  2. At least until a few years ago the official numbers were often complete fantasy numbers and totally unreliable. And the whole "No Vacancy", "Super No Vacancy", "Super No Vacancy Full House" scale is just plain and simply stupid.
  3. Undertaker using the term "race card" is a proof that WWF wasn't doing everything right at that point, an idea you might get just by watching the Hart Foundation - Austin - HBK stuff.

  5. This came out of nowhere. I would have never expected this one to be so good. I think Hall might have been the MVP of this match. He was coming pretty directly from rehab, right? Though if you replaced Kevin Nash by a mannequin the match probably would be exactly the same...
  6. The stuff with Furnas and Kroffat just seems weired. Why did they interfere and brawl with both factions? I guess the idea behind this is was the battle for the tag team title (Owen and Bulldog were champs, LOD were the top contenders), but still...
  7. It also made Rey look stupid as he did not even bother to think about any backup after what happened a few weeks earlier.
  8. I was surprised about the VQ and sound quality of this. I did not expected this from a 97 indy show.
  9. The problem with this whole question is that it is like comparing apples with oranges. Boxing is a sport, pro wrestling is a form of entertainment where being athletic is a plus but not a necessity. There are pro wrestlers, who have the skills to beat great boxers, most don't.
  10. The way this thing begin I was very close to hitting FF, but when Raven got angry this was actually pretty good for some seconds until it completely fell down a cliff. I could have lived with "end my pain", but "end my life, Stevie" is just too much. It's strange, back in 97 and 98 when Raven joined WCW I thought this was a great character. Either the Raven character is something that resonates very well with 16 year-olds or this was a gimmick that just fit the Zeitgeist.
  11. This was a great visual though probably hell to clean-up.
  12. And it's really obvious: Having the gimmick math rematch of the PPV main event with maybe a cleaner finish than at the PPV is Russo 101. There was also this camera shot from the ambulance front-row, which probably would not have happened a few weeks earlier.
  13. Wasn't the TV show called "Garage Wars" or something like that?
  14. I am not sure if "Wrestling With Shadows" is a great title but it's so much better than the German title of this docu: "Die heimliche Wut des Catchers Hitman Hart", which translates to "The Secret Wrath of the Catcher Hitman Hart".
  15. Wow, they used here the Apartheid flag which had been abolished three years earlier. WWF going with the times as always. "You cannot hold talent down, talent always rises to the top." - funny line to here out of Vince's mouth.
  16. The finish of the first part looked horrible as Funk initially put Sandman completely out of position for the moonsault so Sandman tried to readjust his positioning, something I really hate seeing. Furthermore Funk was not aware of Sandman doing so therefore he tried to readjust his jump as well which resulted in a horrible landing. That Raven vs. Funk part was overbooked and the content did screw up the great build up by Funk a bit. Also Reggie Bennett's powerbomb looked horrible,
  17. That ring was very bouncy. It also was strange to see these six to completely screw up a spot: TAKA and Teioh tried to double armdrag Sasuke into Togo's arms for a powerbomb (which, I guess, Sasuke was supposed to counter with a hurrancanrana) which completely failed. They tried to redo the spot and even that didn't look very good.
  18. It's funny hearing the announcer shout "ippon, soremade" (Judo call indicating an instantaneous end of a fight) when Hashimoto gets in a nice Judo throw on Ogawa.
  19. Would make sense as Taker was working this show. Probably TAKA thought it was a good idea to make a good impression on him.
  20. This did "win" the WON award for most disgusting promotional tactic.
  21. Kimberly taking the George Steele role when they redo the Wrestlemania III ring bell spot is pretty funny.
  22. If aliens ever saw this they would assume that Dundee and Jacobs are part of different species.
  23. The floatover DDT that the Rock used here would have been such a cool move, if only he would have hit it halfway decent more than one in five times...
  24. Oh yeah, an Bret talking about family values is pretty funny in hindsight.
  25. I like Quack a decent amount, but I'm not sure I agree with this part. Who has he trained that really "made it" (in any sense of the term, indies or WWE)? Does Claudio count? Or Kingston? Claudio was already wrestling for a few years and was showing promise before he met Quack for the first time.
