Dave has mostly talked around the abuse allegations against Elgin (mental, not sexual) and allegations he "covered up" a sexual assault from someone at his school and focused on the comments he made about Jeff Cobb. He (and Ryan Satin) also reprinted Elgin's apology to Cobb and never contacted the woman, Moses, involved in the story who leaked the text messages. At the same time, he's hinted that some of the text messages she released were edited. So last night after people on The Board were asking him about it again he posted a tumblr link that contained more text messages basically proving that they had in fact been edited or carefully selected and, whether you believe Elgin is a POS or not, there are certain parts of the story she's telling that don't square up making it very convoluted and difficult to report on ( which seems partly why Bix had problems reporting on it as well https://twitter.com/davidbix/status/951672578032263169 ) The tumblr is also completely one sided in Elgin's defense so it looks like Dave is taking sides and, to some people, basically calling her a liar. Moses also tweeted that she thinks Dave is the one behind the tumblr so it's a big fuckin mess. Yeah, Dave totally should have done what Bix did and hit the same dead end because the woman is not actually interested in having her story investigated, she just wants to throw shit on Elgin via social media.

Is it being dismissive or is that realistically what the company is more concerned with? Why are people taking what sounds like Dave summarizing the view from NJPW office, that if not for the Cobb texts Elgin would not have any heat in Japan over a rape claim against a student from his school, as his personal opinion on what's "actually important"? Also, on blind spots, it was really clear when Dave was on Jericho's podcast last, even after doing that whole recap of the interview Jericho did with Nancy's sister, that it hasn't really sunk it how Benoit was not a great guy at all before That Weekend.

Difficult to see how this makes Elgin look any better unless both her and Vic Venom Bytes' screenshots were all edited.

Here's what he actually said, specifically talking about how Elgin has heat in Japan over the Cobb Texts. "Boy, did he pick the wrong person to be a confidant of. Someone whose mad at you claiming that one of the guys that you book raped her, she's claiming this, and you're using her as a confidant to tell your stuff, like, get your little aggression out. Another one of Elgin's big problems, and there's many, is boy his ability to determine who he should trust was not good at all because she just threw all that stuff out because she was mad at him and there it was and man..."

Yeah not feeling this as a War Games match. Pretty much everything before the nonsensical superplex spot could have happened without the cage. Camerawork is the shits.

LOL at all the rumors about "just wait" and circulating two scripts for the show just for that. Don't agree that another Goldberg flash finish was the best route, but everything about the match negated Strowman's aura. Massive let down for all the great build they had going in. They could have booked Braun to get DQ'd and destroy shit and everyone would've been happy ("tables" chants).

It was a shoot headbutt. What Dave said was he thinks he wasn't shoot busted open because it's such a rarity to get blood from one headbutt. So he was just guessing anyway. And he said from talking to other guys who have done it, "you still gotta headbutt the hell out of the guy" even if it was pre-opened to bleed again.

People on reddit dug up an 8-year old article You talk about no one having proof of JBL's bullying, but we also don't have proof that Mauro "gets on everyone's nerves" either. One of Mauro's former coworkers at The Fight Network wrote about problems with him before. Old stuff that may be exaggerated by someone with an axe to grind, but hey, maybe Mauro was having mood swings that made him a pain in the ass sometimes. Not saying that to justify bullying or anything like that but maybe that's part of what Meltzer meant by not being an angel too, not just that he was acting like a nerd or whatever.

Yeah, it's just false to say Motorhead was a "niche" band in the metal scene. In the metal scene, they're as "niche" as Iron Maiden or Black Sabbath. As far as mainstream attention, definitely more popular in the UK overall but a lot more coverage in US media due to Lemmy's declining health (The New York Times, Playboy, Vice) over the last few years. How many people in the company's target demo still consider Drew Carey a household name? Hunter's speech at the funeral also went over really well among people who aren't fans, and I could see them including Lemmy just to maintain some shine and cool points out of the association, which was the whole point of getting him to do entrance music.
