  1. We agreed on him flying in for TV tapings on Wednesdays. The WWF just assumed he'd be taking a bus.
  2. Jesse is the sort of heel that could lead a stable and speak for his partners as well.
  3. Someone had a really good point in there. Cena doing this stuff seems like a way to push back against his critics who thinks he doesn't do movez, especially when facing guys who do. He should go the other way with it. It'd mean a hell of a lot more for him to pick up an Oklahoma slam or Calf Branding or something less goofy. To play to his strengths.
  4. I feel the complete opposite. Maybe because I first saw it 12 years ago done by the Amazing Red and it's nothing new to me, but it's pretty much just a Sunset Flip with the receiver taking a back bump. It looks cool, but I have no issue with it just being a two count signature move or a low impact flash pin move. I'd probably like it best as a transition move to cut off a long heat run.
  5. Mayhem in Atlanta: The bloody challenge of Jake Roberts that keeps Butch Reed up at night.
  6. What former champion is going to be joining up with Jimmy Hart in the Central States area? And what will it mean for Kevin Sullivan?
  7. Maybe you should pick up Fidel Sierra then?
  8. i didn't pick a territory because I didn't have time! How the hell am I going to make a fake newsletter about a fake wrestling scenario! That said, I was trying really hard to position myself as Terry Justice, just with Fidel Sierra instead of Eddie Gilbert, but either no one got the joke, or it just wasn't funny (probably the latter). Depending on what time I have, we'll see.
  9. I use the word "Great" a lot.
  10. You can be my booking assistant in a month when you have more free time. That is a kind offer. I sort of feel like Ken Mantell in this thing, so caveat emptor. that said, I'll be happy to look at how things are in July and chip in. In the meantime, I'm also more than happy to talk to anyone about what they're up to and listen to ideas.
  11. The amount of thought, time and effort some of you guys are putting into this are making me feel justified in my decision not to play long. I'm coming into a rough 3-4 week work period and I know I would have wanted to go all out on this.
  12. Blanchard promotes like he wrestled.
  13. The Rhodes brothers going over the Shield, definitely. And the Survivor Series win (Caused by Sting) too, though that only mattered for a month.
  14. Just don't take Mosca, Jr. He's the shits.
  15. He's HHH's Human Avatar who has his Blessing and Power to do His Good Work.
  16. This is the most work-rate-y match in years?
  17. This is a territory where Buddy f'n Rose, the most incendiary guy imaginable, didn't draw. Why didn't he draw? Because he had too good matches with jobbers. Watching a good match on TV bewildered the NYC crowd and they didn't think he was a threat. He worked TOO hard.
  18. I actually think Johnny Rodz probably meant more to the MSG crowd in 1983 than Billy Robinson did. And that's just as Rodz. Medico 2 would be way more over with the PR crowd in 83 than guys like Ole and Robinson would be with the MSG crowd in 83. And I say that as a huge Robinson fan.
  19. Playing catch up. I think I liked this match more than the last, but if you merged the two of them you'd get something really great. I'd love to have seen a match with this opening session, up to Cena's five knuckle shuffle, the heat segment of the first match, and maybe a shorter version of the wild finishing stretch of the first one. Here, everything felt more deliberate and spaced out more which was better in some ways and worse in others. I would have liked more counters to the finishers instead of the kickouts, but I think moving forward, Cena's frustration in not being able to put Owens away was as giving as anything he did in the first match. I laughed out loud giddily at the kick during the handshake. I'm a horrible person.
  20. Loser has to take on Bulldog Bob Brown.
  21. To be fair, he can sell a lot of popcorn during that match. The NYC crowd wants to see John Studd vs Ivan Putski.
  22. I thought Studd should go around here. I actually thought he'd be a great pick for Parv's next. I could see him worrying about stinking up cards, but he's a perfect Andre opponent. I think he'll work well in World Class though.
  23. Joe Blanchard surrounds himself with craven madmen.
  24. Adonis probably went later than he should have for 83. EDIT: Ah, that's why.
  25. It'll make a hell of a six man tag team too.
