So when exactly did Christian get lumped in with the "guys we are sick of?" Seems like he's barely been able to string a run of more than a few months together these past couple years due to injuries. I always thought he had smark cred, just seems odd because he can still go, and his heel character is a change in direction.

nothing has changed. Vince wants Punk back. HHH doesn't.

PWI via 411:

- On Monday, WWE scrapped several RAW segments mentioning CM Punk, including a Bad News Barrett promo. Word is that Vince McMahon did not want to bad mouth of bury CM Punk on the show because he's still hopeful Punk will return. Punk makes a lot of money for the company in terms of the merchandise he sells, and still has star power. McMahon doesn't want to burn the bridge with Punk, especially by burying him in his hometown.

The general feeling is that Triple H doesn't feel the same about the matter, and some think that as he gains more power behind the scenes, Punk's leverage for a return on his own terms could start diminishing.

It also doesn't give me much faith in HHH being able to put personal feelings aside for business. Vince has his issues for sure, but he never had a problem doing business with a guy he had problems with if he felt it would make money.

I'm wondering when the deal was made to bring Batista back. Did it influence the booking from last fall? Just panic over the Summerslam number? Who had they planned for the title match spot if he hadn't signed? I do think a fair share of the Bryan stuff was due to bad timing. But the one sticking point is they never had the foresight to book his revenge on the heels for screwing him so I really have no idea what the time frame logistics were here

Was listening to Steve Corino's appearance on the PWTorch Livecast. He said Zayn-Cesaro at NXT Arrival was the best match he had seen in 5 years. Bare in mind he was on plugging ROH and knew it wasn't an advisable public statement. He liked it that much.

Batista could beat up a grandma in the ring and cut a promo about how much fun it is to smack around the elderly and it would have zero impact on the movie.

I was going to say, WCW still promoted the hell out of projects Hogan was working on AS A MEMBER OF THE NWO! Only allowing Hogan to act more like a Hollywood "I'm the reason for everything and my movies are top grossing films" douchebag diva on their own promotional vignettes for it (saving the usual Terry Bollea act for appearances such as with Regis during the same era).

Sheamus v. Bryan? How was that going to work out?

My guess they would have built it around Bryan vindicating himself for the 18 second match from XXVIII. Despite having a longer match a month later and being in the WWE title picture for the next two months before Team Hell No started and a successful title defense at XXIX this past year.

Oddly enough this is consistent with his feelings about people who pull stuff like what Punk did. On the Austin DVD he outright disses Austin for the "taking his ball and going home" incident. Basically conduct exit in a more professional manner I guess is what Triple H's beef would be, on top of Punk refusing to work with him at WrestleMania.

Batista was great again on Smackdown in his ridiculous outfit. "Since when did they start letting fans into the ring?"

Bryan was awful though. For all his in ring brilliance people seem to be glossing over the fact that he's the most irritating character in the company right now (aside from JBL of course). At least Sheamus isn't given a live mic anymore. Speaking of which, it's funny how the four coldest acts in the company - Sheamus, Christian, ADR, Ziggler - seemed to be bound together at the moment. Makes their parts easier to skip. I wish they'd turn Sheamus or just do something with him. I want to like him.

I have noticed that all Bryan dueling promos follow the same format.

Other guy: You're ugly.

DB: No matter what you say, no matter what you do, these people still chant the word (Audience: Yes! Yes! Yes!)

Other guy: Yes, but you're ugly and short.

DB: Call me what you like, but these people still chant the word (Audience: Yes! Yes! Yes!)

Other guy: Yes, but you're ugly and short and a B-plus player.

DB: You may say I'm a B-plus player, but these people still chant the word (Audience: Yes! Yes! Yes!)

I don't think he's an irritating character as much as I think he's not always allowed to have real person responses when he's wronged. He is sometimes, like when he attacked Shawn after HIAC. There's also the issue that I'm not sure the company entirely understands why he's popular, so sometimes their scripting of his stuff leaves something to be desired. He's over enough for the foreseeable future that it's not a huge issue for now, but it is something I've picked up on.

My biggest problem with him is the smirking and the sarcasm. He was fine on Raw but this weeks Smackdown is him at his worst. It seems that all WWE babyface's have to fit this mold. Sheamus, Miz, Ziggler, ADR on his face run, Punk a coulple of years back, even Cena at his worst. Hideous people. I'm not 13 though so maybe I'm way above the age range they're supposed to appeal to. After all, I found the Rock to be insufferable during his last run but that shit was gold when I was a teen.

I think the company thinks he's popular because of the underdog aspect. I think that's part right but not the total reason why he's so over. They seemed to stop with the ugly, short stuff for awhile but it started back up last Monday. But yes I don't think the company understands why he's so over which obviously is affecting how he is scripted. I don't know if they will ever understand

It's not the craziest thought in the world to think he's over because people REALLY like chanting.
