1. Besides the the great many troubling aspects about David. The dude is SO annoying his outlook on Wrestling is like a smark's from 10 years ago or a caller to the LAW radio show.
2. PWInsider confirms that Vince Russo is on the TNA payroll working as a consultant. John Gaburick ultimately signs off on scripts though.
3. Drag Is Raw: Wrestlers, Queens And Gender As Performance Art: http://n.pr/1jKgxle Should I be watching RuPaul's Drag Race?
4. Looking forward to hearing more from Steve.
5. Heyman's account of being "caught" listening into the Raw conference call is the highlight of Part 2 of Austin's podcast.
6. Not an North American but from what I have heard ESPN is relatively low paying and a poor work environment. Is that true?
7. And Heyman is a MAJOR True Detective fan. Heyman's impressions of old timers are really silly and funny.
8. Austin said Paul Heyman is his Tuesday guest.
9. Also Miz should not claim superiority over Disco Inferno.
10. edit
11. Haven't re-watched it yet. First time around was after a lot of drinks and 3.30am or whatever in the morning cheering on Bryan - an immensely enjoyable time. What struck me this week is that Meltzer had it at ****1/2 and Wade Keller a star less at ***1/2.
12. Eric Young's road to the title! Every IMPACT and PPV match by Eric in the last two years:
13. His baggage is endless muscle tears and hernias.
14. Another random/sad thing to consider is this is apparently Vickie's last week with WWE. Warrior's death has to bring back horrible Eddie memories.
15. The picture could have been touched up, Bix.
16. I know pointing out Wrestlers who are and aren't on PEDs can be a fools game but it is interesting that a Daniel Bryan type is the new Champion while this happened. I hope Scott Hall has people near him. I would be concerned about his sobriety in the come down from weekend before Warrior passed away. Other wrestlers passing away seemed to be a trigger for him to drink in years past as he had such self loathing he would always wish it was him instead.
17. WWE can afford to let their contracts run out rather that release them and take a possible PR hit.
18. I blurted out a "wow" when Devitt shook Taguchi's hand: Babyface Devitt seems like a lifetime ago not a year ago.
19. They seemly wait until contracts run out now. Better for PR I guess.
20. Jeff Jarrett will be on John Arezzi's radio show and Mike Tenay's overnight sports radio show in LA to discuss GLOBAL FORCE WRESTLING. What a dated name. No TV deal, key talent or first show was announced so what an announcement. Awful logo, a website that went down and proof reading issues in their press release and their Twitter header - they place misspelt the link to their website in it.
21. There's been a talking point kicking around that Indy wrestling has been homogenised by workers not studying tape as deeply as before. If you following any of the indy guys on Twitter they seem to only watch the shows they appear on and WWE. I get the impression there are very few of the Chris Hero ilk these days. You don't see much of the old tricks being pulled out of the moth balls instead it is the same redundant match done over and over up and down cards. Alan has his own story to tell on it but he wrote on Twitter today about he spoke to Timothy Thatcher after his great and relatively unique match with Drew Gulak. Alan4L said Thatcher's eyes lit up when Alan mentioned UWFI. It is an anecdote but I think it has some value.
22. The match quality and booking/formatting of their shows is notoriously bad. They do a lot of chest thumping about how well PWS does and I don't doubt it does do well BUT what they never mention that they paper New Jersey like crazy. Pat always mentions that "this Saturday's show will have a GUARANTEED full house."
23. If you are a big Timothy Thatcher fan I couldn't recommend his British Rounds match last night with Drew Gulak from the Wrestling Odyssey show here enough: http://www.wwnlive.com/event-awo-04-04-14.html A beautiful match on an otherwise flat card and with a mind bogglingly booked main event. The main event was called a Sprint - a 20 minute iron match essentially. Gabe seemed not to want to give anyway the billed singles match between AR Fox vs Chris Hero so he had added Tony Nese to make a 3 way 20 minute iron match which even the poor announcer Lenny Leonard couldn't keep the score straight.
24. I need to get on this. Nice to see Johnny P knocking around.
25. Tweeting that link to Steve Austin brought me so much joy. For those who don't know Austin has a child fascination with that incident on his podcast.
