  1. Low-Ki has body control like nobody else I've ever seen in a ring. John Morrison would also fall into that category.
  2. Nikki/Riott was a blast. Finn Balor should be watching Nikki for insight into how to throw those flying clotheslines. These two matched up really, really well.
  3. I've not seen Nox before, but came away really unimpressed with her. She was probably my least favorite on the first episode. Also didn't care for Beth Phoenix on commentary. I thought she only brought broad video game soundboard clips. Renee Young on the other hand was fantastic. Meiko looked fantastic and I thought Kelly more than hold her own against her, awesome episode closer. Also think Lane could get really good eventually. Our Episode 1 Review
  4. The Revival/B Team tag was super fun. Constant movement and good nearfalls and teases that played off their other matches so far.
  5. I have it on good authority that Swoll threw that fight.
  6. I've liked her whole title run. There were over 20 people appearing on the Summerslam card before her, and she was the first one to actually work like she was in front of a crowd of people. Her trash talking may have been Barry Darsow level of canned ham, but she was doing it and yelling and mugging at the crowd the entire time. She hit a fat dive, made great faces taking shots from Lynch, and got THREE limbs on the ropes during a pinfall. Feels like if The Miz pushed off the ropes with both legs and an arm people would lose their shit.
  7. The way this slow build is going he'll hit 10 stars on a match by All In
  8. Revival looked great, Gulak looked great, people are crazy if they think Carmella was anything but the best part of that 3 way, Hardy/Nakamura was each guy's best singles match in ages, Bryan would still be wayyyy more interesting to me with that mat wrestling style he talked about all retirement and so far hasn't done a damn thing with, and the whole show was fun without being actually great.
  9. I got home late but I'm starting a Summerslam "live" blog at Segunda Caida. I am bummed the Rusev/Almas mixed tag is relegated to opening dark match on a 9 hour show, but we knew what would happen with Almas upon call-up. The act can still be salvaged. http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2018/08/wwe-summerslam-81918-safely-behind-live.html
  10. I second thinking that one-legged tights are an awesome thing for a dickhead doofus heel to wear. I also hated Jarrett's "chest strap" tights with those straps attached to that choker. Awful, awful look. I really dislike the last several years Tamina "shrunken Viscera" gear.
  11. Almost all of the matches on that card felt like we only got the first half of the match, and then the pinfall. They all felt like we got a good A, skipped B and went right to C.
  12. Late to the party, but I'm doing a live blog at SC. Not too jazzed to see Almas already on the pre-show, but I guess having him wrestle is better than not having him on the show at all. Do they not trust him working anybody else but the other Mexican guy? http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2018/07/wwe-extreme-rules-2018-safely-behind.html
  13. My grandpa liked Freddie Blassie, and even called my mother's school principal - who he didn't like - a pencil neck geek.
  14. This doesn't get brought up as often as it should, but I loved Backlund making fun of Funaki when Funaki tries to big time him. Backlund immediately realizes what this 20 year old punk is doing and starts making goofy faces at him as a way of selling, then hilariously sandbags him on a lift or two. Funaki looked frustrated and threw a little tantrum. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-XuSBwdCCz0
  15. I really do genuinely love this match. They get so many things right! They get several things wrong. But the things they get right are truly amazing. Phil refuses to watch it, but said he would if we visit him in Colorado. He's going to pretend he didn't make that promise though. His loss.
  16. Chasyn Rance drives a black Mercedes with a custom license plate that says "CHA5YN". People booking this dude know he's shitty.
  17. I hate when Flair mixes colors and the colors really clash. Lawler understood the color wheel better.

I'm behind but Sullivan/Black was a fun boss battle. Sullivan is a little rigid but I like the way he sells kicks and thought some of his collapses down the stretch were like a gorilla getting put down with a tranq dart. I still don't think I like Nikki Cross that much though.

Lorcan was flat out electrifying tonight and came off like a star. Super fun to watch.

    NXT TakeOver Chicago II

Slightly late to the party but my friends are over and we're watching the show. Super hot tag team opener. Lorcan is the best. I've never not been into one of his matches. http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2018/06/nxt-takeover-chicago-ii-61618.html
  21. Good choice. Also, even though I've seen it like 5 times, the Mama's Family wrestling ep could have been a lot better.

    WWE Hidden Gems

The other big match on the show was Benoit/Dinsmore, so they probably aren't going to rush to get that on the Network. But we did review the match. Kane looked awful: http://segundacaida.blogspot.com/2018/06/new-footage-fridays-boatload-of-brazos.html
  23. Gunner Miller uses a great jackhammer as a finisher. His recent match against Dominic Garrini (available on powerbomb.tv) had a great finish around a jackhammer.
  24. Also, not choosing a Rock/Dave side, but Rampage is the best dumb action movie I've seen in years.
  25. Goldust still does a Buzz Sawyer/Dibiase style powerslam, although he's making TV a lot less these days. I miss seeing someone raking their boot eyelets across someone's face. And fistdrops. Gedo still wrestles a ton and I like his, but I miss fistdrop varieties.
