  1. The issue with that would jobbing that person. Using one of the other singles matches tonight as qualifier match was discussed. Adam Cole being the frontrunner in that scenario as he can retain his heat on a loss. Jobbing Keith Lee or Riddle already would be a bad idea. Having a one night return of Drew Galloway (who won the title in Brooklyn last year) or Bobby Roode was also kicked about too. Lars was discussed too. With him strong-arming his way into the main event somehow. Gargano and Ciampa even briefly working together to take Lars would be a fun deal. But I guess they want to protect Lars for something bigger down the road. Like I said Black's injury put NXT Creative in a bind. After four and half years of doing NXT Takeovers NXT's taping schedule was bound to throw up a situation like this. However, with the talent depth NXT has, you'd think a substitution for Black should be really easy.
  2. Black's injury really put the Title match in a corner creatively. NXT didn't want to do another Gargano/Ciampa singles match. Black was going to be the loser of the fall tonight. It is too soon for Ciampa to lose the title and too early for Gargano to win the title with the long-range story they are telling. Last Man Standing is a way for Gargano not to do a clean job. A Cage match was also muted as the stipulation. Obviously, the card will be great.
  3. On the topic of Wrestlers being on the outside looking in Balor doesn't seem like the happiest camper: With Dean Ambrose back Balor falls one more slot down the card.
  4. He was definitely in the Randy Orton category of being pushed because he's being pushed. Albeit with a much worse feud win/loss percentage. That seemed to end after he returned from having viral meningitis before the TLC PPV. It seems like he got heat for spreading it to Roman Reigns and other WWE people and not dealing with it properly. But a lot of long WWE careers have real fallow periods look at Sheamus or Chris Jericho for example. Sometimes you are just on the backburner. What happens post-Summerslam will be interesting. As Raw has so many babyfaces and relatively few heels. Wyatt could slide back into the top mix really quickly.
  5. Not a banner week for Meltzer. But he NAILED it last month about Hogan - not reading the room in his WWE locker room apology - delivering a don't get caught message rather than true contrition, his narcissism, out of touchness etc.
  6. Taynara has incredible facial expressions and charisma. Alexa Bliss tier and beyond. Her Twitter retweets the dorky faces she pulls. The NXT TV episode a while back where she joined The Undisputed Era for a night showed her potential.
  7. The last two pages covered most of everything. Basically, it is a real shame. As already said social media creates so much noise and a haven for bad actors. Meltzer has been the loudest voice for worker's rights and the first one to say how phoney all of the WWE Women's Evolution stuff has been mainly because the women still don't get paid what they're worth and still get disrespected by the writing and booking. Poor Peyton has been unnecessarily criticised for her looks since she was signed with NXT. Instagram trolls relentlessly attack her teeth and forehead. Which along with not being fluent in Meltzer speak may have lead to her firing off a hot-headed response.
  8. It is absolutely complicated but I could see it getting dicey for him if someone put some of his Twitter Likes side by side with Orton hazing a Jewish writer with something vaguely anti-semitic or if just a bunch of Jewish writers came forward about Orton.
  9. Orton's Twitter Likes often get commented upon for being very Christian Conservative and/or Alt Right. Optics wise that won't curry favour with a lot of people.
  10. You've done this schtick twice now: Can you please knock it off it off as it isn't funny and doesn't contribute to the discussion. Wrestlers and Wrestling people interact with me and other fans on social media. Lots follow the ProWrestlingOnly Twitter for example. Some more than others but isn't uncommon and nothing to get passive aggressive or upset about. Join the rest of us in 2018, Herodes.
  11. WWE is very more and more precious about the stock price every time it goes up so I am interested to see how this pans out. About a month ago a bunch of employees signed extra agreements about basically agreeing not to discuss certain topics in the hallways, canteen etc. Someone should have copies of Ring of Hell sent to WWE's sponsors and watch the World burn.
  12. He mutes those give him a hard time and legit questions but rushes to answer and quote tweet Bischoff/Russo truthers with 5 followers. Several attempts have been made on his own forum to have a Q&A thread with more knowledgeable fans - his subscribers and he rapidly loses interest each and every time.
  13. Honestly, don't know. But it is bad bad. Probably go down as new Amazing Red in terms of talent/upside: injury proneness/luck. Too popular among talent and fans to coldly, quietly release or throw her in the dumpster behind the Performance Center so to speak like they would in the Coach Bill Demott era when his training would maim some poor dude. WWE in the last year did right by Paige even if the finger hovered of the release button a good few times.
  14. "Get Inoki on the phone"
  15. Casey Michael on Twitter yesterday said that situation is much worse than what's public. WWE is/was trying to put a more positive spin on that situation than is reality.
  16. SHIMMER's library will be available soon via a subscription service. This site is big on the entire/whole history of Wrestling being freely available to be analyzed so that is something to get actually excited about. A lot of the matches are on par with most of everything that was going on in the 00s/10s. There are SO many talented female wrestlers who came along 5-15 years too early who deserved better and better than Johnny Ace's swimsuit catalogue model fetish. Made me a believer in that US/Western Women's Wrestling doesn't need a curve. And that it is okay to say not every Women's match is "decent", "fun" or "a good effort by both".
