  1. It's nice to see that people bending over backwards to find things to be triggered by isn't just a recent phenomenon. Really what a stupid, ignorant thing to say. Calling a bad match an abortion is just plain stupid and I would be really pissed if I was reading that bullshit, especially if I was involved in an abortion or anything. Regardless of that, there is no need to use such stupid terminology.
  2. Loved the early armwork by Colon, actually loved all of Colon in this one. However, this is your typical Flair match. Things get worked on and then they just move onto something else and it seems to be forgotten. Either way, Colon brought the goods here and I'm really loving his style. He's Tito! He's the firey comeback babyface who can also sell great. The cartwheels are stellar too. This comeback was freaking epic too. I really adored this finish. ****
  3. Oh man, oh man! Love this shit. Love the Dave style writing. Love the booking. I'm really excited for UWFi going forward.
  4. Normally Zangiev would only be available for select dates, but since UWFi only runs select dates that is ok with me.
  5. FMW Grand Slam, Night 9 September 24, 1995 in Tokyo, Japan Hachioji Civic Hall FMW Grand Slam Brass Knuckles Championship Round Robin Tournament: Mr. Gannosuke [0] vs. Jinsei Shinzaki [4] Gannosuke was a man obsessed and went on full offense, however his agressive style lead to mistakes and Shinzaki gaining the victory with an inside cradle. After the match Gannosuke snapped in the ring. FMW Grand Slam Brass Knuckles Championship Round Robin Tournament: The Gladiator [10] vs. Big Boss Man [4] The Gladiator was very confident, since he is already into the finals of the tournament. Early on Boss Man caught him a Boss Man slam. Gladiator rolled to the outside and walked away getting a count out loss. La Parka vs. Hanzo Nakajima Parks picks up the win in an exciting bout. Combat Toyoda vs. Miwa Sato Combat demolished Sato, sending a message to Kudo that she wants the belt! Hisakatsu Oya, Ricky Fuji, Katsutoshi Niiyama, & Yuji Yasaroaka vs. The Headhunters, Horace Boulder, & Damian 666 This was just a fast paced everybody get stuff in to get people hyped for the end of the tournament. Headhunters pinned Fuji to win the match. FMW Grand Slam Brass Knuckles Championship Round Robin Tournament: Sabu [6] vs. Haybusa [8] If Hayabusa wins he is in the finals versus The Gladiator, if he loses he will not be. Of course Hayabusa came into this with his bum knee from the tournament and Sabu came into this with generally being injured like normal. This was a risk heavy match with both man crashing and burning while attempting high spots. Hayabusa was able to hit the Firebird Splash, but Sabu was too close to the ropes and broke up the pin. Super Leather, Terry Funk's friend, came to ringside. Funk has feuded with Sabu and is still mad about Hayabusa's win over him, so the crowd was unsure of what would happen. The referee was distracted, when Terry Funk came from under the ring and nailed both men with a flaming branding iron knocking them out. The referee counted both men out, for a double knock out and a draw. This means the only way Hayabusa will be in the finals is if Tanaka and Funk battle to a draw. FMW Grand Slam Brass Knuckles Championship Round Robin Tournament: Terry Funk [8] vs. Masato Tanaka [8] Terry Funk was a crazed man trying to get into the finals for this match, using every weapon he could. Tanaka was valiant and never gave up and kept coming back. Both men were bloody. The finish saw Funk put on the Spinning Toe Hold. Tanaka was able to wrap his forearm in barbed-wire and nail Funk with an elbow. As Funk staggered off, Tanaka got up and hitting the Roaring Elbow which was wrapped in barbed-wire for the victory. Final Grand Slam Round Robin Standings: 1. The Gladiator [10] 1. Masato Tanaka [10] 3. Hayabusa [9] 4. Terry Funk [8] 5. Sabu [7] 7. Big Boss Man [6] 7. Jinsei Shinzaki [6] 8. Mr. Gannosuke [0] This sets the stages for the closing show of the tour on September 26th at the Korakeun Hall, shown on tape delay. Also on a future commercial tape, entitled "FMW Grand Slam"! This show will be loaded with the following! The finals of the Grand Slam Tournament with the winner becoming the FMW World Brass Knuckles Heavyweight Champion will see Masato Tanaka battle The Gladiator! Good friends will square off for the FMW Independent Women's & WWA Women's Championship as Megumi Kudo defends against Combat Toyoda. Toyoda will retire in May 1996 and wants to go out as Champion, she gets her shot