There's a huge difference though. Mox was a cult favorite from the indies before he join WWE. And he was part of the hottest act in the company in the early 10's. Baron Corbin was a boring goon from day 1 in NXT and has always been a boring dull-ass uncharismatic worker who had go-away heat for the longest time. All of these guys would fit in AEW probably, but I do agree a stint in IMPACT or ROH to recharge their batteries and clean off the bad taste would help, especially for a guy like Tozawa. Ricochet had so much hype before he join WWE that he could show up in AEW tomorrow and be shot right up into the TNT title scene though. He legit looked like a can't-miss in LU (although he was upstaged there by Fénix already) and of course, well... Is Gran Metalik still employed ? Talk about a guy who's career has been killed dead by joined the E. Mascara Dorada was so awesome... Both Kevin Steen & El Generico in AEW would rule so hard.

It's way early to write off Andrade. How many matches has he even worked yet ? It took months for Miro to find his footing and the right formula. The issue with Andrade is more social media signs of douchebagery and wide ego while he really has not looked like the guy who had maybe the greatest WWE match ever in NXT. I guess he wants to talk, and that's how you progress too. But yeah, it's been a bit awkward. At least they got him away from Vickie quick enough and Chavo is pretty cool. But the real test will be the PAC match. If he delivers a killer match, it will eases things up. If he doesn't, against fucking PAC, well, it's gonna get more difficult.

This board was *way* behind the times in 2016 (and that includes me BTW, I did not get Omega nor the Bucks at all while if I voted now Omega would get #1 or 2 and both the Bucks are easy top 20 as they would be #1 tag team by a wide margin).

NOOOOO !!!!!! Leave my beloved promotions alone people ! Don't fantasy book your shitty WWE guys in it ! I already have to deal with completely shitty W. Morrissey matches ! Hager > Corbin. Faint praise, I know. Corbin is the ultimate WWE-lite go-away heat guy. Plus Hager did not come straight from WWE when he was hired, he had been in LU and MLW before.

Nope. AAA never booked Omega in such matches. If they get Bryan, Konnan will know what to do with him. Now, will AAA fans know or care about Bryan, I honestly don't know, but that's neither here nor there.
-
Nope. And neither does its audience. Totally agree but : "He's too short !" Vince. And I'm pretty sure IRL the guys just looks pretty normal. I always thought of the "airport test" as basically being big and tall. I know, and of course it's ridiculous, but that isn't less insulting to hear. Yep. No brainer, both of them.

I mean, especially such a godawful band like Europe with such a godawful song as the Final fucking Countdown. Of course it's great in a total ironic way. Maybe that's why they asked for too much...

Even back during his super fun cruiserweight stint in WCW, there was talk about how the matches were not as good as they were when it was all about Eddie/Dean/Rey. He sure was seen as a bigger star in WWE, because, well, he was for most of his career (except for the short time Eddie was pushed to the top), and that always help in term of general perception, but I can't remember a time where Jericho was revered like Benoit, Eddie, Angle, Rey were as an in-ring worker.
-
Considering he was never *EVER* spoke about at the same level as the Radicals or Rey or Christian (RVD on the other hand, come on now), not then and not at any point, where is the "revisionist history" exactly ? Jericho has a tremendous body of work in the WWE during the 00's, working against, yes, a lot of great workers. For years in the last decade though his work has been mostly panned, including against a bunch of great workers, and it's only when he showed up in NJPW that he enjoyed a true renewal of interest and hype. Jericho has never been considered like this great all-time worker and there was always criticism about his in-ring work dating back to his WCW stuff. No idea what people are talking about here.

If I were Danielson, who was the most diplomatic ever in how he addressed his departure, I would be so insulted. Not a big loss ? I mean, it's not surprising, basically the only guys they care about are Reigns, Lesnar and to an extent I would guess Orton. But really it's Reigns, Lesnar and that's it. And I guess Charlotte & maybe Becky (even that one is debatable since she could not get to Mania's main event by herself). No one else is seen as important. It also sends one hell of a message to their own roster when Adam Cole and Daniel Brian are seen as "no big loss". You're all expendable worth-nothing peons, ladies and gentlemen the WWE "Superstars". No wonder people who left look so fucking happy when they end up in AEW. Prichard probably thinks that since Adam Cole doesn't pass the airport test, therefore he can't be a star... What a giant tool this guy is. Amazing how many people have bought into his shit at the beginning of his podcast because they were enjoying his Jerry Jarrett impersonnation.

