Yeah, what exactly is "disgraceful" here? So Lawler can score young tail, good for him. She's legal. I'm 40 and my girlfriend is 21. I feel a lot of things about our relationship but "disgraceful" isn't one of them. I try to emulate The King in every way. I'm thinking about wearing a crown. -
Wait, so almost everything IS the same sport except the two things that ARE the same sport, just with some different rules?

I met Vlad at a ROH show of all places, nice guy. Was Roddy Hogan the guy who dressed up like Hogan at WWF shows, and then showed up in WCW for awhile? Oh, and redhead with a Camera? Was that the chick who was ROH's photographer? Mary something?

Sek69 posted this in the "big thread": And I mentioned Anyone else have any memories of certain fans who you remember fondly? I know the ECW guys will be brought up, and the obvious "fans getting themselves over" complaint that I think is a little silly and paints a wide brush over fans in general. Sure, your indy "aren't we smart" chants are annoying, but stuff like "Where's My Pizza?" at the FBI was funny. As stated above, I always got a kick out of the Horsemen guys and the Cornette guys. I also LOVED "The Black Nature Boy", (not Scoot Andrews), who was at all the Philly Civic Center shows. He was this brother who wore a robe and just wandered around the Civic Center strutting, doing the four fingers, and yelling "Whooooooooooooo!" at all the shows.

I always loved those guys. There were a similar bunch of guys who'd be at the tapings and cards who were Cornette fans. -
Hacksaw is totally deserving of the WWE HOF. He was a major star for Vince and was one of those guys who people remember to this day. Just say, "HOOOOOOOOOOO!" around a group of dudes and at least a few will go, "HACKSAW!". For me, he was one of my favorite wrestlers of all time. I first read about him in the Apter mags and couldn't wait to see him someday. At a Pro Wrestling USA card at the Meadowlands I was at, Duggan was a last minute replacement in a six man match and I remember freaking out. Pretty soon after that, Mid South/ UWF started airing in our market and I was totally into Duggan. He went to WWF and I was excited, but I became a little disappointed because he turned into an 80's WWF cartoon character. But I was just being a typical wrestling nerd. Duggan rules, tough guy.

Miz's finisher has been super protected for the most part. He can get his ass beat forever and hit that and win.

Here's the deal, man. When a person goes over to the Observer site and reads something as fucking stupid as this: it's gonna get made fun of. To be fair, Dave didn't write that article, but it was published on the site. -
Since everyone knows they're married, maybe he doesn't mention it because it doesn't matter. I just rewatched the Jericho DVD and he seemed more disapointed that him and Steph as partners just fizzled because it didn't work from the start. I haven't read it yet, does he go into how much he liked his feud with Steph as he does on the DVD? I mean, why would he be "political" about HHH and Steph being married when he's never really been shy about saying what's on his mind? Shit the first book has a HHH jab and the DVD has some subtle digs at HHH. Oh, he loves to laugh at "insiders" who got upset at his "firing" with the crying and being carried away...pointing out that it was his idea because he was a bad guy, not the "evil office embarrasing him". Does he go into that?

Wasn't the whole thing actually that Gino was in LA, went to a party, got a pic with Farrah and then parlayed it into a part of his gimmick? -

Well, that's proof that the NFL is just like wrestling, right? An aside, but I was upset that the Steelers "did the job" tonight. -

Well you know, he wasn't "Vader", he was "The Man They Call Vader" I'd guess that "some people" are "they".

An aside, but there's another term now shared between wrestling and strippers. "Trying to herd cats" is a term we use at the club when dealing with managing a bunch of dancers on a busy night. Sorry, carry on.

From the latest Classic Observer: "Lawler did a hilarious King's Court that will never air where Johnny Polo pretended to be Stu Hart and Harvey Whippleman pretended to be Helen Hart. Polo then faked having a heart attack and died but Harvey revived him with mouth-to-mouth. " This was when Lawler got indicted and pulled from all WWF programming. TELL ME someone somehow has this. It sounds fucking hilarious.

The USA chants were about the fans trying to "power up" Daniels and Slaughter.

Man, I remember the Steiners vs. Nasty Boys WCW Loser Leaves Town (?) match. It was the Nasty's last WCW match from that run, and the Steiners just KILL the Nasty's stiff.

Oh, totally. I only saw one of them, that I can recall, and they had a spot where Hogan hit race with a big, heavy, cushioned chair at ringside that I believe broke and Race did the woozy dance with it hanging around his neck. At least I think that was the spot. I know for certain Hogan hit Race with a chair like that.

I'm with Tim here. Me and my roommates watched the show, drank beer, ate pizza and Buffalo Wings and cheered, laughed, and booed and were totally engaged by the whole show. We realized Santino had never been eliminated and stood up, leaning at the TV, waiting for THE COBRA...and saying "HOLY SHIT, They just might have Santino win!", getting to pop when he hit the Cobra, and then being all "Awww..."when Santino was eliminated. And me, the "heel loving guy" in the room cheering Del Rio. What a fun night. Oh, and I expected Beth Phoenix to be the partner, and I think the crowd did as well. Kong would have ruled.

My pal Joe and I still do the Barry O "O" pose at times just to make ourselves laugh.

That's so fucking great.

And I think we found the tiny difference here! Those matches with the jobbers weren't "big matches", they were "Big Appearences". Oh and as an aside, who WAS the jobber that Hogan squashed who was sorty dressed like Dusty? And Dusty did the same thing on either TBS or Worldwide, squashing a guy who looked like an emaciated Hogan. I remember this being mentioned in the Apter mags and I THINK the Observer at the time.

Um... that seems like a fairly common and well-understood phrase. Ah, struck me funny anyway. Still, it's a really great obit on a TV Icon that barely got a mention on most of the TV news I saw.
