I wish I could watch it live like I did with Rumble & Mania, but I won't be able to. Can't wait to catch up on this thread though, whatever may come of it. Have fun guys (well, hopefully) !

Oh fuck, those Yumi Fukawa WTF matches. I miss these kind of totally random stuff.

Yes it is. It's absolutely god-awful and should never, ever be addressed on air. "Treat it like it's real or just shut the fuck up". It's cringe-worthy enough when announcers say stuff like "match of the year", but at least it can be understood as "it's an awesome competitive match". But throwing star ratings as part of announcing, that's just a no-go-zone. Or it means we've officially entered the "pro-wrestling as figure skating" era.

What Happened When with Tony Schiavone
El-P replied to flyonthewall2983's topic in Publications and Podcasts
Agreed. I must admit, I only listened to the beginning of the HH97 podcast, but the fact Tony watched the Royal Rumble this year and asked Conrad "Who is Big Cass and why the fuck is he on my TV ? He's the drizzling shits." did crack me up. -
People are funny. Back in the days to see a NJ show, you had to pay 20$ plus shipping then wait weeks before it got to you. For a bootleg tape. That took space. And really, if you want to see NJ, or anything else for that matter, for free, it's not very hard either.

I never paid attention before, but Nicki Minaj actualy dropped Hulk Hogan's name in Beez in the Trap.
-
Indeed. That would have been. But now you ruined it already.

What Happened When with Tony Schiavone
El-P replied to flyonthewall2983's topic in Publications and Podcasts
Yep. It was more fun and easier to listen "on the road". The fact the Austin edition was so nothing has something to do with all podcasts being commentary issues since then though. But I'd like other Heenan/Flair editions instead, or old PPV's non-commentary. -
What Happened When with Tony Schiavone

Agreed. I really wish they'd keep the live commentary for very special occasions and focus on topics Tony has stuff to say about. As a weekly feature, the commentary formula kinda jumps the shark with me, despite Tony still being funny and giving some good insights at times. -
What struck me with Ashley is the sad smile turning into something even sadder when she says how she's living Reid's dream, because it wasn't hers. Makes you really feel for her. Hogan fake humility was almost comical though. Still a genius carny.

I've finally watched the first episode. At the 20 minutes point, I was in love with this stuff already. The pro-wrestling casting had me rolling. Amazing Kong ! Marking out. And in quite an odd way, it's exactly the kind of thing that makes me happy of having been a wrestling fan for the last 25 years, because it's I know I'm getting more out of this than non-fans. Can't wait to binge-watch the next episodes.

They cancelled one. Wait, it's not a cancellation, really : “To meet the requests of WWE fans in India, and deliver the biggest main event in the country's history, WWE is combining two nights of family-friendly action into a one-night only, exclusive Supershow.” (Times of India : https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/sports/wwe/top-stories/triple-h-vs-jinder-mahal-to-headline-wwe-live-india-supershow-on-9th-december/articleshow/61640063.cms) Hey, for one show and one match, it was all worth it, right ? RIGHT ?
-
That's Russo being sarcastic. Or trying to be. Which, considering Ken seems to be serious about that stuff, comes off kinda assholish and self-satisfied.
-
Well, I wouldn't pay 11 bucks to see fucking Jinder vs HHH either, really.
-
I guess they'll book Khali for those shows too. That's what I'd do. He's a much bigger star than That Canadian Guy. But still. Who pays 700 bucks for a pro-wrestling show ? Hell, for any kind of show whatsoever ? And in India ? What ?!
-
Seriously, what the fuck ? I wouldn't pay that to see an opera at the Palais Garnier. And there would not be any ticket that ridiculously high anyway. Who are these people ? In what Universe are they living in ? For fuck's sake.

Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard
El-P replied to Lust Hogan's topic in Publications and Podcasts
Haven't listened to the Bret episode yet, but the latest ones, particularly NAO, was way too fucking much of Conrad reading results. -
Atsushi Onita retired. I mean, last week.
-
"What are they gonna do now ? Improvise ?"
-
Fuck yeah. Teaser on FB too !
-
Seriously, who, in the era of free podcast everywhere, would want to pay for this kind of shit ? (hell, I wouldn't even download it for free) Bro...

So let's get this thing right. Upon the rumour of Nia Jaxx taking a leave of absence because she wouldn't do a job to Banks, some of the reactions were "she's doing the right thing standing up for herself". Zayn & Owens actually doing the same kind of thing, they deserve to be released because they are "Indy Darlings"™. Ah ah ah.

And you thought getting rid of Dixie could only mean *better* things. They manage to fuck that part up too. Yeah. Soon, we'll talk about how things worked *better* UNDER Dixie Carter. This company….

I was a Sal Sincere fan. I wanted the guy to be pushed at IC title level ! Maybe it was all the Nino Rota-like theme. But in fact no, I liked when they pushed the guy under his real name against Marc Mero too. Thanks. Yeah, it's ok. I'm just getting into those moods...

Ratings kinda suck. Live attendance kinda suck. But yeah, all this shaking up makes SS much more intringuing on paper (much like last PPV).
