Apter left all those in 99 I think. He went with WOW magazine in a gamble.
  2. Personal hatred trumps real sports thinking in wrestling...thank god.
  3. Fucking Punk vs Jericho was fucking great. I fucking loved it. Jericho was fucking great, Punk looked fucking fantastic. The crowd was fucking killer, and Jerry Fucking Lawler is my fucking hero for trying to turn the kayfabe breaking chant "This is awesome!" into a kayfabe "This pro Punk crowd thinks its awesome that Punk is kicking out!" or something fucking like that. Fuck fuckity fuck fuck fuck...fuck fuck.
  4. Punk's Blackhawks gear fucking rules.
  5. That Ziggler/ Del Rio double turn match, at least the seeds of a double turn, was good shit. Edit: Just saw the Del Rio promo...he's going heel. It'll be some story work to do the Ziggler face turn.
  6. Sheamus vs Sandow in the app/ YouTube opener isn't a demotion of Sheamus, it's them putting a match people would actually tune in for on the Ap that they're pushing like crazy.
  7. Someone in the crowd is wearing a "I'm A Chris Benoit Guy" shirt. Oh vey.
  8. Axel getting a baby face reaction to his win and him looking like he was gonna cry as he looked to the sky was a nice "real" moment.
  9. That was such a fun match with a feel good moment at the end. And JBL and Cole totally were selling the Shield being unbeaten all match and then went crazy with "THE SHIELD HAS BEEN BEATEN!" on commentary. If someone didn't see it cause they don't watch SD, then maybe now they'll watch SD. I don't give a flying fuck, cause I do watch the show, and it's nice to get "rewarded" for my my faithful viewing.
  10. What's to explain? Marks will pay him for it. Why make it for free? What a lot of podcasts do, and I think this is smart, is make the last say 20 or 50 free but if you want the older ones you purchase a premium version of the show. Not articulating this right but Meltzer could do this and rake it in even more I think. Plus it would give his show much more exposure. That's what Marc Maron does with WTF. And it worked on me, I went premium to get more old shows
  11. What was everything else?
  12. Think about this. They actually had Lillian announce to the crowd that the Shield lost a six man for the first time. Looking back, they never pushed an unbeaten streak . It was always "it's now their yard!" Or " they're the best team ever" , " who can stop them?" They never really pushed the unbeaten streak deal specifically. If Lillian had to remind the crowd, then maybe it wasn't as big a deal as we take it. A little of six of one half dozen of the other
  13. Fantastic interview with Trish Stratus. She's no brainless chick re: wrestling . Her story about the heel turn at Mania 20 is great.
  14. I just listened to Dave on Colts show and it was a lot of fun. He even made fun of Alverez being scared to go to Mexico.
  15. The spoilers say that Lillian got on the mic and announced to the crowd that this was the Shield's first 6 man loss, so I'm guessing it's being treated as a big deal.
  16. You just say "HE'S GOT A GREAT ASS!"
  17. That's the point I'm making. Maybe they're trying to give SmackDown some cool moments on the Go Home show to a PPV. And honestly, isn't it more realistic to have a big event happen every now and then on a show that's not a PPV? The idea that streaks only get broken or titles only change at PPV's is limiting. And while I know a lot of you don't watch SD every week, I do. So yay!
  18. Dude, I was fucking hooked on Santa Barbara. I got the chicken pox when I was 14 and was laid up on the couch for 2 weeks. We didn't have cable or a remote control, so I just left NBC on all day. Santa Barbara had just started a week earlier so I didn't have to learn all the normal soap sub plots and man it hooked me in bad. I watched it for years.
  19. Comics not selling like they used to has less to do with story tropes then the fact that they cost too fucking much.* Whatever problems comics or Soaps are having aren't due to story telling styles that have been successful for decades. * (Speaking as a guy who collected comics from 1975-2006.)
  20. If it gets people to say " Hey, maybe I should start watching SD." Then I don't see what the problem is.
  21. Except that people remain emotionally invested in Days Of Our Lives like crazy. Super Villain coming back from the dead all the time is a classic story telling bit. In the comics Dr. Doom was always coming back from certain death and no one stopped buying Fantastic Four.
  22. RAW was pretty fucking great tonight, and yeah...Vince was hilarious. Jesus fucking Christ that Bryan/ Rollins match was so fucking good. Oh and they aired a cool "MARK HENRY IS BACK" video.,

Damian Sandow playing chess with Deep Blue and screaming at the computer was great.
  24. It depends on my mood and what promotion. I have every Clash on DVD and I love watching them in their entirety. And those Memphis studio shows we got last year need to be watched as whole shows.
  25. I have never heard about these until just now: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_US_da...p_opera_ratings Honestly haven't heard of a single one of those shows. This must be the shit you guys don't export. We've always had healthy doses of stuff like Diagnosis Murder and Murder She Wrote though. Staples of the mid-afternoon schedule. The crazy thing about the daytime soaps is that they never stop. They never show reruns, it's 5 days a week 52 weeks a year.
