He's a really nice guy and extremely liked by the roster and management. Was signed a while ago but had a number of setbacks due to concussion issues. Being over with the Full Sail crowd/likened to Mojo Rawley is a bit of a kiss of death main roster wise. But he's great relative to what he is.

I never actually said that though. Holy straw man. This thread is above MLW not CMLL. Rush was kicking the rope in frustration as he couldn't engage the fans he was performing in front of. Gringo Loco didn't have that issue on the same episode. You are just excuse making.

WWE T.V 1/21 - 1/27. The last gasp to the Royal Rumble
rovert replied to Captain Redneck's topic in WWE
Couldn't believe the hysteria over Ronda today. She genuinely loves Pro Wrestling but it was always going to be a chapter in her life and not her life. I've a lot of mutual friends with Ronda. While Ronda wants to be a mother in her lifetime motherhood after Wrestlemania is a more Travis Browne thing than Ronda's. And a promise to him. Ronda isn't a normal person - read her autobiography and watch her Youtube channel. She's a mix between Mike Tyson and Britney Spears. Her life is run by her husband, mother, her management team and WWE. Not really her. -
I don't watch Lucha beyond parachuting in once in a while per year. But I don't get Rush either. Obviously he has charisma and marketable build. Always seems like people are afraid for speak truthfully about him as he's a thing on Twitter. He seem lost in the Strickland match. Watched both his MLW and ROH matches this week. Don't understand the bidding war in ring wise. Get business, demographic and politics reasons for it. If he doesn't got over in ROH I see people blaming everything other than him.

SHIMMER HERstory: A SHIMMER retrospective podcast
rovert replied to Grimmas's topic in Publications and Podcasts
I wish there was a wrestler or general entertainment comparison. Most involve drugs but no drugs were involved here. Irish indie Wrestling started in 2002. Becky was like the only female anyone knew that was publicly into Wrestling. If she went into to town someone would ask her and at family functions her granny probably asked her if she was still "doing the Wrestling". She couldn't start an account on whatever on whatever early social media platform there was at the time given Pro Wrestling dork interest in her. It is a truly unique story. -
Sean doesn't report bullshit and subsequent events/reports have proven this.

SHIMMER HERstory: A SHIMMER retrospective podcast
rovert replied to Grimmas's topic in Publications and Podcasts
It wasn't a concussion situation. She suffered eye/nerve damage which trust me it was still really bad especially suffering it in Germany far away from home but she would have been good to go to wrestle again after 6-9 months. The real truth was that Becky's mother was dead set against her Wrestling from the beginning. Becky scored really high in her exams and gained entry in the first or second College in Ireland depending on what you value. And she developed massive anxiety issues and was just locked in her own head for seven years. Refer to the most recent WWE Chronicle special on the WWE Network. It is a "shame" she still carries. The ins and outs of it all is worthy of a essay long post. But the kindest of people on the local scene tried and tried to build her confidence to little effect. As did the biggest and best international/WWE names. Becky went to grief consulting to try to settle her feelings about Pro Wrestling it was that acute. I've never known some locked in their own head as her. Personally gave up hope of a comeback a few months before she showed up at the Fight Factory in Bray with her hair down and a filled out adult frame introducing herself as Rebecca and just doing drills. A friend of mine was in that class and he just said to me before bedtime that "a new girl started and she was really good" and he knew about Rebecca Knox! The next day Becky's return spread all over the internet. SHIMMER wise Prazak always knew what he had in Becky in talking to surrounding people. Deliberately kept Becky separate from Melissa and Mercedes for example. Also APPARENTLY early pressing of DVDs referred to Becky as the female CM Punk whom Dave came up with IWA Mid South and stuff. Prazak recently on Twitter said he'd release an unreleased Becky promo if she headlines Wrestlemania. -
It is a clash for sure. I will say also there's a lot of rumor and conjecture about JR's participation in AEW Meltzer has lightly alluded to it. But so the story goes Jim thought he would have more control over AEW than he's being offered.

Jim Ross, Excalibur and Alex Marvez

The Observer has reported that's no longer the case. It will/should be in prime time though.

Unless something substantial changes AEW will land on TBS.

Britt seems happy. Had ROH work lined up and if she waited things out she would have been signed to NXT around MYC III. She also has a doctorate underneath her. Yet she signed on the bottom line with AEW without hesitation. It is hard to apply in a Wrestling context. But the point person for the female AEW roster to another woman at least. Even a bad or poorly applied equal pay promise is further than ROH, IMPACT, NXT or WWE has offered.
-
On the pay and conditions & equal pay. Hold fire until they sign their TV deal and they develop an actual pay structure.

Braun needs to move to another territory for sure. Really interested where he lands on the Wrestlemania card.

It is either this or watching Being The Elite.

Eagles is the female wrestler of the decade for me outside of Japan at least. Held back by knee injuries, being a female Australian wrestler at a time when promotions wouldn't fly women in, her stuff in Australia not really making tape and having kids early. But her run in SHIMMER and as their Champion is truly standout stuff. Having high level matches with a huge range of opponents and a tremendous heel. Ask any female Wrestler about Eagles, she's the GOAT really. Deonna hates all her matches and is very self-critical typically

In charge is a bit extreme. He has never done anything for weekly TV. Just one off hot shot type shows. I came here to post a similar thing. The randomness of WAR tag teams is a running reference on the Between The Sheets podcast, the Segunda Caida podcast 10 years ago as well as that blog and the old DVDR board. I've had people tell me that Tony is an ex-DVDR poster.
-
It was very unproduced for a Heyman promo for sure.

Less than 24 hours after my previous post in this thread Meltzer admitted Omega to WWE isn't happening.
-
I don't think they are marketing towards Grimmas or a lot of people here even. And I am not sure if Grimmas would even admit to liking it as it would give up ground to me. BTE did explain the IRL business and contract state of play in a comedic manner. Going my personal knowledge I stated that the idea the three companies working together was very wishful thinking. But the issue with Tony Kahn is that he has no diplomacy skills/tact. His is to basically just ambush. NJPW and ROH are both traditional companies who to know things before they are announced. Wait for more personal profiles but from what I've heard from people who have interacted with him he's an entitled rich kid. One person who has been involved in Wrestling for 20 years or so compared AEW to a situation where Eric Bischoff was Ted Turner's son. Yep. And at best AEW expects to have TV contract around June time and probably start their show in the Fall. So it is pointless to do anything with them yet.
-
Omega hates WWE and would hate working there. Hates the ring style and how artless of an operation it can be. Him going would shock me more than anything in Pro Wrestling. Also: Will eat humble pie if he goes to WWE but in the meantime, I suggest not to get taken in.
-
Still can't believe how the last thread went. The latest Being The Elite explains most of what you need to know. It is 24 minutes long but it is recapping the events of WrestleKingdom, the beginnings of AEW and tying up BTE storylines. Check it out or continue to be overly abrasive I guess:
