People's perception of wrestler's sizes.
EricR replied to Memphis Mark's topic in Megathread archive
I like Cody (though really can't care about his indy run. The guy literally has over 1000 matches in WWE, if I'm really dying to see a Cody match, I think the last decade has me covered) and think his team with his brother was really great. I could have watched their tags for years. But 2nd best Rhodes? NOBODY can make a claim that he's in the same conversation as Dustin or Dusty. He's not close to Trevor Rhodes either. I don't think you could even make an argument he's near Dirty Rhodes. He scrapes in as a top 5 Rhodes. -
Unrelated to his actual work, but as a kid I remember seeing a National Enquirer headline in the supermarket checkout, implying he and Mary Tyler Moore had some sort of secret relationship. The headline was something like "Beefcake Floors Moore" and I asked my friend Eric what "floored" meant, and he did that "you don't KNOW??" thing that kids do when they also do not know. Nothing really comes up online about this other than her being at WM6, does anybody else know what the hell I'm talking about?

The 5 minute cruiser tag was awesome. Maybe Nese's best WWE showing, but the timing of everybody was on point.

More Berzerker! Here's him in a fun match against Koko, a Bret match not anywhere near as good as their earlier singles match, and two fun big name tags with he and Papa Shango vs. Undertaker/Ultimate Warrior, and he and Flair vs. Savage/Undertaker. http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2017/03/berzerker-tried-blue-apron-what.html

I'm doing a live blog over at Segunda Caida. The card looks good on paper, though the cruiser tag kind of stunk. http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2017/03/wwe-fastlane-2017-live-blog.html

I'm happy you're reading it! There's...startlingly more to come.

Haha thanks! It was impossible not to notice. Here's his best Bulldog match, a really good match teaming with Shawn Michaels in SWS, Boss Man singles match, The 92 Rumble AND a Battle Royal; this review is jammed pack: http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2017/02/you-wont-believe-what-doctors-dont-want.html And here's a bunch more, including the infamous Undertaker match to set up a house show run, and a WAR trios with Haku, Tenryu, Ultimo Dragon and more! http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2017/02/berzerker-beat-dead-man-using-this-one.html

Holy shit that bump by Show tho.

More cool stuff: a great match against Bret, and underrated Survivor Series tag where he's the clear star, awesome 5 minute war against Barbarian http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2017/02/what-happened-to-berzerker-we-cant-look.html

11 more Berzerker matches, including the Valentine match which started this whole project: http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2017/02/73-shockingly-great-berzerker-matches_21.html

All week over at Segunda Caida I'll be watching and writing about every single Berzerker match I can find. I'm starting with his WWF debut as the Viking. Props to Matt D, who could be found on this very board telling people to go watch Berzerker matches back in 2013. It took me awhile, but I'm doing it. All of them. http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2017/02/73-shockingly-great-berzerker-matches_20.html Please join me and comment along

How many Ric Flair matches do you have at 4+?
EricR replied to JerryvonKramer's topic in Pro Wrestling
I'm glad someone mentioned the match against Sweet Brown Sugar. I thought that was one of the best matches on the Memphis set, and one of my absolute favorite matches with Flair. Unique opponent and a great structure, fast work, just awesome stuff. I had gotten sick of Flair after Mid-South. Those Terry Taylor matches were extremely boring to me and my group of friends. The Von Erich matches won me back a bit. But that Koko match put me back in the Flair camp. -
Henry/Braun was so awesome. And the main event really hooked me by the end. Even Zayn/Rusev was quite good, though I thought Zayn's comeback was a little convenient. This was probably the overall strongest Raw in months.

I'm doing a live blog over at Segunda Caida, and I must be high because I really enjoyed the Hawkins/Mojo opener. Maybe it's gonna be a weird night. http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2017/02/wwe-elimination-chamber-2017-live-blog.html

NO ESCAPE is more of a Dolph Lundgren or JCVD movie. Steven Segal movies have to be able to have "Steven Segal is..." in front of it.

Holy shit that sentence describing the Money Inc. win sounds like it was dictated from an excited child's live report.

I actually really liked Tanahashi/Naito. But Phil thinks I'm an asshole who pretended to like it just to force him to watch it. But I'm not that crafty. http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2017/02/i-liked-tanahashinaito-phildid-not-like.html

Why do people hate thigh-slapping so much?
EricR replied to Microstatistics's topic in Pro Wrestling
I remember hearing Nate Webb talking about how he was trying to get the timing on thigh slaps correct, and later got into a fight outside a bar, and without thinking used a thigh slap when he kicked a guy. The shoot thigh slap. -
Way late to the party, but I'm doing a (not) live blog at Segunda Caida: http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2017/01/wwe-royal-rumble-2017-not-live-blog.html

I, too, felt that there were not enough online opinions about this match. Caught it last night on AXS after getting home drunk as hell from my best friend's wedding. Some things were better than I was expecting, other things were far worse. http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2017/01/i-also-watched-omega-vs-okada.html Didn't mention this in my review, but I really disliked Jim Ross throughout much of the match. He came off really phony, in the same way Jeff Blatnick came off while watching Rulon Gardner's big win. He knew everything that was going to happen, and kept trying to craft these phony moments.
-
I really liked American Alpha vs. Bray/Orton. Bray and Orton seemed like they were super motivated to have a good match.
-
Yeah Mahal looked really soft in his Liga Elite appearance. I guess technically he could have put in the time all of a sudden buuuuut....
-
Ref threw out the match and dudes in suits started coming out from the back. Both knew they were likely suspended so just hammed it up a bit and left. And yeah Black Terry/Wotan is easily MOTY.

I don't know anyone who holds The Godfather in high esteem. I'm struggling to think of even one worthwhile match he had.

I'm starting late but I'm doing a Rochester Roadblock live blog over at Segunda Caida: http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2016/12/wwe-roadblock-not-at-all-live-blog.html
