  1. They might have the best or best utilised now.
  2. All true. But Terrance House's screening process - if it is like my exposure to UK/Irish reality TV her struggling would include her to be cast rather than it would exclude her. Reality TV thrives on pitching combative and fragile people against each other. Reality TV should offer aftercare and counselling in the transition out of it and after the show is wrapped. Often these initiatives are just PR exercises but at least they are something. I really don't want to start a finger-pointing exercise between her, her family, STARDOM and the production team behind Terrace House. And I really don't know how long Japan has reality TV or the culture behind it either. But in the UK/Ireland reality TV is regarded as a quick, easy and short form of fame. And you are throwing yourself to lions (namely the tabloid and social media). The last thing you'd want anyone you'd care for is to pursue it. My understanding is that Terrace House had a rep of being a quaint and low drama version of reality TV but still you are leaving your reputation and person in the hands of an editor who has to present a cheap, crude, short version of that day's events for the time slot on offer for a commercial purpose.
  3. I hope if/when Kyoko Kimura is able to return to her food truck that interacting with Wrestling fans helps her in her grieving process rather than it being a painful reminder. Her truck is typically found outside at the Shin-Kiba 1st Ring venue.
  4. Just a horrible story for all the reasons previously mentioned. Hana's mother Kyoko Kimura was a fun presence when she wrestled. Someone you didn't want to see have a bad day in real life. STARDOM has been hit hard in recent times by injuries, departures and retirements. Wonder of Stardom Champion Arisa Hoshiki announced her retirement only last Wednesday due to injuries. Rewatching STARDOM is going be very hard as Hana was such a big factor in the promotion. While going forward following them & investing in a new favourite just feels like setting yourself up for disappointment. Too many sad stories in a brief time. They are kinda in that late 80s World Class Championship Wrestling space now even with if STARDOM has new owners set on expansion and houses being up before COVID-19.
  5. Lacey was just playing up to the cameras and playing off her background as a drill sergeant. But it does come across as terrible and backward. Being West Coast-based likely saved Jungle Boy and Sammy from being signed and coming under their umbrella. EVOLVE would be unlikely to fly either in. Sammy had a really bad rep, especially on the Texas indie scene for his immaturity and that would have stood against him. While MJF was courted he was told to wrestle two more years on the indies. And about a year into that AEW reached out. In general Triple H and William Regal are against boy-ish young men. Cole and Gargano go turned down initially for that reason. Hence in part, you have a bunch of mid-30-year-old men with beards on the main roster, NXT and NXT UK.
  6. I don't think things are rosy or anything. It is a small business with small business problems. But I don't see them closing and a deal with streaming stream seems to be the current carrot Lagana is dangling to Corgan.
  7. On WWE's The Bump talk show this week Charlotte in jest teased showing up on 205 Live!
  8. The Twitter of the WrestlingInc news website.
  9. Also, WWE wrestlers aren't paid on the house anymore like in Jim's day. They've downside guarantees in their contracts and WWE is in the TV/digital content business, not the traditional Pro Wrestling business.
  10. Indeed. Jericho did a great job interviewing Sandra Toffoloni, the sister of Nancy Benoit this time four years ago also.
  11. Her English reminded me of Maryse that's all, to be honest. I didn't really put much thought of it.
  12. Atout has no broadcasting education/background. Still isn't slick. Also has made her fair share of mistakes Pro Wrestling etiquette wise. For example, IMPACT fired her for pouting about the lack of opportunities she was being given there. I believe Salina is just concentrating on college. She's signed very long term with MLW and did an interview last month about how many she is there.
  13. I thought Super Power was solid with a main event that ended things on a high note. Will take any I can get first run with a crowd. Maye Valentine has a hell of background a Brazilian Twitter follower of my mine filled me in about her and how famous her Dad is. I thought she was French Canadian: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mayra_Dias_Gomes
  14. "Scarlett Bordeaux" means brothel basically. It wasn't going to fly in WWE.
