  1. I know you've got a lot on your plate with these sets, but you really shouldn't sleep on Texas. Soooooo much great stuff on that set. And it's not just Von Erich/Freebirds stuff, either. The stuff near the end of the decade with Eric Embry was a revelation to me.

I would like to spend a week with Show and Henry. I'd talk shit to anyone and everyone I came into contact with. None of them would say a word.

    Jaaawn Cena

That's true. I just think it's pretty much a given that most wrestling fans, when posed with the question "Who had more great main events? Bret Hart or John Cena?", the overwhelming response would be Hart. I think people have come around on the whole "Cena can't wrestle" thing, but he still doesn't get the credit he's due for his work.

    Jaaawn Cena

Alright, here's what I can come up with as far as pimped big matches for Cena... John Cena vs. Edge (TLC) (Unforgiven 9/17/06) John Cena vs. Umaga (Rumble 1/28/07) John Cena vs. Shawn Michaels (WM 4/1/07) John Cena vs. HBK (RAW 4/23/07) John Cena vs. HBK vs. Edge vs. Randy Orton (Backlash 4/29/07) John Cena vs. Bobby Lashley (GAB 7/22/07) John Cena vs. Randy Orton (Summerslam 8/26/07) Randy Orton vs. John Cena (No Way Out 2/17/08) John Cena vs. Chris Jericho (Armageddon 12/14/08) John Cena vs. Randy Orton (I Quit Match) (PPV 9/13/09) John Cena vs. Randy Orton (Ironman Match) (PPV 10/25/09) Batista vs. John Cena (Mania 3/28/10) CM Punk vs. John Cena (MITB 7/17/11) CM Punk vs. John Cena (SSlam 8/15/11) John Cena vs. Alberto Del Rio (Last Man Standing) (Vengeance 10/23/11) John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar (Extreme Rules 4/29/12) John Cena vs. CM Punk (Raw 2/25/13) John Cena vs. Daniel Bryan (Summerslam 8/18/13) There may be more I'm missing. Pretty much went with GH's MOTYC Comps. Stuff that made it on there was pretty widely pimped at the time.
  8. I actively dislike Del Rio, but that match was awesome. They really worked a lot into their time. I really think we'd be talking about that match more on a normal show. It wasn't disappointing, it's just getting overshadowed.

    Jaaawn Cena

I think we all agree that Cena has been in waaaaay too many great matches to be considered a shitty wrestler. But this quote from Dylan... ...should really be discussed further. I definitely agree with that statement. I'm wondering where we think he ranks against all promotions, and in particular, where he ranks against other WWE/F guys. I mean, his run on top has been way longer than Austin and Rock's. I guess about as long as Hogan's. Longer than Hart and HBK, too. Bruno was on top longer, but (I'm guessing) doesn't have the quality matches Cena has had. He's amassed a pretty long list of really good/great matches in his time on top. All of them have pretty much been main events, too. What I'm getting at, is how does he stack up in terms of match quality with his peers as "big match" guys?
  10. We talking Jack and Jerry or Mark and Jay here?

That made all the babyfaces up there look like the biggest pussies. Oh, I might get in trouble if I interfere. I'm not advocating that every guy needs to be Stone Cold or anything. They just need someone to show some balls. At least have someone try but get cut off by the heel they're feuding with. Something.
  12. Okay. Pairing Ricardo with RVD has to be some kind of little inside joke, right?
  13. Bottom line: As long as Bryan is standing tall with the WWE title some time in the near future (Rumble? Mania?), the stuff last night will all be worth it. I mean, really, we all knew it was coming. If it is part of a bigger plan, then I'm glad they stuck to it and didn't do their usual thing of panicking and changing direction when people catch on to their plans.
  14. I find this hard to believe when Bryan just pinned Cena as cleanly as anyone has pinned him in about a thousand years. I think he means in the storyline.
  15. The end will turn a lot of people off, but this show rocked. The main, Punk/Brock and Del Rio/Christian were all very, very good and the other stuff was inoffensive (the Kane/Wyatt thing didn't bother me that much). Really good PPV. Hot crowd, and it actually had a really big show feel to it. Wasn't there supposed to be a tag title match?
  16. If they can keep it to Orton/Bryan with Triple H in more of a mentor role, it'd be ok. I just hope Shawn Michaels doesn't get involved.
  17. Maybe at least chase until Rumble and get a showcase match at Mania. I kinda thought this would happen. I'm not too down on it yet. At least Bryan is going to still be involved in the major storyline. Not some shit where he's champ, but the McMahon drama is the "real" main event or something.
  18. Man, Triple H was hanging around too long on the celebration. I had a bad feeling that was about to happen. At least H wasn't annoying in the match itself.
  19. Damn. Has anyone gained more with three losses in a year than Punk has? Loses to Rock at Rumble, UT at Mania, and now this and comes out looking like the toughest guy in the promotion. Loved Brock's redwood falling sell of the GTS.
  20. No way, Joey Styles needs to JBL his ass As long as he says, "Get your damn hands off her!", then I'm ok with it.
  21. This Ryback shit needs to end with Crispin Glover punching him.
  22. My wife and I were just having a discussion about that. Hard look to pull off. Liked Brie's reversal of the sharpshooter into the turnbuckle. Also, I love that one of the Funkadactyls fights without dropping her pom poms.
  23. Shiiiiit! Would've liked to see Christian win, but that was a hell of a match. That finishing stretch was great. Man, I thought that post-match speech was going to lead to Rey coming back.
  24. I don't know if I'd take it that far, but it was bad. I figured it'd be more angle than match. I just wish Wyatt would've played it more vicious. He needs to be more dangerous than his lackeys. Like, there's these big scary dudes, but you really don't want to mess with the boss.
  25. That 70's B-movie open was fucking great!
