  1. I mean that's an active thing for sure and you can knock that. But Tegan Nox/Nixon Newell arrived in NXT with a blown-out knee at 22 years old. You can watch her last few months on the indies to see how she was favouring it. Velveteen Dream who is 25 years old in August already has chronic back problems, has been out injured the last three months and not for the first time either. The consequences of the modern style are real.
  2. Nearly everyone in WWE thinks Austin is the second coming. John Cena gave Austin a huge hat tip on Instagram a few months ago too. After his tryout, the WWE Performance Center coaches wanted Austin to report to the PC directly. They and Gabe had a huge tug of war over him. Really vicious and the end result lead to a lot of heat/resentment towards Gabe as Triple H ultimately ruled his favour. PC coaches didn't want Austin to blow out his knees or shoulders doing modern indie style matches in EVOLVE. While Gabe thought he could make Austin an indie star and put some cred under his fingernails. Gargano and Ciampa most recently held their hands up in the media saying "yeah our bodies can't hold up to the main roster schedule". Similarly Allesiter Black spent a lot of this year on the sidelines - hence the endless backstage vignettes.
  3. I can't really argue. Kross is 34 and made his name it is time for him to sign THE contract. Did his art it is now time to do his money work.
  4. Killer Kross been pushing and supporting all options on his social media this past year. Retweeting and replying to fan "go to promotion x" requests with emojis and Youtube videos. Painting the broadest brush possible. Both Kross and NXT were afraid of being caught up in contract tampering or being seen to be doing that. But yeah it is pretty much a foregone conclusion that he is NXT bound. I don't think he'll be lost in the shuffle he (and Scarlett) are a hell of an act, he's big and there's a huge groundswell of sympathy towards both given how badly both were treated in IMPACT. He handled it with a lot of restraint, professionalism and class. Earned a lot of respect.
  5. Thought NWA PoweRRR was pretty fantastic by relative standards/considering what they have to play with. They really lucked into Stu Bennett being available post-Cornette. Two Joe Galis wouldn't have cut it. Like they are being a bit more liberal with the studio concept showing backstage vignettes and the great Marty sitdown interview. Then there was small things like Aldis endorsing Starks.
  6. At the end of Sunday's ROH TV taping, he said he was looking forward to his 2020 in ROH. As long as you acknowledge ROH is a possibility I'll save the back and front lol.
  7. Pretty fair write up, El-P. While not the highest bar in the world but I thought the Dynasty Hannukah/Christmas segment was probably the best comedic vignette MLW has ever done.
  8. As I posted a while ago on here. ROH was the most likely scenario and I mean 95% likely. No matter what Meltzer reported or BTE teases. ROH is simply offering too much money while with AEW they are tightening the budget and not everyone in key positions like him enough to change that. The trip to NWA has been planned since at least mid-September. ROH and NWA are on decent terms and the NWA was mentioned on the commentary of ROH Final Battle.
  9. There's some fun stuff coming up over the next week. A reaction to the ratings and an acknowledgement that things need to be shaken up. TLC might be sneaky good and eventful.
  10. Not really. No one at the time was really pushing for ROH to build around Ciampa. A strong push for sure. But not as the guy. Also at the time, Ciampa had the reputation of being a bit of a headcase/liability. Not a long time bet like Lethal, Cole etc.
  11. Their Youtube show makes no money nor do they have a TV deal so they have to recoup costs.
  12. I haven't asked about the inside skinny on this but not giving or missing a sample is an automatic fail. It is far easier to be in the system and being used on TV regularly than not. A minefield if you are out of that specific routine. Primo's local/assigned doctor on the island might not have available for whatever reason. Things might legal in Puerto Rico that aren't in the US or on the Wellness list. I do know there's a dedicated in-house app that you scan supplements with that displays what is and isn't approved by the WWE Wellness policy.
  13. I thought Wrestler's Court was IMPACT wrestlers entertaining themselves rather than the audience. While not without some good individual performances entering 2020 lots of tired and dated premises. Something to air at the IMPACT Christmas party on TV.
  14. Jerry Lawler wanted Gordan Solie and was denied. Jerry inducted by William Shatner instead.
  15. You'll get in trouble online for saying things people say offline but yeah. WWE most recently helped Lio Rush for similar issues as ACH and he's absolutely thriving one of the best week to week wrestlers in the industry since his return. Likewise, Alicia Fox with her alcoholism when they had reason to fire her. It came out this week they are aggressively getting Jeff Hardy help again too. Is that that PR and all that jazz of course it is. But it is a preferable outcome. It somehow became the prevailing opinion on Twitter than suddenly rehab was WWE throwing you into a white van and driving it to Titan Tower for mind control or something. I really can't believe how "woke" people ran interference on getting a sick man help when he clearly needed it. When WWE rehab is third party and possibly the best thing the company does.
