Wasn't a bad show, although it didn't reach anywhere near the heights of last week.

The ending was kind of refreshing - heels acting like heels, and a good old fashioned beatdown with some fiery fighting spirit from the faces before being put down by the devious bad guys and their superior numbers. Faction warfare is always welcome as well, you get to see a few guys interact with each other so it is kept interesting. Really looking forward to the six man at Extreme Rules, hope they get plenty of time and make it a wild brawl.

Sheamus/Barrett and RVD/Cesaro are fairly tasty semi finals, presumably they are up next year.

One lackluster show that is done without the world champion, is paying tribute to someone who died and has a single night tournament isn't a huge deal in the big picture, but I'm really hoping they return to form next Monday.

It still remains to be seen whether this or last week was the aberration. I'll give them a pass tonight because Bryan was gone and they had Warrior to pay tribute to so they might not have thought of this RAW as a huge priority. But I'm not at all convinced yet that going forward the booking will be as good as last week made it look like it might be.

RVD is sort of like Sid in that he not only doesn't do the things that I like, but he actively does the things that I don't like.

With Sid, there's kind of a goofy, lumbering comedic element to it. With RVD it just drives me up the wall.

I had less than 0 interest in seeing RVD and am very annoyed that he's getting prime TV time over guys much better and more interesting than him, but I can't imagine Cesaro can't take control and work around RVD's big moves and spots and make a really good TV match.

I almost forgot about the annual simmering of the Mania high. Bryan-Kane is such a terrible idea. Bryan's momentum will vanquish in this feud. I wouldn't be shocked if that took a back seat to Shield-Evolution at the PPV. Things are starting to look grim again.

Bryan and Kane are great together, have a history, and it's a fine little series to start as it shows that this isn't gonna be some short run for Bryan as in no way is he losing the belt to Kane.

Cena's promo was fine and was consistent with his character. He's always been a guy to try and deflect things with jokes, going all the way back to his rapper days. In this instance, he was feeling comfortable after defeating Wyatt at Mania and fell back on his ways. Wyatt called him out on always hiding behind jokes, Cena got serious and made the challenge for Extreme Rules, Wyatt is gleeful to accept and it ends with Cena looking uncomfortable as Wyatt sings and sections of fans behind him are waving along to their leader.

Just because the jokes stink, doesn't mean the Wyatt's got "ruined".

"Grim again" after ONE RAW, sheesh.

I just hope it's a placeholder feud but with all these PPVs(special event!) coming up I could see them stretching this out

I really don't think the company sees it as a demotion for Bryan though. If Stephanie is involved like they teased tonight it will get plenty of attention. Probably won't get the ME slot but I guess they think they already made Bryan and are looking to make the Shield

Crowd is pretty dead for this

I thought this was another good RAW with lots of good wrestling and storyline progression, but the crowd really hurt it. This was a dead and disinterested crowd for most of the actual wrestling. They popped for some stuff, got kinda hot in brief bursts, but there wasn't any sort of sustained heat. Crowds like that distract me and make it hard for me to really dig a show. It's rare that RAW doesn't play to a hot crowd these days, so it's even more noticeable

I've said this before, but a lot of RAWs in the south seem to have shitty crowds. I'd rather they not run RAW in that region at this point, it hurts the TV product

What happened to our War Games hopes?

It was on F4WOnline.com that it can't happen because they do the set designs months in advance and they can't accommodate two rings.

I had this thought myself, but uh, why can't they just put a second door on a Cell? It wouldn't be perfect, but you'd have to be a real shit to complain about an eight/ten-man HIAC that had the other two aspects of WarGames (staggered entry and submit/surrender) being called "WarGames" just because it only had one ring.

Also, as always, I HATE a mass beatdown on faces without anyone coming in for the rescue. Was Cena too busy reading through the help menu on Photoshop to go do a run-in?

And why would The good guys come out to save Shield? Just cause Cena teams with them at house shows doesn't mean he's their pal on the TV shows. And all the other faces have no interest in saving the guys who spent a year beating them up. And more importantly that's just how wrestling works.

The announcing stunk like shit, though.

I don't think there is any question that the payoff is going to be the young beating the old, but that's no reason to pretend Bryan v. Kane is a good first program for Bryan. I realize it would require you saying something critical of modern WWE to acknowledge this point and that's not going to happen, but I can't imagine anyone is really hyped for a Bryan v. Kane ppv match at this stage. Hopefully Meltzer is right and they are going to do that on Raw, but I doubt it.

Truthfully, I liked RAW tonight. The IC Title tournament is fresh, and they're building the mid-card nicely with it. Paige-Alicia Fox was legit good. I'm looking forward to more Paige matches. Rhodes Brothers-Rybaxel was a solid tag bout with a great finish. I even liked the closing of the show, but the lack of heat hurt it significantly for me. Bryan being programmed with Kane does make sense. However, they should have wrapped up that part of the storyline awhile ago. Bryan can get good matches out of Kane, but I don't think that many people want to see those two feud. The Cena-Wyatt segment was bad. Even if Cena's character is "guy who tells lame jokes to hide fear" is that really a good thing? A lot of fans will remember the silly pictures put up on the titan tron. They can't read Cena's mind. They just think he doesn't take the Wyatt's very seriously. No matter if he changed to serious in the promo or not. I don't think it buried the Wyatt's or anything that outrageous. I just think it's a poor way to further a feud that is intended to be very serious and hate filled. Intentional comedy for the sake of intentional comedy in a feud like that never works for me.