here! The WWF Women's Champion Monster Ripper will defend her belt against AJW legend Chigusa Nagayo! The FMW World Brass Knuckles Tag Team Champions of Ricky Fuji & Hisakatsu Oya have battled The Headhunters all over this tour. They will square off one more time in a "Barbed Wired Boards Death Match" with the titles on the line! After tonight's show, FMW announced some brand new match ups! Terry Funk will team with Super Leather to take on Hayabusa and the Big Boss Man! Funk and Leather have been a thorn in both of their sides the entire Grand Slam Tournament. Boss Man is not happy with having a cheater and a serial killer in the promotion and will try to carry Hayabusa, who is working on one leg. This should be a war! There is a lot of styles in professional wrestling and in an "All-Styles Match" many of them will be on display as: Daisuke Ikeda (shoot style), La Parka (lucha libre), and Sabu (Sabu style) take on W*ING Kanemaru (Strong Style), Hanzo Nakajima (Lucharesu), & Mitsuharu Matsunaga (Death Style)! Koji Nakagawa did not take too kindly to Mr. Gannosuke throwing a fit after losing in the Grand Slam, since he wasn't even in the tournament. A challenge was issued and accepted! The two premier tag teams in FMW's joshi division will battle as Shark & Crusher battle Takako Inoue & Mayumi Ozaki! Finally, on the pre-show the team of Jinsei Shinzaki & Yuji Yasuraoka will face Horace Boulder & Katsutoshi Niiyama.
  6. This felt like a fun Flair title defense against an unworthy challenger. Loved Gilbert's little comeback with the dropkick and some nice fire. Flair was Flair and wins with the figure four. ** 1/4
  7. Ear work is something you don't get to see enough. Colon just wears Abby out for the first part of the match, a really long shine segment where I keep expecting a cheap shot by Abby to start the heat sequence, but it keeps getting delayed. An actual kick gets Abby the control, not any cheating. That really surprised me. It's PR and Abby, so of course blood. Abby's control segment with low bloods, strikes and lots of evil laughing is great. Colon really has a nice fired up comeback which includes a cartwheel! Second brawl on the outside and Abby takes the control back including a battering ram into the ringpost. Freaking great and now Colon is bleeding. Double juice! Is this the most PR match ever? I love them going toe to toe all wobbly back in the ring. Abby's kicks are great. There is a freaking fight in the crowd too. What the hell? Brawling some more and the referee stopped the match due to blood. A little slow at times, but a damn fine wrestling match. *** 1/2 Post match has more crowd brawling! This is PR baby!
  8. Holy shit, did not see a Hawk mega push coming!
  9. YES WALTMAN! Huge fan of his and this was similar to his X-Pac return in 98 promo that was so great.
  10. My set came today!!
  11. Yeah, that would be a good role too. ROH is kind of becoming a shame to me. Would love to watch more Castle, but don't care AT ALL about ROH so I'm not really seeing him much (except the live shows in Toronto). It's like Cherry Bomb in TNA, where I don't see her except live and other favourites in promotions I don't care about.
  12. He is their hottest act and should be worth a try? If it doesn't work, as you said he's bullet proof and you can get the belt off of him? What's the harm on attempting to put the belt on their biggest star? Ok, even if they don't put the belt on him, they should build the show more around him. This year on PPV: 14th Anniversary: Lost to Goto in a middle card match. Global Wars: won a four way match in a bottom card match to get a tv title shot Best in the World: Lost his TV Title shot against Bobby Fish in an upper card match. DBD: Lost to Okada Field of Honour: Lost to Kushida in a bottom card match. ASE: not on the show (as of yet) That does not look like the record or a great use of someone who could be their top star.
  13. Why would this not work with Dalton Castle?
  14. ROH needs a new booker then! Hogan is another guy who was on top with personal feuds that were also about the belt.
  15. That's the finals of the real life tournament! We'll have to wait and see though.
  16. Loved it, btw. Left comments. Put up tomorrow's FMW show early (well probably about right for a Japan show), due to busyness tomorrow. One night left in the Round Robin section of the tournament!
  17. Stone Cold didn't have a problem having personal feuds with the title, nor did Flair. That seems like ROH has shitty bookers if you can't keep him unique with the title.