  17. Meltzer in the same issue has major praise for the Viper vs Kay Lee Ray vs Bea Priestly World of Sport match from last weekend on ITV TV over here. Two Scottish women and an English/New Zealander. He put over Tessa Blanchard vs Allie Slammiversary match big too. An American versus a Canadian. I am a big advocate for Women's Wrestling and the first to criticise Meltzer. Personally, I fell into being so as I saw the talent coming up and the potential. But on the US indies there IS a curve and a culture of non-criticism. I know several people who wrote about/reviewed Women's Wrestling on a serious basis/applied similar standards to those matches as they would men's matches. Only to face harassment online and in person from wrestlers and their obsessive fans. A lot of female wrestlers will tell you privately there is/was a curve when it comes to women's Wrestling. I've had a fair few friends of mine get signed the past few years and they are thankful they don't have to wrestle certain popular indie wrestlers anymore.
  18. The spilt is 16 signed talents (12 NXT/4 NXT UK) and 16 unsigned talents. Was told the plan last week was 2 "current roster stars" and 2 "outsiders" in the semifinals with little elaboration. I thought that more or less spelt out NXT's Deonna Purrazzo and Io Shirai and the "outsiders" of Meiko Satamura and NXT UK's Toni Storm. Out of the whole MYC field, I think Toni and Io are the only two wrestlers that could beat Meiko and not have the crowd shit on it or her opponent. Toni Storm is probably winning the NXT UK title so she may not win here. WWE thought's on having two Joshis win back to back years will determine whether Io wins MYC II obviously. Io winning or not Kairi vs Io at the NXT Wrestlemania weekend Takeover is my money match. So why not have Io win then? After stumbling upon her initial matches on Youtube for me this is my moment of truth when it comes to Deonna Purrazzo. I’ve long lost perspective and become paranoid a tad about all the nice things people say about her, how WWE views her or certain people there do. But I’d then go on and verify those things with other people only to find out they were true. I also think to a degree a lot of people on social media like her or like her MYC chance just because Casey Michael and myself have talked up her up so hard for years basically. I do have confidence she can deliver at a very high level after watching her matches Madison Eagles and Momo Watanabe this year. Don’t be surprised if she wins the thing as Triple H is high on her. Personally, I think it would be kind of a smart move. As she is currently more of a worker type than a sports entertainer. MYC would be something to hang her hat on until she figures the personality side of her game out. Personally, will be happy if she has one strong match and gets over. And overcomes the possible prejudice that doing so much WWE enhancement work might have caused.
  19. I haven't asked why Savoy wasn't used for MYC II. But I should. Savoy had one of the crueller twists of fate in modern Wrestling. Her NXT tryout in September 2016 was basically a walkover. She was going to get signed. Then she completely tore her ACL on her first day at the tryout. I assume WWE wasn't impressed with her coming into MYC last year still peg-legged in a heavy knee brace risking further injury after begging her doctor to clear her. Am a super big fan of a healthy Nicole great wrestler, look and charisma. Someone I think could really catch on. ROH should sign her as she's more "ROH" than the most/all of the WOH roster. Ember will tell you she was completely blackballed from Texas Wrestling at one stage. She's now just really chatty and nice rather someone who would just talk a lot of shit.
  20. I dunno what Jordynne's relationship is with WWE. But she is still recovering from a very bad rep she created for herself when she first broke into indie Wrestling. She was a brat basically. Part of the reason why some promotions specially SHIMMER Wrestling doesn't book her. I dunno what it is about young Texas wrestlers but Athena/Ember Moon, ACH and Sammy Guerrera found themselves in similar positions in the past.
  21. Going by shoot interviews and stuff the issue with Zack from the Triple H/William Regal side of the company was that he was a dork who looked like he couldn't win a fight IRL. Chelsea Green never really watched wrestling growing up. Only liked Trish and Kelly Kelly. And applied to Lance Storm's school on a whim in College. So she doesn't have that lifelong fan grounding and understanding of the "biz" and her hot mess character is based on her real-life personality. Her stint with IMPACT didn't end amicably at all. You have to be next level savvy with WWE talent relations these days. Can only assume a fair amount of why she hasn't been signed yet is on her.
  22. Saying that. Things were trending for Chelsea being an alternate in the MYC. Paying the cost on who she dates and other politics.
  23. It does. The alternate list will be very strong. Poor Britt Baker just missed the cut. Will be the #1 alternate. Alternate wise WWE has to find replacements for three dropouts: Chelsea Green (Visa Issues), Kylie Rae (collarbone injury) and Crystal from Philippines (a mystery). Nicole Savoy, Jordynne Grace, Shazza McKenzie or Madison Eagles are my most notable exclusions. Saying that there are no adject wastes of space like there was last year.
  24. There was an MYC qualifier match at the last NXT taping which WWE hasn't posted on their Youtube yet.
  25. Was very early on Karen. A lot of people who play close attention thought she would be signed straight out of training school two years ago or so as WWE were on a strong Chinese recruitment kick at the time. On Twitter, I said she's a mix between a Little Miss Bossy Boots x Chris Candido. Technically sound and inherently funny in her body language. Saying that her trainer Damien Adams is preparing like Karen will get signed and is regrouping after his other trainee Deonna Purrazzo got signed by taking on more female students. Zeuxis should have been in the first MYC. Isla Dawn remains very sloppy and Lacey Lane is very athletic with a unique look but extremely green.
