I think people who do a certain job are always going to have a different opinion on who's good than those who don't do the job. I'm a tv news photographer. Within my newsroom, there are varying opinions on how good certain photographers are. Their fellow photographers are going to be more impressed with editing tricks or cool shots. Reporters are concerned with how easy it is to get along with them or how they contribute to the forming of a story. Producers are happy if they get their story in on-time with no mistakes. We have guys who producers love, reporters hate, and their fellow photogs think are great. Like many people have mentioned, wrestlers are going to look at different things than us. I love seeing Vader beat the holy hell out of someone. That's probably not so great if you're his opponent. Lots of guys probably overrate dudes who did whatever they were told in the ring. I'd think someone was pretty awesome if they always went along with my "great" ideas. There are certain guys who do my job that might not impress you if you watched their stuff. I may be in awe of how fast they edit or how they sequence shots or something like that. I kinda think Angle is that way. There's probably something he does that other wrestlers wish they could do or wish they could do better. It may not mean he's the complete package on working, but he still impresses them.

Ceasaro working over Titus O'Neil's midsection after Titus had eaten too much Thanksgiving food is probably the strangest "focusing on a body part" work I've ever seen.

WWE should be trying to emulate the NFL's marketing. I mean, they're pretty much bulletproof (concussion scare notwithstanding, too early to tell). Build rivalries while still maintaining a nice parity to keep things from getting boring. Stuff like that. Instead, it looks like they'd rather take their cues from TBS's original comedy lineup or some shit.

I think this is right. Right now, my newsroom is ALL about social media. Building loyalty, etc. It really sounds stupid to most of us with half a brain, but you cannot overestimate how much people are into having their tweets, facebook posts, etc. shared on television. That said, I think you could hear the eyes rolling this week on Raw when Cole announced that the Wyatt Family was trending on Twitter and wondered how that would sit with the Shield.

What is Michael Cole's fucking obsession that all pop-culture references be up-to-date. If JBL or Lawler mention anything more than a year old, he throws a fit. Really though, the commentary is just getting to the point of being un-listenable to me.

I've got quite a few dvds, but not nearly as many as you guys it seems. I have all my official (WWE, etc.) dvds in a small drawer in our guest bedroom. The rest of my stuff is in big dvd binders. Got one for lucha, one for japanese stuff, one for comps, etc. I try to keep them all together. I used to have a ton of ROH, Chikara, PWG, IWA MS official releases, but having a baby meant needing more space. Got rid of a bunch of those on ebay. Still have a few in a plastic bin in the garage. Between youtube and comps, I don't really feel the need to have a bunch of whole shows lying around.

Please tell me this ends with Funk putting a plastic bag on Flair's head!

I would love to be able to buy those yearbooks. They are amazing. I just don't have the money to do so. My wife would murder me if she found out I dropped $900 on all those things. It would be aaaaaamazing if you guys compiled the top 500 into one set. Count me in as a buy.

I'm like 95% sure that Lee Marshall is doing the player intros for the Duke/Kansas game tonight.
-
I'm hoping that was a set-up for some "traditional" Survivor Series matches.
-
God, Goldust vs. Cesaro just has to happen soon, right?
-
I totally agree with this, but Orton seems to pull out a handful of really good matches every year. He and Del Rio are both guys I can say I can't really stand much, but have found myself getting into some of their matches.

I stopped from probably 91 to right before the NWO formation. Happened to be watching that Nitro when Hall came out and got hooked again. That was the summer before I left for college. I got into tape trading, found online wrestling forums (hadn't really been on the internet before college), and got in reeeeeally deep. I would go to any show within a days drive it seemed like. Hit PPV's, Nitros, Raws, anywhere from Nashville to Chicago to St. Louis to Louisville. Wrestling friends graduated, moved away, booze, girls, etc (though I did go to some fun wrestling shows drunk and with chicks!). Stopped regularly watching around the Invasion and stayed away until Benoit's title push. Been back ever since. Oddly, what really brought me back in that time was WWE's dvd productions. I could have a three-dvd set of Flair matches in great quality? A whole dvd devoted to Benoit? Eddie Guerrero? Late 90's smark dream!

I was going to say Taylor, too. But then I remembered his really fun heel run at the end of UWF.

He helped Piper cut Adonis' hair at WMIII. He had a falling out with Jimmy Hart earlier, then helped Piper to get back at him (if I'm recalling it correctly). It just kinda grew from that. That character led to me playing with my mom's hedge clippers a lot more than a kid probably should've.

If my wife's cool with it, we could have the physical hall in my garage. Might have to share space with our Christmas decorations, though.

I don't know about his exact level of stardom, but I want to be Bill Murray when I grow up. Dude just always seems like he's having a great time.
-
Man, Angle just looks insanely unhealthy. Dude's got some problems.
-
Do wrestlers not have access to the broadcasts of their shows? How many tag partners have broken up because one guy thought his buddy hit him from behind? Couldn't they just go backstage, take a look at the footage and have a good laugh about the mix up?
-
They need to start courting Ross for a tag match at Mania.
-
Tired of that kind of hot-shot booking. That's something they could've built up over months. Instead, they give it away with no build at all. Thanks, HHH. Seriously though...what happened?
-
Just tuned in...what happened with Kane and Miz, now?
-
I'd love a breakdown of his workout. Might be dull to other people, though.

There's always this one...

I think Lesnar's become a good promo. It's funny that it took him leaving wrestling for a while to really develop a character.
