Whatever the hell is going on with Daizee Haze looking unhealthy

This has a bunch of pics and info: http://realwrestlecrap.proboards.com/index...7226&page=1

Anyway, she had gone from looking different (overly muscular) to also looking sickly emaciated. Now, Chikara wrote her out with an injury angle. She used to be skinny but in a normal looking way with a naturally slight build. Now...

I hope she gets her shit together. This is bad, and also seems indicative of problems throughout the business. And whatever body image issues she may have, it probably didn't help that she photographs oddly and has never looked as pretty as she does in person in photos and videos. It's like whatever caused that was conspiring for this to happen.

That is legit scary. I don't know whether to laugh or shake my head at Chikara trying to kayfabe the whole thing.

I was thinking about that, too. The wording made me actively angry. "Please care more about her worked injury than her apparent body image issues and the related health problems."

Do we have any idea what the cause is? Illness, drugs, or mental problems? Like the others said, she's always been skinny but she looks just horrifying in those recent pics. Like a Lindsay Lohan-style sudden drop in physical appearance. She also appears to be tanned darker than Hogan now.

Yeah, I noticed that in the times I've seen her in person. She's one of those unfortunate celebrities who looks uglier through a lens, which isn't exactly a great thing for a career that is largely performed in front of cameras.

What exactly did they say? And what could they have said differently? Chikara isn't one of those promotions which does a shit-ton of shoot interviews, they generally try to kayfabe everything and keep the backstage dirt to a minimum.

Here's what appears to be a quote from an official Chikara rep:

Not wanting to feed the dirtsheets is understandable, but stuff like this just insults the viewer's intelligence. "Sure, Daizee makes Amy Winehouse look like Yokozuna, but the real cause of her health issues is a Claudio Castagnoli chokeslam. Who are you going to believe, a bunch of carnies or your lying eyes?"

Also, are they still doing chairshots to the head in Chikara? Jesus.

But like we've both said, Chikara has traditionally been pretty allergic to breaking kayfabe, for whichever reasons. Doing a worked injury angle has always been the standard wrestling go-to method of explaining away a performer's absence due to more serious medical issues, and I don't see the problem with that.

Protected or unprotected? I'm fine with the former, as long as the stunt is executed correctly in a relatively safe manner.

Of course. But none of them looked like 1991 Freddie Mercury.

It apparently came courtesy of Mima Shimoda. Japan is pretty far behind the curve when it comes to worker safety, and I'm sure that's doubly true for someone who cut her teeth in 90s AJW.

I am glad that there wasnt an "eat a sandwich" solution made here

From what I can gather, the theory that seems to be gaining the most momentum involves her having some kind of exercise obsession and following some sort of diet plan where the goal is 0% body fat.

Yeah seems like some body dysmorphia situation going on instead of anorexia as anorexics dont look like that.

To me she looks like she's both on meth and anorexic. If she has some sort of "workout addiction" she still wouldn't be that skinny unless she wasn't eating at all.

If she's following a diet designed to get 0% body fat and is working out obsessively, then it can result in her looking like that.

Not that Japanese chairs are pillows, but they're exponentially less dangerous than the standard US folding chair. Which is why Masato Tanaka was an idiot for doing the same stuff in ECW that he did in Japan.

This reminds me of Eric Stevens of ROH fame who lost a whole bunch of weight for some bodybuilding competition and made some really sad looking youtube videos. Almost seems like a epidemic in wrestling these days.

Stevens and Haze were at least members of Team Viggity.

Almonds are a gateway drug I guess.

Huh??

Peachmachine did a podcast years ago with Ed in San Antonio. He also goes to F4W conventions. He was a wrestler in Gateway Championship Wrestling the home promotion of Haze, Delirous and Evan Bourne. He had an infamous match in IWA-MS too.

In addition to that he is a nutritionist. He had a bunch of Wrestlers on his books Haze, Erik Stevens, Nigel G, Evan Bourne and even Colt Cabana (who dropped out.)

Basically he invented an all allmond diet that got you lean as all fuck. I mean new levels of lean. He had a website (dead) and even shirts to promote it under the brand Team Viggity. Wrestlers would wear the shirts and reference the team on radio shows & stuff.

Not saying that Peach's work caused it just that seems to be a turning point of her being healthy to the worrying shape she is in how.

A friend of mine is good friends with Delirious, so I asked him if he knew anything about what was up with Daizee. He said it was a combo of both of them quitting the ganja, and Daizee only eating natural foods. As soon as I asked him if he'd seen her lately, he shot back with "Yeah, she looks horrible doesn't she?"

I never followed those guys very close so I don't recall all the details but it def wasn't literally ALL almonds. It did heavily involve them though yeah, the gist I think involved eating a bunch of them every few hours for energy or something like that.
