Jose will get this one. Hijo del Rayo de Jalisco Jr. aka Hombre sin Nombre aka Rayman seemed to be on the fast track to stardom in 2001 putting on great performances basically setting the template for MIstico 3 years later but his Uncle Rayo de Jalisco Jr. had a falling out with his nephew and he was pretty much politically blackballed but he didn't help himself either by not performing at the level he was at and was eventually banished to Guadalajara and now to random indies.

Another difference with Nakamura & Tanahashi is their runs in Mexico as Nakamura definitely adapted better in Mexico while Tanahashi a lot of times rested on his laurels and just went through the motions.

Regarding the New Japan fans that were around 10 years ago....Tanahashi was the total antithesis of what Inoki-ISM was so he was the guy that the New Japan fans got behind because he represented what guys like Muto brought to the table. He can be seen as the hero of the revival of a regular pro wrestling style to the promotion after the shoot style craze. He has stayed on top since then and he is definitely the New Japan version of John Cena or even Shawn Michaels because when it comes to the big matches he delivers high level performances.

Brisco worked heel as NWA champ when needed many times. The promoters only wanted one thing out of the champion and that was to be more often than not a credible heel challenger who the fans would want to pay to see the face try and beat. Face NWA champ vs. heel opponent was not desired unless the NWA champ was in his home territory and even that at times didn't work the best like when Flair turned heel in JCP in 1982 and he was not nearly as effective as he was as a face. When Dusty had his 3 month run as a face NWA champ he mainly worked the territories he could draw in like CWF, GCW, & JCP which left out PNW, Los Angeles, Fritz, Southeastern, and Japan because the NWA champ was not working for New Japan.

Being a TNA fanboy may be worse than being an actual racist

I love Henry and have always dug Show and yes while their RAW match had some flaws by the end I thought it was overall good. I didn't just pretend to write that either.

"The Unpredictable" Johnny Rodz (aka The Jobber Thread)
KrisZ replied to Ricky Jackson's topic in The Microscope
It's too bad that we don't have footage of him as Java Ruuk in Los Angeles & Montreal or much of him as one of the Super Medicos in WWC with Jose Estrada. We got Estrada in that gimmick a good bit but not Rodz -

Tweeted this earlier but I couldn't believe this wasn't already on YouTube....Buddy Rose & Jimmy Snuka on Evening Magazine in 1979.

Nah it was just the first match I saw with his name on it. Sharmell was horrible in that match as well.

Al Tomko's group got banned in British Columbia for the whole month of October 1983 due to a riot at a show so he took his roster to Amman, Jordan where they worked the entire month and supposedly drew huge crowds every night.

A bracket system of workers is exactly what they need and when it comes to title matches you do it very rarely.

Yeah the show was an easy watch even though there was some stuff I didn't care for which was mainly the booking. Dario Cueto is my dude though

Munro/Puma was a classic Dave style match that he would gush over of course. It was a really fun match but I wouldn't go as far as he did
-
You don't have to run all multi man matches do random singles matches with guys that wouldn't normally face each other. It also would take running hotter angles outside of the matches themselves and more post match angles

I tweeted earlier about putting all the TV on the Network would be what I would do personally but thinking about it what you need to do with your TV is to promote the network heavily by not having the same GOD DAMN matches on your TV that you are having on your major shows. Why should someone watch a Cesaro/Ziggler, Sheamus/Miz, etc when they get those matches every week in some form on RAW & Smackdown. Make your special events actually seem special. The old days you used your TV to build the house shows now use it to build the Network

If you want to take the moral high ground on wrestlers that's fine and that's your personal choice but take into consideration all of the great Japanese workers in modern history did terrible things to their dojo boys....things that would get you quite a bit of prison time in some cultures.
