Tony seems to believe that Swole broke their agreement of Swole being allowed to state publicly her leaving AEW was her choice when privately that wasn't the case. And Tony likely fully believes her work was substandard.

I do agree but in addition, you can't read Lio's statement without seeing he got TOLD some real truths about Swole. Note the African American talent there the longest sided with Tony's statement as they know Swole's history in AEW. Lio quitting would have been a disaster obviously. I am glad that was rectified. For Lio's peace of mind and history he should be reassured that the new boss isn't the same as old.

I thought from the beginning of the tournament Ruby would win. A babyface to contrast a heel having the other Women's title. Ruby can have fast and pacey TV-style matches and is a name. I expect Jade's leg to still be in bad shape, for it to buckle, Ruby capitalises and slays a giant. Mark Sterling has something to gripe about - Jade not being 100%. And that booking protects Jade in a job. I think Mercedes is more for Thunder Rosa. Thunder Rosa and Mercedes Martinez had a war at Warrior Wrestling two weeks ago and they will likely put that on TV to build Thunder Rosa on her road to finally beating Britt Baker at AEW Revolution. AEW Revolution is close to the year anniversary of Thunder Rosa's unsanctioned win over Britt.

Expect Meltzer etc to say that Tony attempted to do the decent thing and let her walk away with dignity by letting her state publicly it was her decision. But she betrayed that courtesy in his eyes which is why he tweeted out what he did. He vented to other people before he tweeted about how much he was let down and how he went out of his way to protect her. It wasn't a "coke" or trigger temper thing by all accounts. He's just extremely thin-skinned when it comes to criticism and couldn't let it go. The actual truth is dissatisfaction with Swole's work and attitude internally was pretty widespread and that is why she was let go. But fans online will think that is a "WWE spreading rumours about Keith Lee" type thing. A lot of Swole fans think she's a good to great in-ring worker so there's no reasoning with them. Tweeting about it was the dumbest decision as Swole's interview would have been forgotten after the NYE fireworks and the weekend. Now he has to field some very difficult criticisms the week of the TBS move.

I think the "no-cut clause" issue is a tad overstated importance wise in Kevin's case. IF Owens gets cut 90 days of his contract is at least $500,000. And unlike Strowman AEW will take him.

One thing worth noting is that this is Jeff's first Christmas without his father. Who passed away in April. They were extremely close. And raised Matt and Jeff after his mother passed away from brain Cancer when he was 9 years old. It is more than understandable that he returned to old coping habits if that is what happened.