  15. Yeah, it wasn't the most encouraging start. The scene/dialogue had to be near incomprehensible to normal viewers of the show and that was a pretty laboured kip-up for a budding action star. Becky's future will be interesting. On the WWE The Bump Youtube show she listed a bunch of film projects she'd like to do so things seem fairly advanced, Wrestling career-wise her hips and shoulders are jacked up if you've noticed she's slowed down a lot and she's 33 and wants to have children too. Becky is only one of WWE future issues. Roman Reigns likely won't be back until there's a vaccine. The roster overall is showing it's age/vulnerability with the likes of Kevin Owens (35) having some kind of ankle injury, on Smackdown next week Jeff Hardy (42) with legal issues still pending confronts Sheamus (42) returning from rehabbing spinal stenosis for an extended period of time and if you've noticed hasn't taken many bumps yet.
  16. You can think whatever about Deonna Purrazzo's talent and potential. I acknowledge most of everything the author of this says and a lot of comments in the comment section. And obviously this comes from a self-interested wrestler's POV and for the entire history of Pro Wrestling wrestlers come and go, often are unhappy & some stints in a promotion simply don't work out. But still, Deonna in her interview Fightful and other outlets offer an honest insight into what NXT's culture is like in 2020. A lot of things are things fans have cottoned on to but it is the first time a wrestler has said them on record: https://www.cagesideseats.com/wwe/2020/5/1/21244103/deonna-purrazzo-wwe-nxt-creative-issues-culture She also says outright WWE only signed her to keep her away from All In and what would eventually become AEW.
  17. According to a well connected Twitter account, Vince is just at no fucks left to give after the last 2 weeks. https://www.wrestlinginc.com/news/2020/04/backstage-talk-on-vince-mcmahon-wwe-smackdown-demeanor-669660/
  18. Given the events of over the last 2 weeks or more. I was expecting to be angry the next time I saw Vince on screen but he was just old and ambling along here. I find my ire being impulsively drawn to Triple H instead even though Vince is actually calling the shots.
  19. The office believes it to be true. Several WWE and NXT wrestlers do also. It is 2020 verifying a hack it pretty easy especially when you have WWE's resources. His behaviour has been extra erratic in the last few weeks which has to lead to issues during the taping of his matches and the quality of the matches themselves.
  20. The best-case scenario is that Drake gets re-signed so to wrestle amid a pandemic. How messed up is that? He will likely feel the need, even more so, to wrestle during this than he did before being fired. Also, he's the lowest of the lowest guy on the totem pole a wrestling manager vaguely between the 205 Live, NXT and Smackdown brand & from the UK - WWE likely sponsors his Visa. Also, think about the messages all that sends to the locker room?
  21. That. Strictly speaking about her release only I just think the left hand didn't know what the right hand was doing when it came to her. How it has been handled since is definitely shitty. I know a lot of people stood up for her at the Raw taping. In a WWE.com profile, Steve Corino listed Sarah as his protege. Steve has a lot of influence and is being groomed to replace Michael Hayes when he retires. Sarah is well-liked by the roster in general. No trouble. I expect her to get re-signed.
  22. He can't leave New York and attend shows. Same deal as Proud and Powerful.
  23. The veneer of what NXT was has eroded in recent years. Was this aspirational product and perceived meritocracy at one time. But with Vince McMahon fucking so many call ups up just made fans feel what's the point being invested. NXT spent so much time styling itself as hip only for it to be exposed once it joined USA Network and their demos came out. And of course, AEW kicking its ass in key demos, overall and in terms of internet buzz.
  24. To my understanding, he's just stuck in New York. Like Proud and Powerful.
  25. Out until July supposedly. But who leads it? Personally never heard of any strong sentiment in WWE for one, unfortunately. Unless there was a massive change of mind overnight. Expect 16-20 cuts on the Smackdown side of the roster today (Friday). And a rag taggle of NXT, producers and on-screen talent.