  16. WWE kept promising Oney a 205 Live/main roster contract upgrade and never delivered on it for whatever reason. Oney internalised that as any human would when they feel unheard. He never actually wanted to leave. Not a Jon Moxley. He loves the place, a lifer and will be a Performance Center coach after his in-ring career is over.
  17. I got blocked and banned by people for saying let's put ACH's health first before anointing him our (Twitter/social media's) new hero that was going to change the industry and bring about employee status for WWE wrestlers. I was called racist for saying that too no matter how many times I acknowledged WWE and the Pro Wrestling industry being clearly institutionally racist. Also, I was mocked for saying and thinking that ACH's initial videos where he was ranting with the curtains close were a concerning sign. A lot of fans hate WWE so much that they freely dismissed red flags out of hand. I honestly don't know the terms of ACH's release but historically releases like ACH's come from talent not excepting help repeatedly. Look at the likes of Eddie Guerrero and Jeff Hardy in the early 00s for example. But that's not to imply ACH has substance issues by the way. It is a mental health issue and he has acknowledged he has suffered from depression and anxiety issues in the past. I won’t go into specifics for human decency reasons but the things happening off Twitter are even more disturbing than what has transpired on Twitter. His AAW and MLW bookings in the last week did not go well behind the scenes either. Everyone hopes he gets help eventually and the sooner the better. It isn't a good situation at all.
  18. I feel very badly for MJF this is/was the biggest break of his career and it has been largely bungled since his "turn".
  19. This week's PoweRRR was very ropey and kind of desperate feeling. You could see the strings to speak in terms of the things storyline-wise they tried to fix in post-production. MLW is typically everything you and others said Migs. But fans and wrestlers are absolutely raving about the TV taping they did last night and that will start airing this weekend. Not one bad match and the Creative is on point. They actually finally might have gotten their shit together.
  20. It was. Jeremy Borash made that video. You can always tell as he loves drones and overhead shots. WWE not just turning female wrestlers but also giving them a mature look is a fairly interesting developmental. WWE women's wrestlers having a career longer than 3-4 years or being employed past their early 30s is still a fairly new thing. Bayley is 30 and Dakota Kai is 31 you can't rock the girl next door type look forever. NXT was very good this week as it is usually. I wish it was a bit more pass remarkable. It is almost too efficiently booked.
  21. Things can change in a month. But I'd really be shocked if goes anywhere. Talked to three different people who I don't believe talk to each other today about it. ROH is offering "insane" and "massive" money for him to stay. One person added that Marty wants to get more than money to feel good about the move. Whether that means the "book" or a seat on the booking committee I don't know.
  22. This isn't very ProWrestlingOnly but the story I heard (which I believe is talked about in his recent Highspots shoot interview) is that Ford cheated on him at the restaurant she worked with it and Joey dumped her. Besides being as mad as any boyfriend would be he views her as ungrateful to him professionally. What is weird Joey, Penelope and Kip in the Summer were getting on great around the Summertime? There is a Youtube video with the three (I think Alica Atout's channel). And Joey seemed fine with them. Dating in the industry and the pitfalls of it is a story older than time basically. Glad for the modern WWE/NXT trend of long-lasting relationships and intercompany marriages. Much easier to navigate.
  23. It is complicated. Will say more if she signs somewhere. I don't want to hurt her chances anywhere. But basically it seems like she was left in the middle of someone's paperwork on their desk and WWE never got around to her. WWE's talent relations largely sucks every which way communication-wise and promising & underdelivering.
  24. TK was the person in the article and the wrestler who hurt him was PCO. A dynamite situation. There are ROH wrestlers who think publicly siding with ROH currently will kill their career. Equally siding with Joey Mercury is a risk as Joey is such a wildcard. A bad weekend for ROH wrestlers who want just want to keep the head down and get on with it. Social media has really changed the industry. Equally many people think you need to register your reaction immediately. When in fact the actual smart move is just wait it out and the news cycle gets shorter and shorter. It is a Big 4 PPV and a Smackdown-Takeover-Survivor Series-Raw extended weekend too.
  25. Been ranting and raving about ROH's issues for years on social media and forums. MeToo/Sexual harassment is the kill shot and a top to bottom issue with ROH/Sinclair. Joey Mercury has backloaded his campaign trust me..
