Wrestling New Years Resolutions <<2014 thread - No more resolutions here>>

Yeah, I'm planning on sitting down to watch all his stuff with Rush sometime soon. After that I plan to search for whatever fountain of youth or whatever voodoo spell or whatever that Casas uses. I'd be excited to be able to touch my toes when I'm his age, let alone do the shit he does night in and night out. -
Who will turn out to be Sting in this scenario? I gotta think he turns on the Niners to go with his hometown.
-
I think it's cool that he's wrestling in coveralls. I always see old guys wearing coveralls and I'm all like, "Man, that dude has shit figured out." I waste so much time picking out a shirt and some pants to wear every day.

Or you could go all Stone Cold and ask them about the John Stossel incident.

I've never been a subscriber, so I honestly ask: why would anyone subscribe at this point? Pretty much every piece of news is all over the internet minutes after it's posted. From all accounts, the podcast is pretty terrible. Is it the obits? Is there something worthwhile that I just don't know about that you get with a sub?

99% of a good interview is getting the person you're interviewing to be comfortable with you. I feel like you got that in a short interview with Ted, there. He seemed to like your line of questions. That's the thing the shoot interview guys never get. You can ask the hard questions. You just have to butter the subject up a bit before you let loose with them. Once they are comfortable and feel like you're "on their side", they'll open up. You really did a great job with that short interview, though.

Today on Jeopardy, there was a category called "Stone Cold Jane Austen". Ha!
-
I laugh like a fucking idiot every single goddam time I read "Bork Laser". People at work think I'm crazy.

I feel like he's still over, but the crowd has cooled on his push (if that makes sense). I still think if he won the title (for real) or slapped HHH in the Yes Lock or something, the crowd would lose their shit.

Where does the delayed vertical suplex (a la Davey Boy) fit into all of this?

I want to get to more live shows too. IWA Mid South has started up again right over the river. We keep going to my in-laws on weekends they have shows. Gotta stop doing that. The couple of OVW shows I've been to have been really fun. I need to get my ass in gear on the Lucha set. I'm really looking forward to Portland. Don't want to hold that up. I want to catch up on more current-ish stuff that's not WWE. It's all sitting right there on my computer begging me to watch it. I try. I really do. Also, Greg Valentine is going to be at a flea market here this week. I neeeeed to get to that. -
Woo, yeah. Regal/Cesaro was some gooood stuff. I got a little worried that the end was going to turn into "I love you. I'm sorry.", but luckily it didn't. I love that Regal has had all these matches based on fairly subtle things like limbwork and working holds and the NXT crowd goes nuts for it.

I'm curious about your pick of Cena over GSP for box office draw. Not saying it's wrong or anything, just wondering about the rationale behind it.

Not an actual gift, per se, but a nice treat... As my 2-year old daughter was going to bed on Monday, she came to tell me goodnight. I was watching Raw. She watched for a few seconds, then said, "Oh! We should go see that some time!" Taking her to a show would be mind-blowing for me.

Something I hear at work out of the younger people (early-20's): "How am I supposed to know that? It happened before I was born!" I mean, this is something I hear a LOT. Bugs the shit out of me. I'm fine with people liking whatever they want to like. If you want to be up on the latest stuff and aren't really interested in things from the past, that's great. Just don't act like you can be ignorant of anything that happened before the year you were born.

I always liked Rip, but seriously, has he ever drawn a dime in his life to be able to say with any authority what's good for business? Maybe part of is that Rip was never really utilized in a major promotion, but with WCW giving at least minor pushes to the likes of Firebreaker Chip and Joe Gomez, Rip probably could have gone places if he had anything at all. Am I being too harsh? Again, I actually liked what I saw of Rip. Rip has done quite a bit of training in OVW. Think he had a hand in some of the bigger guys that wen through there. He's really cool to talk to about wrestling. Has a photographic memory for dates and stuff. His opinion on wrestling would really gel with people around here.

Watts was a division I college quarterback wasn't he? Hell, Howard Schnellenberger made him his starter at Louisville. He knows a thing or two about quarterbacks.
-
Is Shawn Michaels married? How the hell does his wife let him leave the house dressed like that? He's wearing fucking rain boots for fuck's sake.
-
Ha! I thought cowboy hats was questioning me. Misunderstandings all around.
-
She thought he was Billy Ripken? (Anyone remember that?)
-
Do any of you all (Dylan? Kris Z?) have any big write-ups on Londos? I knew he was a big deal and all, but I'm (personally) kind of surprised to see him so high. Not at all saying he shouldn't be, I just haven't had any exposure to his career.
-
I'd put him above UT at that time. He really made Taker better with their feud. Him and Austin were neck and neck for me. Same with Rock really. I dug the Rock character at the start, but it wore on me after a while. I have a hard time comparing he and Michaels. Apples and oranges to me.

A lot of that is probably reverence to his dad. Man, so Randy is coasting on people's opinion of his Grandpa?
