting if it's not a live broadcast.. But if not, his cadence just gets really weird.
  12. I know I can just look this up, but in the spirit of conversation (and as an excuse to thank EL-P for the good and easy reads here)...I had it in my head that their WM 14 match was an inferno match (or whatever they call it where they have fire around the ring). Was that at an IYH a month or two later?
  13. Brilliant stuff, TTK. Bischoff on Hart was great, especially the part on his own self-reflection after doing the podcast for a bit. And if you're hurting for requests...Iooking at page two, I'll put in a word for The Death of WCW debate.
  14. Add another voice (me) to the chorus of those thanking Da Thread Killer and appreciative of his ridiculous efforts here. I've had this post open in a tab for much of the last few weeks as I casually caught up. Thanks, TTK, and as many have already said, please don't feel an obligation to do this and if/when it becomes a burden, hopefully you know what to do.
  15. Watched Drew/Goldberg and the men's Rumble. Just one word comes to mind: cold. Product/presentation/everything is just so cold.
  16. Wasn’t Taker knocked out and doesn’t remember that match? Has anyone written about what the original ending would have looked like? Well, maybe it still would have been three F-5s, but a better structure leading to it.
  17. What got me was the back to back of Brodie Jr. being involved in a nice silly little angle (with an over the top heel acting so scummy I could only laugh) with Silver, moments later, in a heap in the ring, presumably sobbing. I, too, am wary of involving the family so much, but I think it's one of those things where there's no right answer or approach. For as weird and carny as the wrestling business can be, I thought things were pretty above board and hopefully helped prove cathartic for those involved.
  18. https://www.instagram.com/p/CJVQkRCA0WT/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link Not sure if that'll come through. If not, Randy Orton's thoughts:
  19. Surprisingly gutted by this. What the hell.
  20. That's a great story
  21. Thank you. This is what I'm continuing to struggle with. No problem with Omega going full heel aligning with Don Callis. But I'm left scratching my head at continued references to this being a screwjob; planning this for years; the worst thing that Schiavone has ever seen in wrestling, etc. I get appearing on a competitor's show is bad, but Omega didn't align himself with Impact.
  22. Even after watching Kenny and Don's interview last night, I continue to be puzzled over how this is a screwjob. No problem with a belt collector angle, but if they aren't affiliated or aligning themselves with Impact (or anyone else), it feels like something is missing in the execution. I can't recall if Callis had been on any previous episode of Dynamite (I feel like he was once?), but I'm still scratching my head over the melodrama surrounding him tossing Omega a microphone and the two of them running out of the arena. I get, in kayfabe, that AEW wouldn't want them to appear on a competitor's show, but why spring out of the arena with the announcers screaming about how this is bullshit? It was no more bs than any other match with interference (crying over the gentleman's agreement, or whatever, that Omega and Moxley had is a bit much). And hasn't Omega been acknowledged on-air as an AEW executive? I'm blanking on how this is part of any master plan. I worry this reads like a teen on twitter/youtube/reddit complaining about kayfabe machinations, but I'm really just trying to get my arms around the story they're attempting to tell.
  23. It’s a very solid case, I’m sold.
  24. Agreed. Heel v. heel was a weird enough vibe, and then they do that injury angle. Generally a very good episode, in large part, I think, from keeping matches at a tolerable length. No FTR ~18 minute opener where they go 50/50 and win with some cheating. A crisp 10 minute opener was just what we needed.