Actually when you think about it : CM Punk, Young Bucks, Kenny Omega, Bryan Danielson. Is it the healthiest main event roster ever ? Punk is straight edge, Omega doesn't drink or do drugs either, neither do the Bucks I believe, isn't Danielson vegan ? That's a pretty striking picture of how pro-wrestling has evolved.

Triple H & Shawn doing the DX redux was a bad case of "How do you do fellow kids ?"

But Jericho already lost the feud. The feud was over. MJF won after the 5 tasks series. Then Jericho asked for one last single match, because he needed to prove to himself that in the end, he could beat MJF, and if he couldn't, he would retire. Pretty simple stuff. And it worked. I mean, I'm strictly being descriptive here.
-
I think he's just being thrown a bone on PPV because of his good backstage work. Meltz reported that the placement of this match before the main was in case the card would go too long. It was kinda fun but honestly I though Wight looked like his knees are totally shot. I really don't need to see more of him in the ring, unless he's doing a single chokeslam. So, you're going into the last match and segments of the show ? Lucky you. I probably rewatched that post-match a dozen times since yesterday...
-
The Inner Circle vs Pinnacle was a blood feud. The final Jericho match vs MJF was not about that blood feud anymore. It was about Jericho proving himself he could beat MJF.

Vikingo. Taurus. Please.

That's QT Marshaaaaaall for you. And if you enjoy Tay Conti's work, you can thank him for extracting the Performance Center suck out of her in a matter of a few months.
-
Yeah, of course, that was understood. Just wanted to get some LUV to the *real* GOAT.
-
Totally agree. Meanwhile, I still see people jerking off to every Lawler's punches. Sorry, but I take a simple anti-vaxx/MAGA idiot over a guy who "may" (wink wink nudge nudge) have raped underaged girls any day, in term of playing the moral card (which is always dubious when you talk about pro-wrestling to begin with). But again, another matter. Speaking of which, I did not get the "We want Tessa" chants during the show. Well, she's an awesome worker, for sure... Cursed, of course.
-
He is, but that's also why I love him so much. Maybe because I understand the "being a goof" part (which is deeper than people think, but that's another matter). I can relate. Well, of course but really in singles match he was 0-2. The one brillant things that gets overlooked is that he always talked about "never wrestling in AEW again" if he lost. Which could have meant it was an exit door to still work NJPW or even him thinking he could go back eventually to WWE, which made the stip even more believable. Great use of meta here.

Believe me, Omega will have a great match with CM Punk. He has ways to have a great match with *anyone*. Crazy luchador Fénix ? Check. Up and comer underdog Jungle Boy ? Check. Insane brawler in an Onita-style deatchmatch ? Check. 48 years old Christian Cage who certainly can't go like Okada would ? Check. Omega will have a great match with Punk, because he can. Because he's the GOAT #2 or 1.
-
I think people take things for granted and if Jericho isn't delivering a billion stars match, he has to be totally useless (like CM Punk, who apparently after 7 years + absence totally sucks or something and already overstayed its welcome). Nuance ? What's that ? Oh, anyways...
-
You aren't following the product, are you ? The story is "Is Jericho able to beat MJF in a pro-wrestling match", it's not a "blood feud" (which really is an overused term). He lost two times before, he has to prove to himself that he can beat MJF. He's got an injured elbow and MJF's finisher is the Fujiwara armbar, hence the work on the elbow and the focus on submission since Jericho already submitted once to MJF. There is no reason to have a no-DQ match here. It could be Jericho's last match ever, so there's every reason in the world to be methodical, on both part. As far as Jericho's work goes, people seem to forget that he's 50 years old. He's been doing mighty fine for his age and blows away tons of guys who at 50 were washed up shells of themselves, and that includes guys like Flair, who was legit *not good* at the same age. The old-school callbacks were very well executed. MJF is super solid and has improved a lot. The finish was actually brillant. Overall, it was a very good match, really.

Cobb is going to the finals. You can quote me.

There are indeed a few signs since the very beginning indicating that this whole Andrade thingy may not end well... Considering Rush is doing the "Losing my smile" bit in ROH (as opposed to the über-pro Adam Cole who got a short extension on his contract just to end his feud with Roderick Strong because it was important to him) and the fact I doubt Tony K. would give Beastia del Ring a charity paycheck and the fact Charlotte won't leave WWE.... I dunno, as far as Ingobernables goes, I'd rather fly in Naito & Takagi. The guy better have a killer match against PAC (and it's not that hard to have a killer match with PAC), because having subpar performance and a shitty attitude won't fly in this company... Especially not now.
