As always, AEW gets more laser focus criticism than any other company ever. The jobber did not "control most of the match", it's just factually wrong. Also, Omega did not even use nor even tease (I don't think) his actual finisher, so in term of storytelling, it still looks like this was a heated competitive showcase, at worst. It's like Bret Hart ending a competitive jobber match with his elbow drop of doom and not bothering to use the sharpshooter. Yeah, this is so gonna hurt him after he had one of the greatest match ever (again) on the last PPV. Seriously now...

Same as before. Dumbfucks.

So yeah, since I'm confined are bored, I watched the TNA "ECW" build-up and show. Really cool stuff. That promo by Dreamer two weeks or the week before was something else and if there's only one thing to credit Dixie for, that would be it. Sabu vs RVD and Dreamer vs Raven matches were terrific old-school ECW stuff. Loved it. TNA 2010 actually became quite watchable around that time, despite the booking that was as stupid as ever (and the women division really got fucked over, although Madison Rayne was already beginning to become really fun). Really cool last ride show for the ECW guys (no idea why Shane Douglas did not appear though).

Sending dick pics to underage girls ? Hum.... And really, if his days with WWE aren't over if that stuff is confirmed, WHAT THE FUCK ? Wait, it's WWE we're talking about. Nevermind.
-
Exactly. There's this female french comedian who had that routine "Guys, just stop with the dick picks. Doesn't work. Seriously you have a better chance of getting laid by offering us a cookie."
-
Answer : And really, why do guys send unsollicited dick pics at all ? Smooth operators they aren't.

What a dumbfuck. Can't wait for the "mental health issue" excuse to pop up. Wrestling career over. Maybe he can announce next to Lawler though...
-
Shitstorm incoming.

Ryan Satin is humiliating himself arguing with Meltz on that very topic. Gotta love a perennial WWE shill and fake journalist who actually got hired by the company trying to play the "If he had signed with WWE you'd be saying otherwise" card.

I'm not saying I disagree. I thought he gave him too much too. Just pointing out that untouchable figures like Flair did exactly the same thing. Going toe to toe is a gross overstatement though. Even Jericho mentioned that Omega was basically toying with him at the end, and it lasted what, just a few minutes. He didn't even use his actual finisher to end the guy either. This. Yeah, Omega gave him too much. Do I think it will matter in any way shape of form at the end of the day ? Nope. All of this too.

People bitching about Kenny Omega giving too much to a job guys... *cough* Ric Flair *cough* Remember when people thought having squash matches was needed and that it was better than actual competitive matches ? Well, it ain't. Once in a while, ok, but really, that makes for some uninteresting stuff... Wardlow looks like a colorless Adam Bomb thus far, honestly. Or some WCW Thunder Power Plant guy. And yeah, Brodie Lee showing up and doing it better while looking much more scarier doesn't help. I kinda like the threesome of Havoc, Sabian & Penelope. Wait, I did not say that. These shows are made a whole lot better than they actually are thanks to the awesome announcing by Schiavone & Jericho. Damn, Jericho has turned himself into a living legend with this AEW run. I don't miss JR one bit. Hell, JR solo "sports-like" announcing the previous week only made the never-ending Hager vs Mox match even duller than it was. With Jericho & Tony at the helm, it would have been more entertaining to watch for sure. These shows are ok but also a bit sad to watch. The BTE format works so much better during those circumstances.

If some of these guys and girls can find work elsewhere when all is said and done, why the fuck would they want to even approach this company again ? Really. Getting fired during a pandemic while you can't get no other job just to insure big ass dividends.
-
Google is odd. BTW, I think it's safe to say that Roger Couderc was to french catch what Lance Russel was to Memphis. He was awesome.
-
Thanks. Well... like I said, I wouldn't consider this as a valid source at all, unless you stumble on those terms over and over again from publications from when it was really popular (which is way before the 70's). How in the hell did you fall on *this* interview ?
-
I guess, but like I said, never heard it before, in any context. That's why I would be interested to read/hear the source.
-
I would be curious to see that. It doesn't even make any sense relative to a good guy and a bad guy. It would basically mean "good looking" vs "fake" or "cheap". Like, WTF ?
-
No idea where you found such a thing. It's not even a literal translation. The equivalent basically would be "gentil" and "méchant", which are the terms we use for movies too. (basically, "good" and "bad", literally "kind" or "gentle" and "mean")

He almost looks like Varg Vikerness now. No nazi memorabilia on his shelf though...

BTE 200 was like the greatest thing ever. The Barber Shop spot was brillant but the I Love You thing had me legit rolling. Quite a montage too at the end. Amazing to think how much of a waste and how worse pro-wrestling as a whole would be if these guy had gone to the pit that is WWE. What an incredible story.
-
Pro-wrestling is the epitome of sport-as-a-spectacle, the unassumed shadow of what "real sport" actually is, so of course it won't happen. The day pro-wrestling becomes actual performance art and the "sport" aspect gets more and more secondary, maybe then, some guys and girls will step up and say "hey, we are more like actors, let's fucking unionize now". It's all the same entertainment bullshit anyway, but the "faker" it gets, the more real it can become and the more adult and responsible, maybe, those people can be.
-
Unionize, bitches. Until then...
-
Dan is doing an AWESOME job with this BTW. I barely have seen anything from that period. Yeah, maybe that one because basically that was the pro-wrestling my father used to watch for a while. I recognize some of the names. Yeah, maybe one day, but that's very specific. That's the one Roland Barthes wrote about, too.
-
It was what brought me back and made me look toward the future. Honestly if I had my way, I'd take a great new product in the Lucha Underground form rather than AEW (which I really like a lot, mostly). Which is why I love some of the stuff IMPACT does which is straight out of the most fucked up (the whole Undead Realm stuff) or simply the most progressive (Tessa winning the world title) LU stuff.

I would want every show ever announced by Schiavone & Jericho together. It's just so awesome. (although I would prefer AEW not doing shows right now)
