PWI is reporting Punk signed a new deal or a contract extension
-
some are speculating that with Bryan winning he will be part of the angle and go after the ROH title.
-
maybe they really are going to let him heal those injuries
-
Punk has accomplished what Pillman wanted to 15 years ago but couldn't quite pull off
-
pretty ballsy move by Vince. Unless they have Del Rio win tomorrow I guess they'll just use the one title until Punk comes back in a few months
-
Miz just completely blew out his knee in the MITB match. Poor bastard. He'll be out for a while edit: Meltz says he's ok. Maybe a work?

I didn't think Lord James Blears was that bad. During the Bockwinkel/Hennig 60 minute draw he tries to cover up the pathetic performance by Trongaard. Trongaard was completely clueless and the worst announcer I've ever heard (color would be Mark Madden) -

I think it was obvious Gorilla hated smaller wrestlers. He used to egg on Heenan on Prime Time that Rick Rude was a "pipsqueak". It's something I didn't notice as a kid but sticks out now. Question how did Gorilla keep winning Worst Announcer when Ron Trongaard was *right* there? I mean you can make an argument that Gorilla was a poor announcer but there was no way he was worse than Trongaard -
Punk clearly being an 80s WWF mark adds another great dynamic to his interactions with Vince

Vince getting Punk to momentarily break with a Sky Low Low reference might have been the highlight of the closing promo. I didn't know Vince still had that in him and Vince/Punk have scary chemistry together. Like mind blowing stuff. They need to work a program between them someday. Holy shit was that awesome

Michael Hayes is out as Head Writer of Smackdown. Replaced by Ed Koskey. This is actually semi important news as Hayes has been a proponent of pushing the established stars instead of elevating new talent. Probably won't be a dramatic change in booking but could still be interesting to watch http://www.prowrestling.net/artman/publish...e10019458.shtml -
that was a pretty shitty thing to do by Dusty. Missy looked legit scared for her life when Abby picked her up and she was clearly in tears afterwards. Mick has admitted to having a crush on Missy in the past because she was nice to him when he first started. And sweet God does she look hot during this period. I can remember they had an ad for her hotline working out in a half tee shirt and shorts. Sad to see what happened to her really

I was real young so maybe things were different but we didn't have the station. Not till 1996 -

I'm kinda in the same situation as funk. Our cable system didn't offer TBS when I was a kid so all I had to watch was WWF, AWA on ESPN, whatever was airing on ESPN on Weekday afternoons (World Class, Global, etc). I completely understand the problems the WWF had in the 80s but man they just made me care about their big matches and shows more. We used to get WSBK out of Boston up here and that had Wordwide and I rented as many NWA/WCW PPVs from Blockbuster that my parents let me. I really liked the different presentation that they had to offer but the WWF still could promote that "big match feel" just a little better -

I drove my poor mother crazy about this in the mid/late 80s. I can remember being kind of disappointed on how small the figure was when it finally arrived -

I can remember Keller reporting that Patt Patterson begged Vince McMahon to not got through with the Iraqi sympathizer angle and have Warrior win at the Rumble and do Hogan/Warrior 2 at Mania 7 but Vince saw dollar signs -

Piper in the Survivor Series 90 match with Perfect's team v Warrior's team: "There's a lot of heat in there!" then he tries to cover it up by pretending he was talking about the temperature. Ha! -

didn't the WWF also air one these in 95 or 96? Maybe it was just this one. And yeah I was shocked and confused when they acknowledged Vince as the CEO. -

as I said in the Punk promo thread was he legit trying to look like Freddie Mercury? He's totally commited to his character I guess. He also looked like the environmental guy Jim Carrey played on In Living Color http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P8tfuBIutLI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DsiM-xIbNiA -

it felt like "same old, same old" for me with Hogan fighting against the evil foreign force (technically not but..). 1991 sees the transition to a more adult themed product to a degree so I remember it fondly. 1990 WWF is painfully dull until around Survivor Series 90 when it picks up slightly -
Was Punk purposely trying to look like Freddie Mercury? I'm being serious

wow Deb Miceli was just terrible on the mic. Some of her promos on Nitro from 96/97/99 were just embarrassing. She was a great second and at times looked incredibly hot but she couldn't cut a promo to save her life and yeah I guess I was afraid to say it but both of these women often sounded mentally challenged
