Scott did ?

Like I said in another thread, I just want Kelis to sing "Bossy" during her entrance at Mania.
-
Run DMC in 2000 ? I mean, all respect due to the allmighty Run DMC, but as far as pop culture relevance, it's hilarious that WWE would be that far behind. Even WCW getting Master P in 99 was more relevant (if ill concieved). Well, maybe that means they can get Kelis singing "Bossy" for Sasha Banks at next Mania. Now, that would be all kind of awesome for Banks (and would make my day, I'm a Kelis mark). Tori going hip hop ? Interesting, since apparently she was a yoga/new-age kinda girl.

As good as you'll get from a Yatsu single match at this point. Not pretty, but fun to watch these too throwing bombs at each other. Disjointed though, with some odd pacing at points. Pretty good.

I really liked Rude with DX, because he looked like the toughest bastard ever and brought an aura of dangerosity to the stable. I guess that's why Micheals didn't enjoy it, because him and HHH couldn't even pretend being tough in real life, while Rude was. Double Rude after Montreal remains of of my favourite moment of the MNW.
-
Kinda the same thing, although I enjoyed them longer, basically because that was Shawn's best heel work ever. But as soon as they turned babyfaces, it became silly. I was a Nation fan. The DX comebacks, from the very few I've seen, is something I'm glad I'll never witnessed, and won't revisit, ever.

Of course. But he also says that JBL isn't a bully. Which, by all acount, sounds idealistic, to be generous (well, he also says that Eddie was a "great father"… didn't Eddie basically ODed in front of his family once ?).

Wached this. It's 2015. RF still does the same old "Memories of X" stupid "interview". RF still doesn't edit when Rey check his phone for 30 seconds. It's amazing that anyone would buy his stuff at this point. Being the first in the game surely helped him the most. I wish Rey would work with KC instead. Total nice guy. He even says good things about JBL. Nothing earth shattering in terms of knowing how things work in WWE though, nor really good stories.

Really good Nitro match. It's always odd to see Asai without the mask, as he's clearly one guy who didn't need one (although the Dragon one remains one of my all-time favourite), good looking guy and all. He really gets the star treatment from SWS, who badly needed one other than Tenryu. The announcer actually call him the Ultimo Dragon, so I guess that was his nickname even before he put on the mask. Not familiar with Salvaje, but he looked like a really good worker too.

Hum… I wonder what picture you looked at. Check it on Youtube. Only Jason Sensation (obviously, and he was the only amusing part of the whole deal) and Chyna weren't blackfaces. Looking at this today, it's downright appaling. And Triple H was so not good at comedy.
-
Triple H doing a blackface. Hilarious. DX probably invented wrestling parodies BTW. That nWo Horsemen deal never happened. Neither did Stevie & Meanie doing stuff on ECW TV. DX invented everything great about the Attitude Era.
-
He's actually one of the worst (as in useless and boring) wrestler I can think of. Sucked in any incarnation (okay, Repo Man was funny, but it was all gimmick, it's not like he had any good matches), didn't bring anything to the tag teams he was a part of (except shouting "shut your stinking mouth" and stuff like this), could bring down any good worker (Dustin in WCW comes to mind, the Blacktop Bully matches sucked). At least Jim Neidhart played his limited part well. In the third version of Demolition, Crush was the "workhorse", for god's sake.

The South ? (and I say this only half-jockingly, I wonder if the RnR would have been just as over in New York)

[1991-08-09-SWS] Genichiro Tenryu & Ashura Hara vs Road Warriors
El-P replied to Loss's topic in August 1991
This wasn't any good. No energy displayed by the Warriors, who were cruising sloppily, especially Animal. Tenryu & Hara had a very fun match earlier in the card against Haku & Yatsu though. -
Indeed. Not to mention, having Jay-Z settle with him over the use of the Diamond Cutter hand gesture.
-
It's volontarily taking the shittiest bump for Diesel's powerbomb at Mania 11 to make him look bad. Yeah. Even to his best pal he was an asshole at points.
-
From where they started to their journey as Kodo Fuyuki's croonies to where they ended up, Jado & Gedo had one hell of a career arc.
-
Actually understanding that one makes me feel like a complete geek...

The two things Martel had over Steamboat to me, which are more Steamboat criticims than anything else : _although Steamboat is obviously an all-time great, at times, his über-registration of shots could get a little bit goofy if you're not in the right mood _those kinda shitty looking open hands "karate" chops are the kind of things you end up accepting because they're just part of Steamboat (like you accept Tenryu's enzuigiris), but if you're truly objective, they don't look very convincing at all, nor even good, actually Martel over Steamboat doesn't shock me at all at this point, unless you'e going for the… *gasp*.. Great Mat… ok, see where I'l going.
-
And the answers to the question are : Ricky Morton & Chigusa Nagayo.
-
Again, Rick Martel has said himself that his heart wasn't into it. That sounds like a pretty reasonnable reason to me. Actually that's why he came back in the late 90's, to end his career on a high note as he was motivated again by then.
-
Solid undercard SWS worker. Super solid upper midcard FMW worker. Has a few really really good singles match (against Hayabusa in 95). Totally underrated. Would be remembered much more fondly if he had worked in New Japan (or maybe not). But not really a top 100 contender.
-
Actually, Martel said before that his heart wasn't totally into wrestling anymore at this point, as he was going into real estate and making good money at it, which is why Vince never pushed the Model gimmick really hard. So, shitty booking I wouldn't say so. FWIW, I loved Martel as the Model. No great matches, but the gimmick was gold and Martel was excellent at it.

Not really surprising. History is written by winners. The Kliq won. But yeah, looking at his title history is pretty damn hilarious. _wins the IC title from Bulldog in late 92. Apart from the rapid switch with Jannetty, doesn't lose the belt, gets suspended or something and puts his pal Razor over at Mania X in the title match. _wins the tag titles with his pal Diesel. Doesn't lose the belts, which get vacated after Survivor Series 94 and the split between the two. _wins the IC title from Jarrett. Doesn't lose the belt because of "injury", belts goes to Douglas who gets jobbed out on the same show to his pal Razor. _wins the WWF title. switch with Kliq's friend Sid, then doesn't lose the belt because he "lost his smile". _wins the tag title with Austin. Doesn't lose the belt because of whatever reason I don't even remember, Foley takes Shawn's place. _wins the WWF title via Montreal screwjob, throws a fit before losing the belt to Austin, with Taker waiting backstage in case of bullshit.
