  1. The Khans buying WWE would be hilarious for so many reasons. But hopefully it doesn't happen, because the last thing pro-wrestling needs is a one-headed monster like WWE has always tried (and still does) to be. I would still probably die laughing though, Schadenfreude notwithstanding. Whatever happens, I don't think any of this is any good for good ol' Paul though.

Awesome episode, mostly (yeah, some of the babyface stuff during the JAS segment was shoddy, especially the lines about Tay, and Saraya still absolutely looks like she has had her second match in seven years, but won't blame her for that). The fact that Omega had that match a week after his GOTY with Ospreay at WK nails it once and for all. He's the greatest pro-wrestler I've ever seen in more than 30 years of watching way too much of this shit. Not that the other ones involved weren't mind-blowing though. Just wonderful stuff. And yeah, Page vs Mox and Takeshita vs Danielson absolutely delivered. Funnily enough, I was thinking about how Cole coming back the same day as Page making his in-ring return would be the perfect 1-2 punch in a meta way (both Adams coming back from bad injuries). That was a terrific feel-good moment.
  3. Yep, since Bully vs Josh opens the show. Well, as it should then. They really are doing a tremendous job with all of this.
  4. That being said, as I'm catching up, Bully Ray remains a terrific promo and angle guy, and it's really amazing he never got to do it in WWE when they were bringing him back for nostalgia purpose only. Also, during that whole closing segment from last week, and judging from what he's been doing with the promotion since 2018, Scott D'Amore is actually what everybody *think* Paul Heyman is. Also, IMPACT are masters at producing packages like these : Take notes AEW. This is just perfect, and Mickie James is just wonderful in this. Great job from the little promotion that could and would never go away.
  5. (that's Mercedes doggo, for those who wonder. I can't imagine what the pro-wrestling nerd in her was feeling... "Jushin fucking Liger is playing with my dog !")

The Escalara de la Muerte will cap off one of the greatest series of matches in TV pro-wrestling history. Hopefully no muerte though. Takeshita vs Danielson and Mox vs Hangman are gonna be awesome. I would be very surprised if Mercedes Moné showed up. I don't expect that at all. Fuck ratings. AEW has been on a roll of awesome shows with great crowds, hopefully this one keeps on.
  7. I sure hope they don't put the title on Bully Ray, that one would be a hard pill to swallow, even if it would only be transitional obviously. Actually, the real main event should be Jordynne Grace vs Mickie James in what will either be James retirement, either her last ride as a champ before retiring, maybe at Slammiversary. This storyline has been masterfully done. Rest of the card has some really strong stuff (Miguel vs Taurus; Swann vs Maclin, Edwards vs Gresham, the women four way) and some that should be "pretty ok" like the four way tag team match. Gotta love the new Taylor Wilde character too.
  8. Dragon Lee in AEW in 2023 doesn't stand out. They have better workers than him in his own style (Fénix, Bandido), they have more charismatic workers of his culture (Penta, Bandido, Rush). Dragon Lee is awesome, but there's plenty of awesome workers in AEW that don't get the time. He absolutely made the right choice, although really him making it that far in even a Paul-led WWE is not that great because he can't cut a promo in English, unlike Fantasma. He's also a tiny fella. The one thing also, is that he comes from a background that could be difficult in term of ego management. Thus fan Rush has played ball really well. But Dralistico already showed his ass (and he's far less talented).
  9. How dare you make light of Cena doing a Make-a-Wish for Xi Jinping ?
  10. Whoever buys it next, Vince is running it, until he can't physically do it.
  11. "Pro-wrestling has more than one royal family"
  12. Nick Khan means nothing for creative. He's an executer from outside. He's gonna do what Mr. McMahon tells him to do, including firing people again if need be. He can move to another business realm and not bat an eye. Thinking Vince being back doesn't mean WWE is entirely Vince's creature again (was it ever not ?) is fooling yourselves. Vince is WWE, WWE is Vince. He won't go unless it's under his own will entirely, and he apparently won't let WWE be without him deciding what's it's gonna be. Oh, to be a mouse somewhere in Paul & Stephy's house and listen to the conversations....
  13. This first 2023 week of AEW has been nothing short of amazing. And this week's Dynamite on paper is just a complete killer show. Hopefully no one dies in that escalara de la muerte match, Omega just having confirmed his status of GOAT beyond the GOATs and true divinity of pro-wrestling at WK.
  14. Not to mention the guys in AEW who thought WWE was paved with Triple H's gold for them now. Regal had the greatest timing ever too. Holy shit. If I'm Jay White, no way I'm signing with them now (he's leaving NJPW soon, as expected with the stip for his match with Hikuleo), that bitch is tiny. If Vince sells to the Saudis, I may never stop laughing.
  15. "It was me ! It was me all along !!" Wonder if they'll release a public statement with "Well, she actually did suck like we told you six months ago". 2023 is already the gift that keeps on giving.
  16. Happy new year WWE Universe. Bwahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahahaha.........................................................................
  17. Omega vs Ospreay : ∞ stars at the Tokyo Dome. You shall end pro-wrestling now. It has peaked.

  19. Yes but also, a lot more benefits. The question is : would she have done it if she was an employee ? (and also not underpaid considering what WWE makes; Meltz mentioned it the other day, even with what Sasha asked WWE, which was a lot more than what they were willing to give her, she would be underpaid, like everyone is basically) As it is, I can't see it as anything but incredibly petty bullshit and shady business. Considering they built the entire NXT 2.0 around her when it started, and then kept on pushing her like she was the biggest star this side of Bron Breakker, who's basically still a rookie, they must not have been *that* down on her. Toxic Attraction was basically the top act of the show at least for the entire first period. At this point she seemed to have a bigger profile in the company than most female save for the top ones on the main roster.
  20. If that's the same story I'm thinking about, they used the classroom to shoot a scene, that's very different. Well, there's a lot of work to be done in term of recognize sex-work as work and prevent slut-shaming. Funny how the same corporate publicly traded company had no qualms about making several exposé in Playboy with several "Divas" some years back. The one real difference is that, well, they were making money off of it. And that brings us back to the bullshit independent contractor status that, in any other realm, would have been successfully contested. I mean, if Uber drivers somewhere can make their status changed to employees, pro-wrestler should be able to do so as well.
  21. This. Just PVZ your way into not giving a fuck.
  22. Say that again without bursting out laughing at the amazing hypocrisy. And yes indeed, Saudi Arabia motherfucker. Also : "independent contractors" Also : years of sexualizing women, including her, telling girls in NXT they have to dress sexier and show flesh and then talk about "morality" and "sponsors" (and once again : Saudi Arabia motherfucker) Also : ignoring the amazing timing of it while Vince is accused of rape and sexual assault again. It's just pathetic, on pretty much every level.
  23. I'm sure Mattel will have no issue doing toys with Gable Stevenson either.
  24. Hey, if she can make 60$ a piece selling pics of her pussy and giving a * rating to a willing dick pic, more power to her. Also, funny how after Vince is getting sued for RAPE and more sexual assault stuff, now the discourse is distracted toward Mandy. WWE : influencing the world.
  25. Why ? She did not give good ratings ?
