WWE TV 09/14 - 09/20 Nearly all of our biomes are burning
rovert replied to KawadaSmile's topic in WWE
Her knee has gone out several times in recent years working a light indie schedule. It is another vote against the NXT talent. Another time Bruce Prichard has shown more comfort working with talent he has previously worked with. -
No which is telling in itself. Tay leapfrogged her. Anyway speaking of signings. I am reading everything into them calling Ben an AEW newcomer - as well as him wrestling on the special obviously.
-
You can look at all the other spots in the match too and the fact they had to cut to tight shots of the ring as a lot of wrestlers walked away from ringside in disgust over Ivelisse's professionalism. Two AEW wrestlers I talked to said it was the first in-ring shoot in AEW history also.
-
Also, check out the strike exchange at the start and how many times they walked away from each other and Ivelisse's body language in general. And keep in mind the match was edited and taped last week. I hope people report the events around the ring and after the match. Ivelisse is intent on ruining every opportunity she is given sadly. A very strong edition of Dynamite that never dragged. Having relatively restrained/traditional matches all-night set the table for and helped emphasise the brutality of the main event. A relatively mature decision by a company who can overdo violence and high spots.

Nah it is (broadly) true. WWE has a media liaison who handles this type of stuff. It is killing me that his name has slipped my mind. Meltzer's big-time sources have left the company long ago and he's lazier about backstage news than ever. Also, this at a time where there are more co-opted journalists than ever. The flow of information in Pro Wrestling has changed a lot now. WWE Wrestlers know very little and what they do know they are the last to be told on. The people who know the real stories and company direction are the marketing and media people in WWE even ahead of large portions of the Creative team.

His recent Twitter follows are pretty interesting a bunch of active wrestlers many who were fired this year who have since been outspoken about WWE's labour practices, a bunch of journalists and CM Punk. https://twitter.com/AndrewYang/following How recently those wrestlers were let go runs in contrast to those who filed a lawsuit against WWE in 2008 headed up by Scott "Raven" Levy. Levy and several other former wrestlers sued to attempt to get employee status for wrestlers claiming they were not independent contractors. But the lawsuit was thrown out due to the statute of limitations from when the WWE contracts were in place to when the lawsuit was filed had expired. The 2020 releasees and Yang could cause WWE a lot of problems.

Late last year she showed initiative in filing her US work visa herself when it came due. Instead of letting WWE renew it as her work sponsor. That really saved her when she got released as if she didn't do that she probably would have had to leave the US and go back to Brazil.

The only explanation I've ever heard that would make sense for his behaviour (which could be completely false) is that he suffers from PTSD. He did serve in the United States Army. Was stunned that Bix decided to associate with him again after he spent years threatening to assault if he ever saw him publicly.
-
I enjoyed it. But I wish Austin talked and reacted more than he did though. It is his show.

As I said this wasn't going to stick

Lana denied Meltzer's report on Twitter just a few moments ago. Don't expect this to stand it has been said publicly and privately to me in various forms that top stars are plan to ignore it and one top star, in particular, has already threatened legal action.

I was really tight with Casey. I am a mix of being numb and being pretty accepting of it all. Had issues with his colon and intestines, in and out of hospital throughout his life and with a particularly terrible 18-24 months. He was way more smart and savvy about the general Pro Wrestling business than he publicly let on or was interesting in sharing. He just really liked Women's Wrestling with Trish and Lita being some of the first Wrestling he saw. He got a lot of people booked on influential indies and helped get a number of wrestlers signed. He had a lot of offers for various jobs or opportunities in Pro Wrestling and I know of one big offer to buy his website. But his health sadly precluded him from taking those. Really sad and unfair all in all.

Me too. Tony said he and others were working on bringing Tenay to Double Or Nothing and the subsequent Dynamite which were both in Vegas. But then COVID hit. In the other 2020, Mike may have been coaxed back too.

Big E said this two weeks ago and the circumstances since have matched. He wrestles Sheamus at Payback - a strong setup opponent:

Mauro would shout over and cut over him as Mauro did with Beth and Nigel. I thought NXT was a pretty good course correction on the dull pre-Takeover shows. Wish there was a stronger babyface/heel delineation on the top of the card. Too many tweeners, shades of grey and nothing and no one to really root for.
-
Letting fans attend again might mean the end of the super marathon behind closed doors AEW Dark shows. I hope they are.

On The Thread Killer's "other problem" we also don't know how extensive Arn's non-disclosure agreement was. It has been publicly reported it was very extensive and was given a lengthy non-compete. I don't think he'll ever give the real dirt or insight about the company at management level or Vince's true thoughts and decision making.

Not Corporate in the slightest. Says non-PC things and is frankly a super eccentric weirdo. Rip likes to test people's attitude and resiliency early on and before a trainee gets to know him or realise once you pass that "test" he's your best friend and his process actually works. NXT is the opposite end to the scale too Corporate and a positivity cult to offer even constructive criticism.

Jericho absolutely did. He needs to cut down on the drinking and whatever else he does. But his defence and the roster's defence in regards to this episode which I thought was really meh. They were wrestling outdoors in the Florida heat. Several wrestlers on Twitter made reference to it over the last few weeks.

WWE TV 08/10 - 08/16 Rollins is basically HHH's heir to the throne, isn't he?

Some 1998 Edge thing but taller. Vague and broody. On X-Pac's podcast, Priest implied/intimated he was given specific instructions not to border on anything that Roman Reigns does. So he's the nocturnal, nightclub version I guess. -
WWE TV 08/03 - 08/09 Giannis is a future back to back MVP

A good post DMJ. This time two weeks Summerslam will be over or almost over. As you've said WWE has a lot to do and a major coherence problem. ALSO, they will quickly have to decide whether Summerslam will take place on a beach in front of fans in Atlantic City pretty pronto even if they let fans in for free. The company is a failing, indecisive mess currently even cutting them a lot of slack due to COVID conditions. -

I know this is PWO (not a DIG like what you like) and here isn't not the best to advocate for Cole's act and star-power. But I thought this was Cole's version of the Mickie James "Piggie James" angle as it amplified his worst "faults" for zero return against a virtual unknown outsider. -
10-15 years ago people really believed that we were in a “post-racial” society where only slack-jawed bigots harboured racial, gender, or sexual biases, so it would be hilarious if they said offensive things because they so obviously didn’t actually believe it.