  18. FMW Grand Slam, Night 8 September 23, 1995 in Nakamura, Kochi, Japan Nakamura Sports Center FMW Grand Slam Brass Knuckles Championship Round Robin Tournament: Masato Tanaka [8] vs. Jinsei Shinzaki [2] Shinzaki already defeated Hayabusa, so was confident coming into this contest. These two battled with Tanaka almost gaining the win with a Fire Thunder Bomb and a Roaring Elbow, but both times Shinzaki's leg was close enough to the ropes to break the count. Tanaka and Shinzaki battled on the top turnbuckle which ended with Tanaka hitting a superplex, but Shinzaki hooked the leg for the surprise win. Koji Nakagawa & Daisuke Ikeda vs. Damian 666 & W*ING Kanemaru Nakagawa made Damian submit to the Sharpshooter in a match featured a variety of styles of wrestling. La Parka vs. Horace Boulder Unlike previous Parka matches this was more brawling. Parka picks up the win with a moonsault onto a chair. Hisakatsu Oya, Ricky Fuji, Hanzo Nakajima, & Katsutoshi Niiyama vs. The Headhunters, Yuji Yasaroaka, & Mitsuharu Matsunaga A crazy brawl mixed in with some great high flying by Nakajima and Yasaroaka. Matsunaga got the pin with a piledriver on Fuji, after both Headhunters gave him moonsaults. Megumi Kudo, Combat Toyoda, & Chigusa Nagayo vs. Monster Ripper, Shark Tsuchiya, & Crusher Maedomori A fun and action packed match that saw Ripper pin Kudo, after Nagayo accidentally lariated Kudo. FMW Grand Slam Brass Knuckles Championship Round Robin Tournament: Terry Funk [6] vs. Big Boss Man [4] Terry Funk was with Super Leather again, but this time Boss Man brought Hayabusa with him. Hayabusa was limping around, but managed to stop Super Leather from interfering. This lead to Boss Man and Terry Funk having an intense contest in the ring without interference and weapons, as neither wanted to go to ringside and get ambushed. The finish came when Super Leather tried to hand Funk a branding iron, but Hayabusa chased him around the ring. Leather dived into the ring to get out of the way and was hit with a Boss Man Slam. With Boss Man distracted, Funk nailed him with the branding iron and then hit a Piledriver for the win. FMW Grand Slam Brass Knuckles Championship Round Robin Tournament: Sabu [6] vs. The Gladiator [8] These two men killed each other in this match, breaking 11 tables in total with numerous Sabu dives and Awesome Bombs and Splashes. The finish came when Sabu went for a Super Frankensteiner, but Gladiator countered it into a Super Awesome Bomb onto a pile of chairs in the middle of the ring. With this victory, Gladiator has earned himself a spot in the finals. Current Grand Slam Round Robin Standings: 1. The Gladiator [10] 2. Hayabusa [8] 2. Masato Tanaka [8] 2. Terry Funk [8] 5. Sabu [6] 6. Big Boss Man [4] 6. Jinsei Shinzaki [4] 8. Mr. Gannosuke [0] The final four matches of the Grand Slam Tournament, scheduled for 9/24, are: Sabu [6] vs. Haybusa [8] Mr. Gannosuke [0] vs. Jinsei Shinzaki [4] Terry Funk [8] vs. Masato Tanaka [8] The Gladiator [10] vs. Big Boss Man [4] The Gladiator is in the finals and at this point he could be facing Sabu, Hayabusa, Terry Funk, or Masato Tanaka. If there are more than two people tied for the most points, a mini one night tournament will take place.
  19. That's a pretty great observation and really something to think about. What would happen if, say, Dalton Castle was given the World Title at Final Battle this year?
  20. Dalton should be in the main event programs and have the company built around him. He is the most popular person they have, and even when they have him lose it's not hurting him yet. A guy like that gives you two options. Keep him where he is, because he's not going to be hurt by whatever or to strap a rocket on him and go with it and maybe make the product more popular. Dalton is someone the company could build around, yet the shows are built around what?
  21. I strangely really want to see Hogan-Hiro Saito.
  22. The fact Dalton Castle is not their biggest star shows how clueless this company is.
  23. Seriously this is freaking art. I wish more people were reading this. Man you should put this on wordpress in a blog or something too, it's freaking great.
  24. Can Steve Doll & Rex King enter the tournament or The Headhunters or is this tournament only for the great names of the Midwest?
  25. What about the fun WCW run in 97 too?
