Yeah. That really let the air out of the room there.

Watching Raw and thinking: Is there anyone more over than Daniel Bryan right now? Crowd's into him from his entrance and is hot for everything he does in the match.
  3. Also, way to rock the tassels on your boots!
  4. Same here. I think I'm out of town that weekend. If the TPI actually happens, I may have to hit that up. (This was a reply to the IWAMS thing up there. Thought I quoted, but didn't.)
  5. Last night they kept referring to "the workplace invasion". It's funny that most journalists (especially broadcast) are beat over the head with being conversational. I'm sure that Cole's just doing what he's told, but you'd think he'd know better given his background.
  6. Did Backlund/Flair make tape?
  7. Funny, cause I was about to post that the one ECW show I went to definitely had over 2000. It was that show.
  8. The Dream Team vs. "The American Dream" Dusty Rhodes and The Dream Machine
  9. I have new respect for the Hulkster. By 87 or so, weren't most guys on contracts or whatever? Was there such thing as a "big pay day" for guys then?
  10. I have this weird feeling that Jericho/Fandango could turn out to be good. I haven't been high on Jericho in a while, but something intrigues me about this match. Maybe it's because I haven't seen Fandango wrestle yet.
  11. Never heard this one. What happened?
  12. So, who's the scariest person in wrestling to you? I don't mean, "This dude could kick my ass" scary. I mean, "This dude may murder me" scary. Like, I know Mark Henry could totally fuck a lot of people up, but he seems like he's a good guy. My pick is Mr. Donnie. I could totally see this scenario* where he convinces a fucked-up Tommy Rich that they should break into Lawler's house. Nothing big, just steal some shit he doesn't need to fence for drugs. They get there, and Lawler's unexpectedly home and Mr. Donnie calmly kills him while Rich freaks out. Now Donnie has Rich by the balls and it's all downhill from there. *This may be related to the fact that I recently saw Martha Marcy May Marlene. John Hawkes' character gives me a Mr. Donnie vibe.
  13. The matches tend to suggest the opposite. When I watched last years Mania Rock v Cena match I was struck by the degree to which Benoit had influenced the way Us heavyweight wrestling is put together these days. How so?
  14. Based on nothing, I am now going to assume that the dynamite for brains promo is what led to Dynamite Kid getting his name.
  15. The "working against each other" thing there is the problem. It's not necessarily writers or the idea of writers that's the problem. It's the culture of WWE. No one could really thrive and be creative working like that.
  16. I'm born/raised in US, and this is how I'd define fad, too. WWF's boom in the 80's was totally a fad at my school. I was probably 3rd or 4th grade when it really hit (87-88). By fifth grade, there were only a couple of us still watching. The 90's Austin thing came about when I was in college. By 2000, there were very few of my friends still interested in wrestling. I think guys like jdw may have a different perspective from me. I lived through that time as a kid who was a fan of WWF, etc. I had no insight into the dirtsheets or whatever. I just know that wrestling was a "cool" thing to watch/talk about for a while, then it wasn't. That's a fad, to me.
  17. It's hilarious that there was a period where real journalists (Yeah, I'm stretching that term with Stossel) were doing stories to try and "expose" that wrestling was fake. Hard hitting and informative.

Maybe Generico could work up a Councilman Jamm gimmick. "YOU GOT JAMMED!"
  19. I think Piper and Hogan's (and probably Warrior's) promos were scripted by their old buddy, cocaine.
  20. Some backwoods Southern indie needs to book that shit yesterday. The promos alone would be worth the price of admission.
  21. The newest issue of Filter magazine (Thom Yorke on the cover) has a little blurb from CM Punk on Rocket From The Crypt. He talks about the rumor that you could get into their shows free if you had a band-related tattoo.
  22. Wouldn't have mattered. Broken leg is no biggie for Hulk. He kept going after tearing every muscle in his back slamming Andre.
  23. Who's on the far right in that pic?
  24. A fatal fourway? Is this really how they're deciding who faces Undertaker? Since the streak has been a thing, is this the lamest way they've gotten into it?
  25. Nothing wrong with having that opinion. I just don't want to talk about it with them.
